Parking. Is it worth upgrading to this from a late-2012 model?

Of course it is. There are so much bump on so many aspect since ur model.

But it's working fine tho. I have intentions to upgrade simply because I'm so used to the Retina display on the MacBook Pro to the point that every time I use my iMac, it feels like I'm using an ancient piece of antique by just looking at the resolution

Same here, with some additional spec bumps from i5 to i7 and from 8GB to 16GB RAM

actually is 27" too big? in terms of size, feel that 21" one is quite nice too.
*
Not really. In fact, I am looking for an ultra-wide external monitor to complement my 27-inch

Guess what, my late 2012 iMac failed on me completely, should I just buy this 2017 model to replace or send it back for repairs? I'm afraid they have to replace the whole logic board sad.gif

only the mid and highest spec of 27-inch can upgrade to i7 processor, but very expensive. shocking.gif

I don't think it's worth spending that much tho. Spending it on the RAM would be a worthier choice, in my perspective.

Will the 27" be too big? Still thinking buying high end 21.5" or entry 27" iMac...
*
Nah. 27-inch won't be ginormous. In fact, once you go bigger, you won't go smaller

icic, how about the performance using photoshop or lightroom on 4k/5k? does it lag? saw a lot complain from previous model
*
That, I noticed. Once in a while, the Lightroom in my 5K iMac lags but more often than when I run it on my 2014 MacBook Pro. Dunno why though...

Has anyone here installed macOS High Sierra on the 27" iMac with 5K Retina Display? Experiencing some performance slowdown upon installation.

Yes, upgraded to High Sierra on my 2016 iMac. Was using it the past two days over the weekend for Word, YouTube, Twitter, and usual stuff. But I didn’t experience any lag. Quite happy with High Sierra at the moment.

Not sure I was running too many applications at one time but if there's one thing that I find consistent is the time it takes for Safari to open websites. Takes slightly longer than usual.
