I bought the highest end model iMac 27" 5K 2017. The graphics card is indeed a big difference from the previous model. As for the RAM, you can upgrade by buying Kingston Value RAM DDR4-2400. It works perfectly fine (so far).

QUOTE(westlife @ Jul 23 2017, 07:58 AM) Yes, shop definitely does not have customised options available. I wanted it right away so purchased it from store. Maybe the next round I will try buying from Apple Store. The 256GB SSD is a better option for me as I don't really use 2TB of storage anyways. So most ppl do not buy iMac from store but order online especially due to the choice of storage. order online directly from Apple online has tons of advantages for example it comes with 14 days replacement and refund policies, any prob can do replacement or refund, very seamless and no shipping charge involved. The delivery from Apple online store is also very fast. |

QUOTE(westlife @ Jul 23 2017, 06:45 PM) Yes, I would opt for full ssd as the performance of the hybrid drive is still not comparable. Yup, the next time I buy it will be a full SSD configuration. Unfortunately for now, I will have to stick with the Fusion Drive.Yes, 256gb or 512gb ssd should be good for most, in any case, should be able to maximum the performance for the iMac. The 2017 iMac has updated ssd which the read/write speed is even faster than the MacBook Pro. |

QUOTE(mokmok07 @ Jul 24 2017, 12:53 AM) Just getting the based model of 27", There's no target display mode for 5K iMac's even until now. I used to have a 2016 MBP non touch bar and yes, it's very nice especially the wonderful display which is much better than the 2015 model.just got my MacBook 12" really nice to use... but thinking of return it for MacBook Pro with touch barĀ This post has been edited by clawhammer: Jul 24 2017, 01:15 AM |
