QUOTE(kopifan @ Jun 25 2017, 08:13 AM) TM Unifi Lite @ RM129 but no foc call to TM fixedlines Good enough actually. Save the cost for pay for use then. If ur pay per use call charge is indeed more than rm20 per month, then u should consider add in the rm20 call plan.

Just realised my parent house BTU is HUAWEI branded, while my house one is Alcatel. Only less than one month time of installation of the new unifi between the two. But the brand of BTu they use are totally different.
Seems like different area, they use specific brand of the BTU? For compatibility?

QUOTE(Xefron @ Jun 25 2017, 10:34 PM) Yes the BTU is vendors specific based on the OLT at TM exchange. no wonder. but as long as it does not affect the speed or causing any limitation then should be fine.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Jun 26 2017, 12:51 AM) Even I relocated from sebelah taman also got my BTU changed and phone no. was changed as well. Only less than 5 minutes drive away. Of course now relocated back to my sister's house which is at another state, TM also changed my BTU. yup, indeed. When I was staying in my parent house last time, and I was subscribed to VIP10 time, they also give HUAWEI BTU. Now my parents they are using unifi advance 30, they also give HUAWEI BTU. Seriously I prefer HUAWEI brand than Alcatel. HUAWEI BTU and tp-link archer c5 the perfect match.

QUOTE(enriquelee @ Jun 28 2017, 03:12 PM) Ow...gosh! Just check my latest bill, I am paying for the following, RM 199.00 for 10mbps with a discount of RM 30.00. Means paying of RM 169.00 effectively for it. Then pay RM 1.40 for calling to maxis fixed line and RM 6.25 for calling to mobile line. Not to say the over price UNIFI. Some more I was informed call to fix lines nation wide is FOC. (Or just FOC to TM line?) FOC to TM line only.

QUOTE(enriquelee @ Jun 28 2017, 04:51 PM) Alright, lesser pain now. But still pain. streamyx is still giving unlimited calls to all fixed line TM now. while unifi new subscription at most have rm20 call plan that gives 600mins to all tm fixed lines only.

QUOTE(enriquelee @ Jun 29 2017, 08:50 AM) The RM 149 10mbps include this ler "Free 600min national calls, free Unlimited calls to TM Fixed Lines " 600 mins is additional to other telco fix line. Then good lo. Meaning even maxis fixed line is free too. But special number will not be included.

QUOTE(enriquelee @ Jun 29 2017, 09:54 AM) I no longer tie with contract. That is why plan to switch to Maxis with Astro if I am really a water fish. ic. if u are not heavy user then actually can consider unifi lite, cheapest. and likely later along the way u may receive calls from TM to offer u better deal at cheaper price.

QUOTE(isr25 @ Jul 8 2017, 07:38 AM) Singapore already offering 10Gbps to home users for a year now http://www.straitstimes.com/tech/still-ear...or-10gbps-fibreMeanwhile in Malaysia... Bolehland dun expect too much. There are ppl even using 384kbps streamyx. They should ensure Fiber infra on all residential area first. At least a 10Mbps internet is enough to meet the basic needs for casual users for YouTube 1080p etc.

QUOTE(arr9ow @ Jul 15 2017, 07:24 AM) Already change dlink 850L with tplink AC1200 (3 antenna). Asking contractor to change when they came to fix broken fiber at attic. They charge me rm80 cash to fix the fiber plus rm53 charged on bill. Wifi now faster on tplink. I think tplink perform better than dlink although booting time on tplink are much longer. TP-link Performance is certainly better. Even the user interface of the configuration page is smoother and easier. The new ac1200 they gave is known to have 4-5 times or even longer boot up time than the old archer c5 they gave.

50Mbps indeed makes the download faster by a lot. Now updating apps on my Apple devices a lot faster. Faster upload speed is nice also.
QUOTE(jusbella @ Jul 22 2017, 10:23 AM) VIP 20 here, rarely get this message. Hopefully it's regarding speed upgrade. Confirmed it is not. Free upgrade will just get the free upgrade SMS. I have this kind of messages previously as well. Normal maintenance SMS only. This post has been edited by westlife: Jul 22 2017, 03:01 PM

QUOTE(jusbella @ Jul 22 2017, 07:48 PM) Totally nothing to do with upgrade. How much is the mobile phone call rate from tm fixed line? How come calls to same telco mobile no can be so much difference in the rate?

QUOTE(danieltay @ Jul 23 2017, 05:19 PM) Based on their track record, it could takes forever! In unifi, you can enable or disable iPV6 via the router right? In Maxis, you can't! Now I am stuck when it comes to mobile device. I can only disable iPv6 on PC/Laptop Now answering via my digi handphone mobile data. So my maxis ftth is as good as redundant. Maybe it's time to move on. Any Unifi Lite subscriber? How is the performance? Lucky I never subscribe to maxis Fiber, tm unifi is free for all for everything, enjoy it.

The 50Mbps is insane. Comparing to 30Mbps. Download a file of 1GB it only took less than 3 mins.
