there are around 50 birds and 10 nest...

fall on poor side...... but better than 0 nest.......... buy or not judge urself, 50 to 100 nest will be fair to consider............

anybody can you please tell me th different between, meranti merah...kuning...putih ...bukit...kepong and pink?

Which one to use?..n if i got terrace hse one storey with a 30 x 22 feet with kennel dog? what id the opening..? anyone?

Those are meranti wood commonly used for nesting planks. Differences are colour, price and density. There's no solid evidence that which type is better than the others. Lower density meranti are cheaper but resistance to mold is lower. Some said lower density meranti easier for bird's claw to perch on. Personally I think as long as the planks got grooves birds can perch on. High density meranti such as meranti seraya also successly being used as nesting planks. The density of meranti wood categarised by the amount of air in the wood. Higher density=less air, heavier, harder. Never heard of pink meranti. Normally meranti like merah even from the same tree you won't get all wood dark red colour. The outer part of bark will produce darker colour and the core part lighter colour. Been to one uncle's farm he use meranti all campur-campur. Some even not meranti. But on all sort of wood also got nests.

How many feets apart from each plank see seng?

For sure dried wood is better. Resistance to mold is higher and new wood will shrink after some time when it dry up and may cause shape changes. But nowadays meranti wood so sellable it's hard to find natural dried wood. Normally must keep for a year to be naturally dry. Of course there are oven dried meranti at extra cost. Gaps between planks should be at least 12"-18". Some use up to 20" for future expansion to add a shorter plank later in between them.

How much your consultant charge per square feet for planks material and workmanship? 24" plank gaps mean lesser planks will be used to cover up your farm. Technically gaps too wide may cause slower growth in nest result. Your consultant may probably give you the reason wider gaps will give birds more breathing space hence more comfortable living environment. That may apply to human but your farm is not for human to live in. Swiftlets are colonial animal. They prefer crowded. That's why many nest started at area with tweeters. The growing pattern of nests in established farms also start from one area then grow bigger.

The moment when you mentioned that all cds are the same as its repeat the 5minutes and good cds are from Indon (please check previous post) I know that particular moment that you knowledge on the Swiftlet farming is questionable. So why should I ask you that has no understanding of bird sound to sell me cds? Don't put words or writing that I have not written ok. That is a big SIN you know boy!.

I guess all members here knew very well who always pin and point n pock everyone. No need to
defence and retaliate. Harry's blog is independent let him do whatever he wants and he didn't disturb you and I don't know y the hell that you blamed him for copying yr write. You can't even tell where n how Harry's copy your write. Look at your Blog ! compare with Harry's Blog no need to be an expert or Sifu all knew your write can not even come close to Harry one in term of informative, facts, detail, pictures, logic n many more can't finish counting (except yours with pics of girls with BIG BOObs which I sincerely don't know whether you are expert in it or otherwise). Even a 10 year old child will vote Harry,s Blog instead of yours. I guess you must have the self confident deficiency syndrome in you which whatever people write something which is better you feel being threaten so you keep on actacking others. Grow Up boy! Added on January 1, 2008, 6:18 pmIf the readers have read back what I have posted here earlier, you all will have found that I am strongly against CON-sultants from conning and milking new investors. In the process, I have make many enemies.
With the posting and the blog posts, I think most of the newbies will have gain enough knowledge to go about judging how to find good consultants.
I do not against harry blog, as Liked me he started the blog with the aim of sharing swiftlet info and mainly swiftlet info not techniques as he is still newbie in swiftlet farming. But when he started to do other thing liked giving consultations to others eventhough he himself is still searching for answer, this is again ` A con-sultant in the making'. That is why I commented him as I know he read my blog for info.
Nothing is wrong with that, but when you try to gives impression to others that you are well verse in swiftlet farming and able to help them in solving problems, you are just another con-sultant. I wish that I had waken him not to follow the path that he just chosen and move back to the right path.
It will protect his own name and respect.
As for swiftbuild, I had no more comment for this guy or guys in this forum, wake up man...you are making a fool of yourself.
While it is 2008, I don't think I want to continue doing it any longer.
I guessed I had help quite a lot of people and I will not be posting anymore comments in this forum as the previous posts will be able to help them and I wish you all the best.
As the knowledge of swiftlet farming is a never ending story, every day you learn something new, you don't have to rely on anyone to gain those knnowledge, it is all comment sense.
You only need to open your eyes widely, observed, always pay attention to details, always cares for the birds and not the nest,
lastly, No Pains No Gains.....I have been through it, looking after farmhouses fulltime, spending every evening checking on the farms progress, and I mean every night...
There is no point paying anyone big buck to do something which is all depends on comment sense. No one dares to say that he knows everything about swiftlet farming, everyone is still learning.

So good luck guys.....Don't trust this forum. It was started by two con guys which I mentioned earlier.
One is still shouting but very good potential as CON-sultant,
one is on the making but I feel that he is not qualified as he is not as black heart as swiftbuild. I hope he will not followed his partner path.
