Not sure if it's the installer fault when putting the TP for me.

My left side Tp bottom part has a small gap so everytime I need to put in more pressure when touching that part

no default value as every device was set by "someone" before we get it. Most of us got it default at -2 or -4 (pre-update, post update would be -3 or -6). Only very rare units came in -6 (-9 post update) and those are the really severe and obvious red screens one.. The not so severe or obvious red-screens came in -2 or -4 depending.

I highly believe all our S8 or S8+ were opened by SME and they set the values accordingly to adjust the red-tint on the displays if any.. Unless its done in the factory itself during production but I doubt that's the case..

Just decided to dive into my wallet to get myself a S8 midnight black

Anyway, as I did not do any preparation,  I bought rhinoshield Tp at 149 for the phone and it seems not so responsive when I'm using it. Anyone experience the same thing with the TP or is there any other TP to recommend?
*
TP? You mean TG is it? Tempered Glass.

any white screen should be able to check for red-tint, but checkered box help to identify which area I guess.

then select #9 Grid Mode.

The box is seal. Unless they re-seal it. I believe shall be pre-program set in later firmware than human set.

Anyway I don't see this value is an issue. As long as the screen is constant colour than spot here and there.

the only TG that ever got "decent" reviews is Whitedome or Hao. but both are in the range of RM250-300.
and yet, even those still cant give you the original smooth glass feeling and sensitivity, they could only come close but not quite.

So unless you are willing to splash the cash for expensive TG, dont bother with cheaper ones as you will run into problems like you're having now..

I dont see it as an issue as well, its just for discussion purpose. The very fact that all devices have different values out of the box and none or little if any came straight out of the box with a 0 can only tell you one thing..

Samsung knows the red-tint issue is real.

anyway if its pre-program set, then how would they determine which device gets a -2 or -4 or even -6..

Im pretty sure you would need a human eye to determine, because they select that option depending on how Red the screen is..

btw of course when given to us the box is seal, but im pretty sure SME can re-seal and even put back new plastic films for the front and back glass, then re-seal the box again..
Because many people had done 1 to 1 exchange, not counting those that opened more than 1 unit. So what will happen to those opened units? They wont just dump it somewhere, instead dump it back into the market and wait for new customers. If new customer accept it then so be it, if customer complaint also then repeat.

I just went to urban republic gurney plaza n installed otterbox symmetry with alpha glass. However I think due to manufacturing defect somehow a part of the screen wasn't responsive. So the staff changed to panzer glass. Perfect combination with the otterbox case and good responsive.

I believe possible it is due to different batch or production is different and thus such value coming up so quick to solve it. Anyway this is just my guest.

I find not possible human set because it is too troublesome. Also I don't see shop store free to set it up and later factory reset it and re-seal it. If factory even not possible, they are big huge mass production, if use human eye to detect and fix it will delay a lot the production time.
