bought 1.5ft tank, ADA bacter ball, ADA amazonia II aquasoil, HOB filter, driftwood....

a few more items to buy... timer for lighting (gonna use my table lamp), co2 diffuser, diy co2 bottles, dc fan, and of course plants....

havent really decide whats the theme for my tank yet.... most probably dump a few moss inside can oledi... haha... my parents want them to be simple.....

woah, now back in home got parents bank already then can give out all things already lo...
i hope i can be like that though, but my parents sure won't sponsor in my tank...

jz setup my stupid tank... but got a few problems...



HOB filter seems abit small... flow rate vr low... i can see stagnant water at the other side of the filter.... will this be ok??...

but this HOB filter is the same size with my melaka tank HOB filter... dat one in melaka, flow rate vr high... this one sucks... how can i increase the flow rate??...



2nd problem.... ipoh got no LFS which sells nice aquatic plants...
damn, have to wait next week only can setup coz might be going back penang to buy.... all my schedule ruined....

3rd problem... lighting... currently using my old table lamp... only gives out 9W... definitely not enough IMO... i suggested diy higher wattage lighting at lower cost but rejected by mum coz tak cantik... lolz....
mayb will stick with this 9W light and plant low light plants and keep everything running slow...

4th problem not actually a problem... convincing parents to invest in pressurized co2 tank... but of coz they want it at cheapest cost... hoping can find small co2 tank from shops besides LFS (surely LFS will sell more expensive)... mayb hardware shop if they carry them...
the question is...
will the co2 tanks from hardware shop suitable for plants??...
can regulators bought from LFS suitable for co2 tanks from hardware shop??...


one more question... why my soil got bubble ahh??... due to the bacterball i put inside??....

1. looks like ur HOB is adjustable flow .. try turning the knob there .. my hob also like that ..
3. buy 55w PLL and e-ballast .. below rm50 buy some wiring also ..owh . dont forget those cheap reflector ..
4. u can get pressurized tank for 200 like that .. manual regulator between 50-90 ..solenoid regulator 200-300 .. its a good investment ... refill would cost around 30-50 depends on shop ... refill like only once a year.. depends on ur bubble rate and how long u turn on a day ..

well . co2 tank is a co2 tank . no matter where it comes from .. even the fire extinguisher can be used for co2 tank .. they can hold the same pressure around 1000-1200psi .. the co2 gas refill at LFS aje lor ...most co2 tank uses the same regulator valve size at the bottle neck .. shouldnt be a problem .. if cant fits .. can get from pneumatic shop ...

bubble normal lor .. just trapped air when u put the soil only ... owh .. i think ur soil to thin .. put more ...

the HOB adjusted to max flow already.... datz why i'm asking for alternative solutions...

if diy lighting from scratch, yes can be done, but will look abit ugly rite??...

pressurized tank cost rm200??... in penang da tauke told me can get for about rm120... mayb smaller tank lar...
yea, invest in co2 tank will be more cost saving in long term... but the question now is, does my parents have the same long lasting interest with it.... haha....

what is ur tank H x W x L?

the smallest CO2 cylinder, get 2Liter one. those really relaly small one alot is dispost one. canot refill.

hardwareshop canot get the CO2 cylinder, but u can get from those CO2 refill shop. they hv some 2nd hand cylinder which is cheaper. but so check the expired date of the tank. also make sure, last time the cylinder is using liquid co2. not powder.

ur HOB slower can it be the inflow there u add a sponge? remove it n see how.

nowdays already cheap ... co2 tank .. and yeah .. with using other tank , u will check the date .. and sent it to inspection/pressure test ... if it can hold 1500psi , its good ...

yes ah cylinder price drop?

haha, i still collecting money for my planted tank though, now my tank just keep it on what i have now, didn't add in anything as well..

i did saw before co2 tank about 15cm tall... lolz... cost about rm58.... dont think it can last a month also....

i tried removing the sponge off my HOB filter... the flow still vr slow.... datz why i also blur adi.... anyway, kept it running and if really insufficient only see how lor....

if real cylinder, 15cm mostly canot refill use once then throw.. or display haha..

u need to measure ur tank, inorder to get the right light.

For now i'm still new in this, maybe next week will start built the DIY CO2 bottle and then buy diffuser, after that buy the plants.. Hehe..

wah, catacombs going to have full burst on his planted tank back in ipoh, since his parents sponsor.

about the light, you need to check the dimension of your tank, so can check on which light to use. if use wrong lighting, the K rating the watt those thing, will cause your tank very fast evaporate.
