50% of not is NOT AN ISSUE.

Bear in mind.
This tax is IMPLEMENTED ONLY in 2009 by JIBBY.
There is NO such TAX exist before this brilliant idea of taxing each card RM50 by JIBBY.

So why on earth PH gov as they claimed takes care of the rakyat wanted to re-implement this stupid tax created by Jibby?? vmad.gif
Not to mention, LGE he himself oppose the implementation of this tax back then in 2009
*
SST on credit cards were introduced by Dr M & Anwar in 1997-2000. Najib reinstated in 2010. All the governments are almost the same, they need to collect tax.

Since 2000 is was abolished for 10 YEARS!!!
So it should not be there if its not because of Jibby!!!

Think of it this way,
If Jibby did not reinstate the tax in 2010, will LGE now re-introduced this tax??
*
Do you know that you need to pay SST 2.0 for electricity, internet services, flights? Did you pay SST 1.0 for this items?

You are one of the minority (3 mil of 32 mil Malaysians) and privileged to get credit cards as majority of rakyat do not qualify. But the majority had chosen SST 2.0 than GST 1.0.

The credit card SST is just a small portion of our contributions to the country, we pay more on income tax, stamp duties, SST, council tax, quit rents, licenses, road tax etc.

i believe many had posted to his fb complaining.
but i doubt it will work.

since it's another 5 years to go.
perhaps 4 years later he will come out and say something like
"i will reconsider"  mad.gif

He or new finance minister will introduce GST 2.0 once PH becomes BN 2.0. GST is a perfect tax system and all the governments will get addicted to GST/VAT by revising the GST rate to increase tax revenue. By then the credit cards may already become a dinosaur as fintech may have killed the banks and card issuers.

Thank you for sharing your in-depth knowledge, cybpsych.  thumbup.gif

I plan to use Maybank FCB VS around 11.30 pm on 31st August for an online transaction (which uses iPay88 payment gateway). Since iPay88 is hosted in Public Bank, it provides higher possibility that it may be posted on 1st September or later.

Anytime on 31/8, no need after 11:30pm for Shopee.

Annual income, regardless employed or unemployed.
You can submit your tax return 2017 - Form B for unemployed.

Don't be too aggressive on this new e-wallet as they received RM36 million funding only, pocket is not as deep as Celcom-Boost.

Check you CCRIS or CTOS.
Maybe there are some credit accounts / guarantees that you don't know.

Guys,

using your CC to reload Debit Card like BigPay, then use BigPay to topup e-wallet like Boost, then withdraw to CASA to pay CC

Purpose is to either accumulate CB, or CC points

Will I be investigated by the Bank or even BNM if I perform such transaction weekly?
Lets say the monthly total transaction amount is more than RM100k?

Is it legal? For some it may sounds like money laundering hmm.gif
*
Don't play too extreme. It will kill the goose that lay golden eggs.
Less than RM10k in a month (per person) should be fine.
Most of CCs, BP, Boost had set monthly rebate/topup/cashout limits.

Good afternoon.
Let's say statement date 27 October (Saturday), if i swipe on 27 October (Saturday), i will pay in next statement right? instead of 27th October as the transaction will be posted on Monday. Kindly advise.

THanks.

You must make sure your card and the merchant's machine are not from the same bank.
If you are using a Maybank CC, then you have 30% chance the transaction will be posted on the same day. (30% local merchants using Maybank)

Good if you are a frequent traveller.
Otherwise BigPay Prepaid is good enough to buy AiAsia tickets.

Previously i owned maybank2cards gold. Recently like 7 months back my card got cancelled due of inactive and outstanding amount of RM3,000. I have settled the amount. Now I am trying to apply back the card. My situation is i dont have a payslip, but i do have a current account with maybank that is active with 70-80k a month and ending balance of about 100k. Is it possible to apply?

Thanks.

I was being told by the person in charge that if i cancel it right away without activating the card, i wont be charged for sst. Thats the reason.

I only cancelled my visa not amex.

It is no longer easy to get both Maybank (conventional) and Maybank Islamic CCs now. Maybank prefer offering you 1 credit limit than 2 separate credit limits.

If you want the Ikhwan CCs, you can convert your conventional CCs to Ikhwan CCs.

Is it possible to swtich card within a bank? That means i have card A with the bank but i want card B and cancel card A. Do bank have any policy to change my card while retaining the same credit limit and without going through the application process again? hmm.gif
*
Possible, you can switch or add new CC, within the same bank (eg you cannot request a Maybank CC and give up Maybank Islamic CC, Maybank and Maybank Islamic are not the same bank), and same category (eg you cannot request Platinum CC to replace Gold CC).
The CC issuers may request your income documents from time to time to check your creditworthiness (so to adjust the approved credit limit) and to comply with Bank Negara's policy (CC from 2 issuers only if annual income drops to <RM36k).

QUOTE(Zaryl @ Nov 23 2018, 11:41 AM)
guys, i have question to ask.

Scenario 1

Let say my statement due date is on 20/11/18.
statement balance = rm1000.

i already paid off the statement balance on 18/11/18.
But then i spent rm500 on the 19/11/18.

So will i still be charged interest on that rm500 (or on that rm1000 earlier?) since i haven't reached to 20/11/18?
should i spent AFTER 20/11/18 to avoid kena interest?

Scenario 2

Statement due date - 20/12/18
statement balance = rm2000

i managed to pay off the statement balance of only rm1000 on 19/12/18.
Will i be charged interest on the remaining rm1000 or the rm2000 earlier?

Normally how much is the interest being charged ya?

thanks for the help.
*
Partial or minimum payment on previous statement balance:
No interest-free period.
A finance charge will be levied on your unpaid outstanding balance and all new transactions from the date the transactions are posted.

Interest rate:
(a) 15% per annum if you have promptly settled your minimum payment due for 12 consecutive months
(b) 17% per annum if you have promptly settled your minimum payment due for at least 10 months in a 12-month cycle.
© 18% per annum if your payment record is not within either (a) or (b) above.

Sorry if this is out of topic.
Which creditcards have running promotion and cashback for overseas spending this month? I am flying off this weekend and need to decide which card to bring.
*
I am doing this, for overseas spending this month...
(1) HLB Wise, 10% @ RM1000-equivalent, >2500 winners, chance quite good.
(2) Maybank FCB VS / M2 Amex, 10%, 3000 winners, but must spend >RM1000-equivalent. (sms TRAVEL ...)
(3) RHB VS/WM, 2% CB (or more) if monthly spend (coming statement) >RM3500.
(4) SC JOP, eyeing extra CB from the spin game.
(5) Bigpay.

Thanks bro, I will go for  5. BP is still d best. FCB n JOP fully used up in BP top-up this month.
*
In case you may apply for GST refund... bring a less useful CC as well. Avoid FCB VS, Cash rebate CC, BP.
