michael, i also got K750i. i think naturally u would be comfortable going with P1i. i personally don't prefer smartphones becoz of lack of touch screen. whether it's WM or symbian based nowadays both have similar function & capability. so it comes down to the physical side of it. for example whether u prefer qwerty or normal phone button, use one hand or 2 hand to type. i think so far p1i is the one for me but i can still wait

using it for the 1st day now.
im very new to touchscreen pda so might take a while for me to get used to it. i was a K800i user hence i found during sms-ing the joystick very confortable to scroll up & down, for this there's only left & right & enter (for down) there's no going up, unless u use the stylus. not used to qwerty keyboard yet. not recommending for big fat fingers. you need fingernail to type. |

kylie, it has scroll button at the side for up & down function. maybe that's even better than the joystick up-down

QUOTE(fx_53_xt @ Sep 13 2007, 12:40 PM) but i've reading some feedback regarding martin field SP for p1i are too thick that they did actually affect the sensitivity Hmm... Been using MFSPs on my previous devices and no complaints. In fact it performs better than the normal SPs.http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?t...=153661&start=0 edited : links QUOTE(kylielmf @ Sep 13 2007, 04:06 PM) using it for the 1st day now. Exactly. I did that on my M600i and now on my P1i. I love the keyboard so much that I decided to sell my K800i and buy the P1i. |

michael, as i mentioned previously. WM & symbian nowadays already have similar functionality like sync email/calendar/contacts between PC & device, also read/open office documents (excel/words..). games also available in both versions. it's a matter of familiarity with the OS. i'm more familiar with WM since been using my trusty h4150 PDA for 3 yrs but i'm willing to venture into symbian possibly with this p1i. between HTC & SE, the more significant issue would be the physical nature like if use both hand for typing. HTC/dopod with sliding qwerty is also in my radar but after thinking i must use 2 hand operation, i think it's not for me. that part only u can decide.

QUOTE(michael9413 @ Sep 14 2007, 10:26 AM) Sonyclie, IMO, get WM is you're a heavy PIM user. WM has more to offer in terms of 3rd party applications for various uses. But the lack of a keyboard in most WM devices make it a pain to type a long essay (if you do that often) or maybe just type a simple SMS. Phone features are the most basic in WM devices.which Operating System should i get.. .WM or Symbian??? I'm planning to get one but duno should get HTC or SE??? Whereas UIQ devices are more phone-centric, whereby it's a phone first only a PDA. So it excels in telephony features. Ease of use is the most important point here. 3rd party apps are not that many, and most probably you'll have to be contented with the default ones. |
