wah..my last nite transactions not yet captured in m2u...

if captured today..then wasted my cb
*
Last night should be OK. It will take some time to be posted.

QUOTE(Vio @ Jun 19 2017, 01:32 PM)
are you referring to like transaction was made on 18.6.17 (sunday) but on 19.6.17 monday only was reflected in statement?

will the transaction then be counted on 18.6.17 or 19.6.17 for the 5% ?
*
What matters is transaction date, it can be posted later but transaction date is still 18th June, still entitles for cash back.
Posting date is only important if you want to maximize cash back and at the last few days of the month, if it is not posted in the same month, it will be calculated as following month's quota.

according to fruitie what matters is the transaction date , so even if its 11.59 its still counted that day too not?

Unless the merchant terminal is at different timezone, like in Japan and Australia which are ahead of us. laugh.gif

Submitted my CL increase on Tuesday's evening and it was increased yesterday! That was quick. Again, it's so stingy on CL. Only RM 3k increase. laugh.gif doh.gif

Just activated my platinum cards after requested for upgrade via email.

For the existing gold cards do I need to request for cancelation? Or it's automatic?
*
My cards were activated at KLCC, the place where I got my upgraded cards. The officer helped me to activate and my Gold cards were deactivated, not sure if manually did it because some forummers here still have their Gold cards active but cash back is combined at RM 50 max.
Nevertheless, even if it's cancelled, it may still be shown in your M2U, you will need to call CS to remove it from M2U. I did it because I prefer neat looking screen and will not confuse myself when I make payment via M2U.

If upgrade to platinum, any increase in CL? Other difference?
*
Mine increased automatically. Minimum for Plat was 15k according to the officer, I got it and subsequently I applied another CL increase three months after that. So I guess if your current CL has achieved that, it may not increase another round. I came from RM 10k.

Differences can refer to post #1. Mainly is the travel insurance which is not important for me because I have company's travel insurance or will buy my own travel insurance when I travel for leisure. The coverage is pretty limited last I read in this thread.

However, I only appreciate the higher CL increase and also the shared hotline with VS cardholders. Can skip all the selections compared to calling its general line. The dedicated hotline itself justifies the upgrade, at least for me.

Wow, thats good enough! Can we get upgrade at those instant approval branch (klcc, OU, etc) in 1 hour also. If at normal branch, will take few days right.
*
Upgrade cannot be instantly, so no matter what you have to wait for few days. At least that's what I know.

I'm not sure what's the practice now but mine was indeed increased to 15k that time, in early 2015.

i bought from emirates early this month, on a saturday, around 3am... when it appears online in the statement, it shows as friday as well sad.gif
*
It depends where their payment gateway server is located at. If Emirates, since their base is at Dubai, I will assume they may follow Dubai's time zone which is 4 hours behind Malaysia.

So to play safe, I usually pay on Saturday's evening, by then even the latest time zone is already on Saturday.

Most airlines online payment gateway is in the US, so they all follow US time zone. This also applies to Malaysia Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Japan Airlines, EVA Air etc online booking. If you want to book a Malaysia Airlines ticket online on a Saturday with your MBB2 AMEX and get 5% cash back, always buy your ticket after 2pm on Saturday Malaysian time. But to be absolutely safe, buy it after 6pm on Saturday.
*
Fortunately for me back in 2014 when I bought MAS ticket on Saturday's noon, it was captured as weekend, I remember it quite clearly due to the significance of this trip. sweat.gif I believe they may have already changed their server.

Pledging an FD? Like a guarantee? This looks interesting... is there a time limit for that? I mean like after a year you can withdraw your FD and remain using the card? And will the FD get interest?
*
Pledging FD is a guarantee basically bank is not offering you any limit. Well, once you uplift, your card will be cancelled too. So, in a way you will need to keep the FD for your card to stay active.
Yes, you will earn interest based on board rate.

can someone kindly explain to me how do i clear of my statement balance please? i transferred the amount twice, money was deducted but the amount is still there.
*
Statement balance will not be shown as reduced... Check out your outstanding balance as it will be reduced.
Click on your CC transactions and you will see money is in already provided you are using M2U (instantly) or IBFT or GIRO later.

QUOTE(ZeroSOFInfinity @ Jun 28 2017, 11:27 AM)
Actually, after knowing that I can use a FD to "gain" a credit card, I am looking for one which would maximize my cashback, or earn lots of points for redemption purposes. It seems that CIMB Cashback, Wise by Hong Leong and HSBC Platinum fits my criteria, and Maybank 2 cards looks very unattractive now.

Besides, I need to put some cash in FD for about 5 years, so the liquidity is not a problem for the moment.
*
I wonder why M2Cards looks unattractive now? Despite having so many different cards, it is my most favourite card now. I have CIMB CR, used to have HLB Wise but after its revision to RM 2k for RM 100 cash back, it is no longer attractive to me. I boycott all HSBC cards, their cash back is not true cash back %.

Moreover not all banks allow FDs pledging for CC application, you may need to check out those banks.
