I get myself organized via a Diary during college days. Handphones, are a luxury to me back then.

Having a 3.2MP camera doesn't mean that it's going to be better than the 903SH. Just look at the N73, K800i, they're not as good as the 903SH IMO.

the touch screen will easily spoilt?

Judging from past SE touch screen based phones, it can last quite a long time, unless you drop it or water somehow got into your phone.

P1i's price dropped again in SG?

That's not a good sign.

I wonder what's causing it to drop like nobody's business in such a short period.

do the touch screen still sensitive enuff after a screen protector put on it???
*
Touch screen's sensitivity are not supposed to be affected by applying a screen protector on it.

The many touch screen based phones I've used proves that, including my current M600i and possibly upcoming P1i. tongue.gif

Hmm... Been using MFSPs on my previous devices and no complaints. In fact it performs better than the normal SPs.

QUOTE(kylielmf @ Sep 13 2007, 04:06 PM)
using it for the 1st day now.
im very new to touchscreen pda so might take a while for me to get used to it.

i was a K800i user hence i found during sms-ing the joystick very confortable to scroll up & down, for this there's only left & right & enter (for down) there's no going up, unless u use the stylus.

not used to qwerty keyboard yet. not recommending for big fat fingers. you need fingernail to type.
*
I use my finger to type, not the fingernail as it's very short. tongue.gif

QUOTE(fx_53_xt @ Sep 13 2007, 07:53 PM)
i found out that instead of using fingernail to press the particular alphabet, it is more convenient that you put the whole finger on the key and slide it left or right.
*
Exactly. I did that on my M600i and now on my P1i. tongue.gif

I love the keyboard so much that I decided to sell my K800i and buy the P1i. tongue.gif

Sonyclie,
which Operating System should i get.. .WM or Symbian???
I'm planning to get one but duno should get HTC or SE???
*
IMO, get WM is you're a heavy PIM user. WM has more to offer in terms of 3rd party applications for various uses. But the lack of a keyboard in most WM devices make it a pain to type a long essay (if you do that often) or maybe just type a simple SMS. Phone features are the most basic in WM devices.

Whereas UIQ devices are more phone-centric, whereby it's a phone first only a PDA. So it excels in telephony features. Ease of use is the most important point here. 3rd party apps are not that many, and most probably you'll have to be contented with the default ones.

Choose according to your needs and preferences. smile.gif

QUOTE(rickrick @ Sep 18 2007, 11:18 PM)
does this pda has video calls?
*
Yes mate. smile.gif

By the way, I'm satisfied with the current firmware my P1i has as it's faster and more stable.

I had a bad experience with my M600i with Chinese firmware, so much so that I flashed it to English only.

I need to read Chinese, therefore I already installed some Chinese fonts whereby I now can read Chinese but cannot Write.

Good enough for me. smile.gif

i think we have to wait its firmware to be more stable...
would it hang???
*
The current firmware is dead stable. No hangs at all during my 1 week of usage! And I don't restart my phone at all.

I also didn't install Swiss Manager, yet. tongue.gif Yet it's still rock stable! thumbup.gif

QUOTE(dantwt @ Sep 26 2007, 07:33 PM)
looking forward to getting a p1i soon..
jus wondering if the touch screen is finger sensitive... as in the touchscreen can be operated by fingers instead of stylus without hassle. any comments? (comparing with HTC TOUCH which is finger friendly on the screen)

and i cant seem to find any D-pad on the p1i. does this means dat all the navigation must be done on the touchscreen? does it performs well ?

lastly, text input!!. how many types of text input is available? eg. qwerty? summore?

thanx in advance guys.. hope to join this club soon!
*
As the icons are pretty big, finger navigation is possible. But there'll be smudges all around the touch screen and I don't like to see that on my unit. tongue.gif

There's no D-pad, but there's a jog-dial, which is pretty functional and can do lots of things. smile.gif Otherwise, use the stylus to scroll. smile.gif

OK text input, there's the QWERTY keyboard, handwriting recognition and virtual keyboard. smile.gif

ok thanx for replying.
is the handwritting recognition similar to the "transcriber" on pda's?

one more ques. is there any software dat enables us to use MSN/Yahoo Messenger Chat?(of coz connection using wifi)  if any, pls introduce..
*
It's better than Transcriber on PPC IMO.

For Instant Messaging, you can try Fring. smile.gif
