I also still using E398, but using MR3020. With the latest ROOter firmware it's very good, and the router serves me well despite its size. Did u guys use external antenna for E398? I'm considering if it is worth to invest an external antenna. Also how does external antenna work, if in the future i change to a LTE-A modem, can I still use the external antenna?

I got one idea. Instead of buy the Huawei 4G Modem/router. Why not just buy a 4G phone as HotSpot? Right?

Some people do that, in fact most phones have a much more advanced LTE modem.

The problem is, phones will overheat and the wifi signal is weak compared to a physical router. Phones are simply not designed for that kind of long term usage.

Because I have one 3G/4G router. Thinking to buy a 4G USB modem.

Digi has launched band 8 at my house. Speed is 20m.
My modem which is currently locked to band 7 has more stable speed too.

But worse is, i can't log into LTE-A now. The phone always lock into band 8 only.

can we just report that guy that joined on today 12:48pm and get rid of him from here to harrass others? looks like he has been suspended before and now create another user to troll here and there without knowing the purpose in this forum...

Yes, it was logged into LTE-A, but just for 3secs.

My area band 8 sites all been locked.
Which mean only can enter once the band 7 band 3 signal is weak....

My B3 & B7 are not weak. I didn't remember the RSSI reading, but usually B3 3-4 bars, B7 2-3 bars, and latest B8 4-5 bars.

My phone support 3CA. So far only work with B3+B7.

i dont think B8 can CA, it's only 5MHz while B3 and B7 is CA at 20Mhz:

I have no issue with Digi Infinite 150 and this is my third month using it. My speed test as below:


No issue at all and I do have Digi Best Prepaid and Digi Ambassador as well. Speed is more or less the same.

My place has LTE-A coverage (klang valley) and I need to find router with 4G

Is this okay? Any experience with using this router? Is this router LTE-A capable?

Band 8 can CA, but it just can't CA here. I don't know what is the reason. But i very confirm my phone support 3CA(3+7+8) by reading the modem config file, and double confirm it with your link. The taiwan telco.
