Recommended Modem and Routers:

Getting a LTE-A carrier aggregation router is recommended. It is able to perform better by combining 2 cells (B3 and B7). You can reach speed up to 80Mbps if you are lucky. brows.gif

You can test with a LTE CA capable device such as Samsung S7, S8, iPhone 7 etc.

If there is no LTE CA at your location, a Cat 4 150Mbps modem is good enough if you do not care about future proof. tongue.gif

Carrier aggregation capable modem:
Huawei E5186 modem router ~RM600
• Able to support more users with better signal as it is a modem router.
• Avoid the s61a version over concern that it may not support carrier aggregation. Get the s22a version.Tools for Huawei E5186

Huawei E5787 mobile hotspot ~RM800

Other modems
Huawei E3276 USB modem 150Mbps ~RM250
Huawei E5776 mobile Hotspot 150Mbps ~RM300
Huawei B310 modem router 150Mbps ~RM350
TP-LINK MR6400 LTE modem router 150Mbps~RM400
TP-LINK MR200 LTE modem router 150Mbps~RM450
ZTE MF93D
Huawei E5377s-32

More on thread #2

Common Tips:
  • Torrent is limited to 64Kbps, get yourself a VPN or seedbox
  • Private IP is provided
  • Download the MyDigi app to file a complain.
  • Put your modem near your window for the best signal.

Factors that affect network performance:

1) Your device:
• Getting a new LTE modem especially a LTE CA capable one will have better performance.
• You might be having a faulty modem, try switching your SIM card with other modems.

2) Your signal coverage:
• If you are not within LTE-A coverage area or getting awful 1 bar signal, don't expect to have 20Mbps of speed.
• Consider placing your modem at a better spot.

3) Congested with other users:
• If you live in an area where there are a lot of Digi users, be prepared with network congestion.
• Even you have a 100Mbps modem, under serious congestion, you may not even get 5Mbps.

4) Timing:
• The network will be more congested at a certain time when there's a lot of users on the network. Bear with it, it is normally the fastest during midnight.

Check for LTE-A coverage on Samsung devices:

Only works with new Samsung phones with CA ability. (S7, S8 etc)

You can also refer to my old LTE guide, a lot of them are still applicable.user posted image

QUOTE(helo @ May 20 2017, 01:03 AM)
anyone using yagi Antenna here?

My area has no LTE-A, but with 4g coverage, tested on my phone the speed is around 20mbps for download near window, in the room is ard 12mbps...

Should I get a LTE-A router es5186 or b310 since I have no LTE-A coverage?
Cuz I am thinking es5186 is future proof that later my area might have LTE-A coverage (just thinking)

I have another question is yagi antenna, how do u guys install it on the roof? The length of the cable will affect the speed am I right? How long is the optimum length? 5meter?
*
My suggestion is don't. YAGI is not actually designed to be used with LTE. You can but the gain is limited. Not to mention that it's hard to get it right. smile.gif

CA is slower due to slow B7. My B3 itself beats both CA and B7 only hands down.

Weird. hmm.gif

CA should use both B3 and B7. Let me experiment further when my E5186 is with me.

It enables a call to be made via the LTE connection. The connection will not drop to 3G and the quality is better with clearer audio.

The info from E5186s-61a is different and says CA mode is No.
I am getting ~ 10 to 15 mbps max with 4 bars.
Thinking of changing it with 22a. Thanks.

Do you have any other devices with CA ability?
