Many don't have licenses, got 'lesen terbang' and/or are just road bullies by nature. This goes for both cars and bikes.

During traffic jams, I've been harrassed by other riders for lanesplitting at slow speeds (around 30~40km/h if traffic is at standstill, which is my comfort zone). They will usually stay just behind my rear mudguard and flash their headlights or honk to pressure me to move aside or speed up - I never speed up. As soon as I see room to move aside, I let them pass. But if there's no room, too bad for them.

The more annoying ones are the ones who do this same tailgating maneuver to try to force me to speed up/move aside when on those single-lane motorcycle lanes that go around toll plazas. Those paths are narrow, and I usually slow down to about 40~50km/h, or even less if the road is wet. But there will be some riders who insist on taking those roads at 70km/h or above and 'layan corner' like they're on a circuit.

Being a defensive, safe rider in Malaysia is very difficult because of road users like these adding a layer of pressure. Just have to remind yourself that at the end of the day, the most skilled road rider is the one who gets home safe, not the one who gets home the fastest.
*
Well said and it is more difficult for me to lane split due to my bike's size. I just ignore the tailgaters and honking or flashing lights and maintain the speed I am comfortable with because as you have said, the better rider is always the one who gets to reach home safely.

guys, Quick question about tyres: Between these two, which would you recommend: Battlax bt020 and battlax t31. Need a replacement rear tyre as it just has a puncture. Main riding would be city riding and sometimes on highways. Also do I need to replace both tyres or can I change only the rear?

BT is a real old model. T31 much better

They are that old?  shocking.gif I guess they still do make them as the shop recommended them to me.
*
Do check the year of manufacture though... there's a long line of models that came after the BT020, BT023, then T30, T30 EVO and now T31 if I am not mistaken. Guys do correct me if I'm wrong please... I'm riding on the T30 EVO but I read that the T31 improves grip when cold due to slightly different compound used. My bike was equipped with the BT023 if I'm not mistaken and this was back in 2012 when the bike was new

Out of curiosity, does anyone here have any experience or know anyone who bought a Malaysia-registered CB400 Super Four? I know the maintenance is hell compared to a Ninja 400 or Z400, but that VTEC sound is drool.gif

There are some on Sayapniaga Mudah page going for around 30k - so called stock clearance. Most seem to be pre 2014 facelift with the 3 spoke rims and lack of gear indicator.
*
Thanks for posting sth!

Sayapniaga has more stuff on their FB page too. Go check it out. They had a few units of Bol d'or. Looking really cool lah. But the guy is really sticking to his price...I was thinking, for that price, better I stick to my 600 but if I don't hv a bike at the moment, I would definitely consider a Bol d'or! Sending you a few pix to whet your appetite!

Hmmm, the red bike with the multi spoke rims has a fairing that looks slightly different...hmmm...

Ooo, just found out the multi spoke rim bike is the 2019 version...

for inline4 the bigger the capacity the better it sounds..

compare the sound of zx2r 250cc with a hayabusa.. can hear the difference very clearly

so a z900 will sound better than a cb4...

Mine is the worst. Still on stock exhaust. All it sounds like is "wheeze wheeze" when I rev it! biggrin.gif It is due to the US ride by noise regulations

Quote from article above.
" While it doesn't yet have a name, Harley-Davidson promises that the bike will "embody a distinctive look, sound and feel." Both the bike and its engine will be built at a Qianjiang factory in China. This is a promising market for H-D, which saw its Chinese retail sales grow 27 percent in 2018 over the year before..."

OK

Aih? Under 50k is hardly affordable but I wouldn't call it bangsawan.
How do you view it as bangsawan? I thought it's just based on the price tag of a bike.

What bikes LYN group use? Maybe this would give me a better perspective.

i bought my current bike tru mudah.my

but as a sane person, i did call the owner and we meet and see the bike 1st. satisfied, i asked how much and we nego from there.

went to jpj at the same time (because im selling my bike to cover for the new bike) and rest of it is as easy going for me.

i bought parts also from mudah but that one took 2 weeks because of the out of stock. but then again nothing but good experience also.

i would definitely buy my bike/car from mudah again. But then again i just usually COD and see what i want to buy 1st (except for parts lah)
*
I sold my car and bike on Mudah. I also bought stuff too. So far, I've never come across any scammers and have had good experience with the sellers and buyers there. Some people just listen to too many stories...

Glad that you and the other posters have not had any problems with them.

To respond to the jab at me there: in my case it wasn't just 'listening to too many stories'. The scammers actually contacted me when I was selling something there a year or two ago. Later, when I talked to my friends about it, they confirmed that they have had similar things happen to them too.

So no need to make light of others' bad experiences, yeah? It's not my intention to make the site look bad, because it's still a very useful tool. However I, personally, am averse to using it to sell items because of the above reason.
One of the methods they used I have mentioned in a previous post. I was selling an old handheld console, and the scammer Whatsapped me with a fake Maybank successful transaction screen. Sent me the address for me to post the item.

The other, which I have gotten through the mudah chat system is some person contacting me from an African country. It looked fishy so I never even responded to it.

EDIT: Another user here mentioned being contacted from Nigeria when selling expensive items. That sounds similar to the second method, but the item I was selling at the time was under RM500.
*
Now that you mentioned it...you're right as well. There WERE a few fellas who contacted me, but these were a few years ago when I was selling my furniture as I was shifting to another place. Some joker asked me to send my sofa to the US as he was buying for his son in college...in the US! I said that it would be much cheaper for him to just buy a sofa there! And some were yup, like you said from Nigeria too. But thankfully I don't get these anymore these days.

The person who was listening to too many stories,...well, I was referring to my friend instead. No hard feelings ya!

19 big bikes burnt to a crisp, including mine.

Now I got no bike and it's becoming a royal pain in the arse getting my ass to the office.

Tapi seteruk2 aku, teruk lagi owner bengkel. His only consolation is that nobody died. My consolation is, nasib baik motor aku bukan superbike mahal yg hutang bank puluh ribu sampai 6 tahun. Tapi melopong gak aa hangus tetap hangus...

Kena korek-korek bawah sofa cari duit tercicir utk bikin tabung beli motor lain...

Sorry to hear that bro. Hope you can find a replacement soon. Regarding the Suzuki, while it is pretty decent with the electronics etc. offered shops fellas always say for the same money, a Z900 is better value.

MissendenFlyer recently reviewed these bikes and mentioned that the engines are China-made. I have doubts as to how reliable they'd be despite the BMW branding...

I think the price here will start at over RM60k, so definitely can't compete with MT09.
*
Same price as an MT09 in the UK. Not bad. Unfortunately, it won't be happening here...

if air freight and the parts more than 500 MYR..pray hard it will stuck at KLIA kastam.. then when you received the letter to collect there..

Try to go during Friday Noon.. most of the staff there are Ladies from Kastam manned the booth.. use your sweet talk with them says you buy for bike part, since without it wont run etc2.. (and dont forget to smile)...chances max to pay is the 10% SST .. not including the 26% of import duties..

Else you will be at mercy of the Logistic company. .but perhaps can appeal as mentioned here before..

Need advice here.

Thinking of getting a bike, for daily commuting to work. Juz around 20km.

Rite now i can afford cb650r or rebel 500. But i dun plan to ride long distance.

I know its a diff segment bike.

So which one better? Im eyeing for cb650r, but dunno worth it or not juz for riding around town n going to work .

Thnx
*
Riding around town and going to work, the Rebel may be better. Lower seat height will make it a bit more manoeuvrable. The CB IMHO, is more of a corner carver. Your choice. Just my 2 sen worth.
