Hi I've got a pretty simple question and I don't really feel like opening up a thread just for the sake of it and I don't really know where else to post this question.

Where can I find a decent guitar strap with shoulder pads? Planet Waves stock these straps but I was told the strap locks rub against the guitar and may cause damage thru extended use. And the ones without strap locks, come without the shoulder pads either... doh.gif

Mu budget is well..hopefully something not beyond RM100.00 la tongue.gif

My apologies to Mr Blacktrix in advance if this question is in the wrong place.

If you're planning on gigging, you must DEFINITELY practice standing up.
Or heck, even jamming sessions, you better learn to play standing.......

yup jamming sessions i stand. but gotta work on my wrist cuz when i play standing the guitar is lower than when i sit which is very high in comparison

Added on April 22, 2007, 6:33 pmalso when standing, is there a different approach to palm muting and strumming? since the guitar is lower/angled

Solution : Wear your strap up high so the guitar is at the same/almost the same angle as it is sitting down!

that'll be REALLY high like those jazz players? i mean because when i play sitting down i tend to hunch(trying to improve on that) and its pretty uncomfortable to play with a high strap..

I just play with my guitar high up...its pretty comfortable, and can reach the upper frets easier.

practice makes perfect..my guitar height is totally different when i'm play sitting and standing... laugh.gif it's very close to me when i sit, and when i stand, the upper 'horn' of my guitar will be at my navel...so far no problem playing stuff...only thing need to work on is consistency and accuracy... nod.gif

just watch how low james hetfield's guitar is while he's standing and you will know everything is possible~

when u play any V shape model while sitting, u can always hang the guitar with the strap so that it wont slip.
