This tank not really expensive. I can't remember the exact price (bought it last year), think is about RM30++. Filter is about RM20 each (suggest you look around in Jalan Pasar). DIY CO2 (only about RM1.70 per month for the sugar). The rest like ADA soil is about RM88, those ADA powder (RM45 consists 5 small pack of powder for the base), power sand RM12 (lose pack). Wood about RM12 for two. Lighting set RM80......... And other stuff like fert and so.... Overall, I spent about RM500++ for my tank. Actually, I can spend less but because I'm new in this hobby so some of the items is not in use and not necessary. doh.gif

Advice you do more research before you start buy all these staff, can save you more $$$ from blindly buying unnecessary stuffs.

anyway, i've visited a few LFS and asked for their expert opinion...

to maintain a planted tank without often water change, i'll need to grow bacteria inside... what kinda bacteria dunno.... ahaks...

how to grow??... pour a layer of bacteria and ADA power sand (some sort la, i also blur adi so many different layer)..... da bacteria will feed on the power sand and grow...

if i jz use fert soil without bacteria, water change is needed because of ammonium buildup inside the tank due to fish food and etc....

so, anyone here selling any of those bacteria n powersand i need ahh??... or can derma some to me... haha... i jz have 1.5 feet tank... vr small only.... blush.gif

Just add some medications with copper.
Guaranteed clear after awhile.
