Me on Bosch cordless eco, adaptors are expensive.

But the idea of a small compressor has been considered, corded pun no hal, but like @ar188 cakap, shipping charges for a mighty small compressor is exorbitant.

So anyone going to the states with nothing to bring back?

Sudah beli cordless Bosch blower and cordless Bosch sander. Kinda like the sander because it much quieter compared to my Hitachi and Bosch corded.

The tokey kedey introduced my to a small 8 litre oil 1.5hp oil compressor, smallll, i like. Then show me the oil less 25litre compressor, so silent and no oily mess. If only locally available 8litre oil less compressor. (because sini shipping almost RM200)

New Irwin Vise-Grip semua made in china, materials are more gunmetal, almost the same thickness but it doesnt have that ruggedness and heft like the older Made in USA Vise-Grip

Funny shit Bosch pakai 165mm blade for the GKS, but only sell the 160mm. Now hilang 2.5mm cut. Need the higher tooth count. Cheap ass at RM50 compared to the RM200++ i paid for the 8" Bosch Multi material that got blunt after 3 cuts...

Two of the bigger saws that i have. The GTS i regret buying. The GCM is worth it.

What is the problem with the table saw?

I'm thinking of buying the same table saw.
*
max cutting width with the fence is only 18" inches only...
and the non standard mitre slot, and the really lousy mitre slide, it wobbles with so much slack, a 45 degrees cut is like 38 degrees. Thus the purchase of the GCM.

other than that its quite a good quality/build, good feature, nice looking, compact light workplace table saw. Oh, price point quite steep compared to other chapalang. If you have the money to spare, no hal. But the Stanley (since they ventured into power tools) is half the price, plastic body, but fence max is almost 24". My cabinet making, carcass is at over 22" wide.

used it before, for DIY ok,  business, not so.

even this cheapo 1-2k ugly thing is more useful for projects.  (got 2 in the shop now)

True, that is why the Bosch is considered as a jobsite saw, due to its portability. If i'm doing it for business, or rich ass ada workshop/space for my work, i'll get the panel saw. Just today i have to rip a 4x8 panel to 4x4 before i can bring it over to my table saw. PIA.

What about makita mlt100? Is it a much better choice?
*
'
That day ada research, its slightly more expensive, has bigger table area, wider fence limit, good mitre. However, it's HEAVY!! And the review online is very mixed, as opposed to the positive review on the Bosch GTS.

And yes, the Dewalt is better, however cannot cari locally, or the local one mahal and low spec. US/UK model has much better spec, build and everything else, with the cool micro adjust fence (dial type) but shipping kills ppl.

i rip all my 4x8 using aluminium fence.

then using a premade sacrificial guide, measured to 90 degrees i cut all the panels to the cutsheet.

repeat cuts using leftover wood i clamped to the top fence. measure once then repeat for all the required panels.

then glue everything together

some a lot of the panels are longer than what the gcm could handle. hence the guide
other solutions (panel saw/table saw/etc) don't work for me. too big, no space, too expensive better buy chainsaw.

using this i could hang the guide to the wall once finish.
*
Too big, no space, too expensive = Doesn't suit you
Chainsaw = That's you

I've never seen this setup before, but seems to be very good for repetitive cut without table saw.

My case, I can't rip pakai guide+circular because they are errors/drift in the cuts. A cabinet panel 1mm longer would be PIA when assembling the cabinet carcass, so for repeat accurate cut, i use the table saw.

There's always gonna be difference in the panel thickness anyway.
Even mdf/hdf/chipboard will have thickness variance across the panel. More so with wood.
*
panel thickness im very aware of that, sama batch ok, but sometimes order 2 weeks apart, ada lari 1mm

i was talking about cut accuracy. 22 1/2" become 22 9/16" or 22 17/32". Aesthetic is one thing, sakit hati/mata is one thing, when things don't fit, tercedol keluar, or bowing etc...aiyo

ya ya i work in inches mega_shok.gif because in metric figure sudah gila2 sikit, not to mention most material datang in inches and feet

Makita Cordless straight brush cutter/grass trimmer

Model DUR189 or DUR187, claimed no load run time from 102-181 mins on 5ah battery

Anyone has any issue with cordless straight grass trimmer (i won't consider these brush cutter)? For exercise, potong rumput 5 houses, if convenient enough, suruh my female staff potong.

Went to Kuching Makita showroom, these ppl are very friendly, can demo at home for big items, small item layan me macam want to buy everything in the shop...but thing is, you cant buy anything at all. Mesti go dealer, it's only a showroom.

user posted image

The DUR189 is newer, adjustable and shorter, easier to simpan and ikat to my scooter. Newer BL and ADV motor control, +lighter too. MSRP RM999 for bare tool. The older and longer DUR187L solo is only RM50 cheaper, but is available in lazada for RM999 with charger and 3AH battery. Cannot find DUR189 with batt pack yer in Lazada.

paskal whats your comment? cordless 18V makita, straight grass trimmer, ~200W motor only.

if your own use i rather suggest you get a gas powered engine.
tanika/ogawa bg328 could be had for under rm200 these days.

the 120 minute 5a rating in no load condition.
you load it at 75% you're gonna run out of juice in 30 minutes.
furthermore locally we deal with some pretty hard and thick stemmed grass. if you got that pesky sambau kering/sambau minyak in your garden the plastic trimmer wire will have a really hard time to cut or might not even cut it at full speed.

if you only deal with carpet grass or other thin stem grass i guess its ok.
but none of my friends that bought electric trimmer still uses them laugh.gif

What model electric trimmer your kawan pakai? Those black and decker kind of thing ka?

Just asking. But your answer changed my solid decision to a jell-o

But petrol powered straight heavy ooo

You de outdoor power tool guy here. You think a corded electric Stihl FSE81, input power 1000W is sufficient for moderate lawn grass cutting? (not ladang cutting aaa). 2mm cutting string.

Petrol is too messy, fussy, heavy and i cant get the smaller 20+cc (700W) motor straight cutter.

never had one

too expensive can't afford  cry.gif

okay la, technically speaking, a 1000W AC motor can lawan a 30cc 2T petron engine output? serves same function, power source saja lain. What say you? Torque dunno. RPM sama.

Today beli, Makita DUR187L grass trimmer. Lama think about it, siap the makita showroom went to one of my facility, bring over 2 units, for me and my staff to try out, so free cut 2 ft tall grass with heavy stalk (the type new house ada kalau leave for 3-4 months) can cut through with half battery left (5AH). Almost on par with smaller petrol nylon cord grass cutter, cannot lawan those equipped with metal blade. But it gets the job done effectively. Todei ada test out at my backyard (800 sqft), mixed grass, never got the time to do it with half battery left (3AH) no regrets, cuts effectively, suprisingly. And the thick nylon lasted through the whole cutting session with out the need to feed.
