It will not, unless u have space constraint. Even a lot of external monitor is 24-inch and above nowadays.

Agreed, and the price different btw high end 21.5" (w upgrade 16GB ram) beginning model 27 pricing not really far away.

My consideration is:
Buy high end 21.5" with upgrade 16GB ram
(Because 21.5 model very difficult DIY upgrade RAM)

Or

Buy entry model 27" and upgrade the RAM in future.

definitely entry model 27" and upgrade ram later.

if u do ram upgrade on 21" iMac the price will be as close as to 27" iMac already.
not worth it. plus 27" u get a lot of extra comparing to 21".

Nah. 27-inch won't be ginormous. In fact, once you go bigger, you won't go smaller

What?! Upgrade RAM from Apple site? A big no-no. For another 8GB, you must add RM920. I bought my 8GB RAM for only RM350 plus online.

That's exactly one of the reasons why I opted for the 27" 5K iMac, just so I can easily install my own RAM upgrade. I'd recommend that to you.

I bought the highest end model iMac 27" 5K 2017. The graphics card is indeed a big difference from the previous model. As for the RAM, you can upgrade by buying Kingston Value RAM DDR4-2400. It works perfectly fine (so far).

I didn't want to wait so I thought just get it from the shop directly. However I found out that they only carry the normal models so any customisations require online purchase.

Yes, shop definitely does not have customised options available.

So most ppl do not buy iMac from store but order online especially due to the choice of storage. biggrin.gif

order online directly from Apple online has tons of advantages for example it comes with 14 days replacement and refund policies, any prob can do replacement or refund, very seamless and no shipping charge involved.

The delivery from Apple online store is also very fast.

I wanted it right away so purchased it from store. Maybe the next round I will try buying from Apple Store. The 256GB SSD is a better option for me as I don't really use 2TB of storage anyways.
