Actually, a hatch back car like the myvi can go outstation.
Just pack accordingly and manage ur expecting.
If fold down back seats, can actually carry more stuff than the bezza.

No matter what, I have had enough of protons la..
The mitsubishi ones are OK..
But the power window mechanism, door handles, and some other parts from the oem suppliers really kill the brand..
Really hopeless..
Hope they die now that geely take over..
They really have no pride in their work..
The oem I mean.
I had 2 protons that rusted worse than olden 1970s Italian cars man..
And we're talking about 1990s cars..
When their sales were way up there, they were damn lansi man..
Now wanna beg us to buy..
Sorry la...
Go drink some more of your cool-aid.

I like Proton , but drive bezza , because doing grab , perodua still the best to go haha
*
says alot right...?
that you drive and own a perodua rather than a proton.. hehhe

sorry for my out burst...
but i really am not into proton after all those years of having to deal with their oem stuff..
oh... did i forget to mention their/aisin auto gearboxes??
in just the wira alone, i went thru 4 auto gearboxes in the 15 years we had the wira 1.5....

confidence in them? the "we are the new proton" by line.... LOL

this is my 1st perodua.
still too early to know the maintenance costs yet...

Hi, thinking of getting a used Perodua car as a starter car for my son. Just for him getting from his college to home, stuff like that.

Just learned about the Perodua pre-owned vehicles (POV) center, are the cars there better than regular 2nd hand dealers?
*
Do the cars still have warranty?
If not, then it pays to get a pro mechanic to check the car out.

From what i read, all cars there there have an 18 month warranty.

Also they check all cars thoroughly with their 165- point check (whatever that means).

At this point i'm very interested in looking there, but still appreciate any feedback.
*
Oooo..
18 month warranty??!
That's great!
More than what you'll get from a second hand dealer (if any, that's wort it)
But bring someone along to do a visual if the car tracks true or drives like a crab (meaning major accident and a bent frame /chassis).
Minor accidents are not as bad.
And the gear box. Major item.

Just curious, how much are the cars there?

But confirm the price will be higher than usual 2nd hand dealers. Worth it?
*
not sure man...
but definitely worth looking at cos buying from manufacturer...
warranty oso from them.. that in itself is worth alot.
pending what they offer la...

my kid oso gonna start driving in about 2 years and off to college (if he scores high enuf la, lol)
i'm in the same boat as u.. lol
but i'll be getting it later or mabbe pass the bezza to him..

then i'll get myself something else... got excuse, hehhehehe
but just mabbe only la... see how finances then..
cross the bridge when i come to it..

if ur kid is going to school close by (meaning still live at home)
then look at it from a perspective as all the cars/vehicle u have at home as a fleet.
interchangeable, and having different types of cars, ie, hatchback, sedan, van/mpv, etc..
correct tool for the job, like running to shops to tapau lunch, no need a 1.5k cc or a 2.0 cc
just a 1.0 will do the job nicely..

i just followed my fren to nibong tebal USM, where his kid is studying and bringing all the barang back due to closure of school hostel,
in that matter, he got his kid an all rounder car, meaning long distance, eco, cheap maintenance, etc...
cos that 1 car was all the kid had to use.

u in kl man?
when u go see show room, see how, if we can match orbits, then go see together..
if not, no biggie...

I remember reading somewhere that the bezza has an auto head light off function.
Tested the car with fog and pilot light on after switching engine off, but after 3 minutes, the lights still on..
So, no auto off??
Hmmmm..
Be careful when leaving the lights on when parking... Else, dead battery next day.

Painful topic,
Now new bezza no GST.
Our cars with GST will also drop by 6% on the used car market.
We have to absorb the loss.
I just saw an add for a Nissan almera E for rm 56k+..
Used to be in the 70k region...

Sigh...

don't feel so sad, i personally don't think it affects the rv in long term unless you really wanna sell your car after like three years, to make you feel better, imagine those who bought premium cars or c segment cars. lol
if you can live with troublesome wheel bearing, or fan relay, almera is your best partner. biggrin.gif
*
aaaaaaaaahhahhahahahha..
ya hor... forgot about the almera's problems (when i was researching cars to buy)

anyway... welcome to a brand new msia... still the same, but new... lol

remapping is really different due to difference in preference of drivers. some aim for power some aim for fuel economy.
imagine if the engine able to deliver max torque @3000rpm (while the max torque value maintains the same), you will feel the difference immediately.
but i heard remapping doesn't come cheap at all.
*
ya man...
expensive

the alfa romeo community has a dutch tuner who was really good...
his work of balancing all the different aspects of the twin spark alfa engines was like an art form..

quite some people can tune...
but not many people can tune well..
