QUOTE(zheilwane @ Mar 29 2019, 08:50 PM) Tested Step Drill bit, not very impressive, for small holes like less than 20mm ok la, for bigger holes like 35mm, it will take time, so after doing more research, i wasted another RM 80 to get carbide hole cutter. First time test on my most expensive and thick stainless steel sink, job done within 1 minute. The first sink, no hal, 1 min. Second sink..errr, no hal...THe most time consuming part is cleaning the sink without scratching it. Dontt understand why some plumbers claim it is a difficult or risky thing to open a tap hole on sink... my worker is able to do it with his first try Ofcoz u also need the boss to invest on a good drill and drill bit Model used in this video Bosch GSB180LI fifth sink, its going to take you 5 minutes. SS mmng keras, thus id rather buy cheap bits and toss them, then expensive one. |

QUOTE(ozak @ Apr 2 2019, 10:18 AM) SS not keras. Lembut. if you say SS lembut, then i dunno what is keras to youAlways drill with smaller Ø drill bit 1st. And alot of lubrication to cool down. That can prolong the bit and work faster. i deal mostly with wood and paling kurang keras, aluminium. To me, SS is keras, haha! The only time i drill SS is..well, kitchen sink. |

QUOTE(ozak @ Jun 10 2019, 11:34 AM) Used to use these tile drill bit way back, noob time. Now pakai rotary, with good carbide tip, hammer terus masuk tile. 95% no breakage, not as clean, but jagged edges, not more than 1mm. Works for me. I routinely drill through tile. But kalau mahu chantekkkk, kena use the tile bit of kos. But most of the holes dalam toilet is covered by something much larger than the whole itself, so i dun bother (water heater, cabinets, sanitaries, etc) |

Because I am looking for a power tool that mainly working on car (eg: take off the lug nut/crank bolt), but sometime will do some drilling on metal or wood, too.... And which tool to get? I have done some research it seems like Dewalt DW293 is the only choice for budget price, does anyone have better suggestions? FYI I'm just a DIYer hehe Thank you but your DW293 aaa.....errr, why dont you just get another drill for metal/wood? |

Baru mahu start new project, 3 years pending punya. 2 Part question
I have to consistently cut 22 1/4" wide panels from standard 4x8 blockboard. My Bosch GTS10J cut max ~18". Before I use my cordless circular with my jig to do it. As usual, never that consistent to 1/16". Ada idea how to expand the cut width capacity? Disclaimer, no panel saw like ar188, i do this just to kill time, kinda hobby, i have limited/unlimited resources to buy tools, as long as i can keep in in a store. |

QUOTE(yushin @ Aug 28 2019, 03:57 PM) I saw the bosch router, but personally I don't use router that often so I just stick to makita wired router. i forgot to add, my materials are 18mm blockboard, and i need to go through 8 sheets this weekend, and another 6 when i have time. Using template is loud, too much shavings and not time efficient i guess. I guess id need to use the tried and true, circular saw+track jig...why ooo why the GTS10J cant fit 24".For your panel cutting, you can first cut a "template" panel. Base on the template panel, use router to "carve" the other panels to the same size. You dun deal with laminate often? QUOTE(Zot @ Aug 28 2019, 04:02 PM) I've got space, but only weekend space saja, divided between many places. I'd need to be mobile, thus no panel saw. And i dont do this for a living, haha! |

QUOTE(ar188 @ Aug 28 2019, 09:07 PM) you mean two 10feet panel saws? Sengaja sungguh cakap 2 panel saw... back to question, perhaps a festool track saw? or budget version, kreg rip guide. yea, i have that. it works. Sengaja juga ckp festool.... I wonder how much that thing in Malaysia oo. And yes, I have both Kreg rip-cut and Kreg accu-track. So will have to use that then. Still can lari abit, usually in 1/16. |

QUOTE(iymm @ Sep 1 2019, 08:56 PM) Thank you for your advice... Your video links and reminder is useful for beginner likes me, seems like the impact driver will cost a lots money to buy those bit I have lived of drill/driver for so long. Thank you very much~~ I think the best way is get 1 drill driver and 1 impact driver/wrench..... Quite expensive ohh Impact driver is not a necessity, its a specialty tool for common ppl. mine sees much less use compared to my drill/driver. But bila ada, its very very nice. |

QUOTE(Zot @ Sep 3 2019, 10:04 AM) Two different purpose. If you are doing cutting mostly in open area like on window, roof, small trunk, then you want reciprocal (sabre) saw. Not for fine cutting. yes, two different purpose, but tangan itchy to buy one. I do know whats the difference, and has weighted in what is what. Biasa la ppl mahu kena push.If you do wood cutting on bench and similar stuff, then you need jigsaw for more accuracy and control. https://sawingpros.com/reciprocating-saw-vs-jigsaw/ Ill get the GKF dulu la. |

QUOTE(yushin @ Sep 3 2019, 12:22 PM) I've tried the Makita, and the Bosch.Makita is far superior, on the non-BL motor, made in UK, freaking heavy since construction is sintered metal, encased in plastic. Comaprison some polish site shows that the Makita edges the Bosch, especially in blade deflection. However... Bosch ~RM700 (RM877 in Kuching) Makita ~RM820 (RM895 in Kuching) If i want to make my purchase worthwhile, kena beli now, Friday ada project, before i continue with my house project, 2 weeks time. Edit - Sudah decided, Makita it is, non-BL DJV180 This post has been edited by ijan: Sep 4 2019, 10:04 AM |

QUOTE(Zot @ Sep 5 2019, 08:22 AM) Each one has its own purpose. To cut plank fast and in straight line is for circular saw. It cannot cut curve like jigsaw and short hard to reach angle is also the job for jigsaw. Circular saw has clean just since it has higher rpm but type of blade also very important. i wonder why you quoted me? Of course hobbyist will start with jigsaw since it is most versatile. Then add circular saw since it is hard to get straight cut with jigsaw. Later table saw because it is much easier to have perfect straight cut. Yes, we start with bicycle first You want high torque circular saw and cut through several plywood at a time? Go for worm drive type or better yet hypoid saw. |
