aik....missing 't' there.I mean you should enable TxBF. It will improve 5Ghz signal strength.
UniFi's TP-Link Routers C5, C7 & C1200, Newer is not better.

Jjuggler.....so, about that TM BETA firmware posted by mmrd2 at your site........I would really suggest people NOT to install it.
There are few questionable content in that firmware. edit: About your backdoor comment....yes, tr069 is enabled by default for TM BETA firmware. Something is fishy about plugin_config too. Didn't check them all yet. And our most hated unifi ssid prefix ![]() This post has been edited by JohnLai: Jan 12 2018, 09:02 PM |

QUOTE(trisx @ Jan 14 2018, 10:34 PM) When you setting up your ppoe connection from fresh, you will be prompt to select your connection type. When you choose ppoe, you will be given a list of pre-define profile which includes "Unifi - Malaysia". When you select the profile, your router's LAN 1 will be automatically reserved for iptv. If you chose custom profile, then you can define the vlan id and tick the 802.11 tag and you can proceed to the next phase of your router setup. Beta firmware user here. So far i never face a single problem with hypptv. the only thing is, my ethernet lan cable for hypptv breaks out. need to replace it soon. |

http://community.linksys.com/t5/Wireless-R...260723?nobounce
QUOTE Today I am happy to announce firmware to help resolve the issues that people have been running into with their WRT routers with networks that have Android devices on them. I will keep the overall description short here, but this firmware incorporates a new WLAN driver that will help mitigate an issue that was discovered where Android devices coming in and out of sleep mode would crash the Wireless Network. https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi/OrbiO...-1/td-p/1476960 QUOTE The Orbi team at NETGEAR is aware that some users are experiencing higher than expected Orbi Router reboots, special characters in WiFi Passwords and WiFi / Internet disconnects. Seem like not only TP-Link is affected by wifi/router restart issue which is caused by Google Cast as described at http://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-2050.html |

So the problem comes from "cast" feature? Does that mean everyone who has a problem with the C1200 over here has a google chromecast or cast enabled device? I do have one so seriously wondering that.

I do have one so seriously wondering that. Yes. Every android with Google Home also has the "cast" issue. One of the affected device is enough to trigger random router restart or WLAN hanging.https://www.theregister.co.uk/2018/01/15/ro...traffic_floods/ https://www.myce.com/news/confirmed-issue-g...nd-world-83428/ https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/7...roblems_linked/ https://www.reddit.com/r/Chromecast/comment...roblems_linked/ edit: Now based on TP-Link response from theregister, I quote "the burst will fill up the router's memory and leave a reboot the only option to restore connectivity." , this explain why I notice C1200 RAM suddenly maxed out as if there is memory leak leading to random reboot. TP-Link managed to identify the issue and have produced an official fix.
Apparently, it was caused by Android and Chromecast. http://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-2050.html |

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Jan 16 2018, 09:59 AM) TP-Link managed to identify the issue and have produced an official fix. Hi bro, it is only for US firmware unfortunately and TP Link does have a disclaimer that if there are any warranty issues and your firmware does not correspond on what is released for your local version, it voids the warranty so I wouldn’t update the firmware yet until it is released for the Malaysian website.Apparently, it was caused by Android and Chromecast. http://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-2050.html |
