Haha,

See who is so unpolite now.... Thank you, my children is doing fine.
They will each have one established farm that will pay for their education expenses,
their future family living expenses, and their retirement expenses.
While I will keep the rest of farms for me and my wife until we `Pak Neen Quai Loh'
,then the farms will past to not my children but to my cucus lah.

Ahh, another shui yue who is desparate and frustrated, COnsultants all catch him....
Skynest cannot help you want!! he got no experiences and he is a CON-sultant who
likes to cheat people from RM3,388.88 because other CON-sultants are cheating 20K from their clients.

Peace!.

So many Champions and so many Mong Char Char in this business. Mong Char Char wants free, Champions want money and pretend to give free advice. After a while, a lot of money changed hands.

Champions run away, Mong Char Char scratch balls and start learning the hard way.

That is good advice.

Knowledge is power but to gain the knowledge, you have to work hard to get it. Don't assume too much.

As in any business and forum, sure got Con-sultant, consultant, "tai pao" ones - talk big ones, shy ones BUT most important, there are some like TEACHERS and some UNSELFISH ones.

Thanks See Sing for starting this thread and West-Wing, Lucas 1 and so many others who are willing to teach and share.

Slowly but surely, we will move forward and newbies will be wiser in choosing their consultants.

Happy New Year 2009.

There are not much published scientific facts about AFs and managing it. Hence, due to the many grey areas, many can lay claim to be consultants.

What we do have are many seminars, more often than not by someone more interested in selling you something. Still, it is better than nothing unless you want to do self-study and research.

I believe eventually, the mysteries of this industry will be demolished by the many who share their views in forums like this one.

Harvesting by throwing away the eggs or babies just to get whiter-than-white nests is very cruel. It is not unlike eating shark fin.

I am 100% with West Wing & others that only recycled or empty nests be harvested. If not, sooner or later, maybe Jakie Chan will come out with an advertisement asking people not to eat bird nests because farmers kill babies just for a few dollars more.

I agree with West Wing that the so-called wild life rangers (or whatever you want to call them) has no legal right to forcefully enter a BH. Only robbers and thieves do that and certain law enforcers armed with court warrant.

What happened in Mukah, to be is blatant violation of the law by so-called animal-protectors.

QUOTE(arong @ Jan 8 2009, 10:22 AM)
We better sell to china collector for price RM3400 rather than local collector with price RM1900. As long as china collector willing to pay price higher then local collector we don’t mind how much they going to sell to china consumers. Lower price mean more people will consume and more raw nest they need and our price will maintain or increase.

The local BN processor spoils the market not the BH owner.

What you all think?

We need healthy competition to move forward in any discipline. Monopoly by a few buyers would be bad for farmers and consumers.

We must fight every attempts by anybody to monopolise this EBN market. I hope the associations are genuinely helping the farmers and not just to make quick money due to their vested interests.

At the same time, I do admit we need to regulate this industry too lest we end up like in other countries where all sorts of extra ingredients were found in EBN. Don'tthink PERHILITAN is the right regulatory body for Malaysia. Who else,I really don'tknow.

The PERHILITAN business is to protect AFs from becoming extinct. For years they failed terribly to properly do their job, i.e. take care of harvesting in the natural caves.

The current man-made dwellings for AFs have turned the tide against AF's extinction and PERHILITAN should in fact thank all AF farmers if they genuinely have the AF's welfare at heart.

Sadly, this is not the case. They carelessly let their laws to be out-dated and even created new ones to FRUSTRATE, NOT FACILITATE this industry. The make use of loop holes to make a few quick bucks. I really could not understand nor think of a rational reason for them to impose a levy of RM100/kg on BH nests. Fair enough for cave nests.

With the triple whammy hitting our palm oil, rubber and petroleum industries, PERHILITAN is trying hard to make it worse for our economy. As for other government agencies, well......can vomit blood when think of them....most are very ignorant. Take for example of insisting BHs must have windows before they can approve the building plans.

We must sincerely thank Dr Fadzillah and her team for their untiring effort to educated the proper government agencies and come up with proper guidelines. As I mentioned before, there must be regulatory bodies and a proper check-and-balance for this industry to flourish.

I hope some financial guru comes up with the estimated figures of the economic stimulus provided by this industry since the 1997-8 economic crisis and present it to the government, especially PERHILITAN. This AF industry has been a blessing in disguise for this country yet MALAYSIA BOLEH GOVERNMENT tak boleh bantu. Sudah jatuh di timpa tangga.

Last but not least, I hope PERHILITAN will wake up or they will be condemned to irrelevance (to AFs industry) one day but instead become PEROMPAK ALI BABA "stealing" from the sweat of other.

4)Ventilation: sufficient. with 4" PVC pipes.(Can't use ventilation brick in there)
5)Bird sound: Double type multiple swiftlets calling on CD+Amplier and USB+Amp.
6)Tweeter: 24x 2" tweeters inside,  2x 45degree pipes with 2x tweeters in
7)8 grooves on each plank, 4x 45degree board with hormone smell in each cubic.
8)Cubicial size 16"x48", 16"x24", 14"x48".

For a start I would only open BCEF. A &D is most likely not significant and only let in more light than needed and also increasing the air exchange which might not be needed.

BERNAMA

KOTA BARU, Sun:

Two men admitted to mistakenly entering a bank in Jalan Kebun Sultan here while attempting to enter a building which was used to breed swiftlets for their nests on Jan 8.

Kota Baru police district chief, ACP Zaharuddin Abdullah said the men were caught with the help of a bank security guard about 11.30pm and had with them various equipment for breaking and entering a building.

“They admitted to wanting to steal the birds’ nests but mistakenly entered the bank and were caught by a patrol unit,” he said.

He said the two men were being investigated under Section 448 of the Penal Code for breaking into a bank. — BERNAMA

Personally, I don't mind the language in this informal forum. The message is far more important. Afterall, you can really upset people by even by using soft language.
