No difference at all.

I just bought another switch lite (Pokémon) for my brother with 1 year maxsoft warranty for about RM650 from qishan.

Seems like the price hike doesn’t affect switch lite.

Memory cards aren’t too expensive.
But you can always get them when you need them.

As for controllers.
You can’t go wrong with 8bitdo.
But I usually recommend getting a second set of joycons for those party games if you are into it.

I don’t have that many second hand games.
But if I have to, I usually just buy them from Carousell and I only do so for games that are more than 6 months old so the price is even lower.

You have to be a bit careful with second hand games.
As people might have exported/dump the games for CFW use. And if Nintendo catch hold of it, the cartridge might be rendered invalid. Hacked switches isn’t widespread in Malaysia but if the Carousell seller is also selling/listing hacked switch stuff, you gotta be careful.

Depends on the game.
Some games like Pokémon do not support cloud save.
So you’ll need to transfer the save file manually by having both switch on and initiating it. It requires the internet and it’s troublesome.

You can stick to a single user but if someone else (spouse/relative/friend) wants to play it, best to create a second account.

You can play both games at the same time if you have 2 separate accounts. I’m not too sure if one of them needs to be offline, I’ll need to check.

You can only transfer saves among the same account.
You can’t transfer saves to a secondary account.
This refers to your profile that you set up on your switch.

As for your second point.
Here is what I know for certain.
If the primary console remains offline, it can run the game.
Then your secondary console (constant internet connection, Nintendo online not required), can also run the game.

But I’m not sure if you’ll be kicked out on the second console the moment the primary console goes online.

If I’ve time, I’ll check this later tonight.

Here is what I’ve tried.
OG switch - non primary account
Switch lite - primary account

Game tested was Digital Megaman 11 purchased on my primary Canadian account.

First test - Both Switch online - same account.
Launch the game on OG switch with my Canadian account.
Then Launch the same game on my Switch lite with the same Canadian account.

After a minute, my switch lite was kicked out.


Second test - both switch online - diff account.
Again, after a minute, my switch lite was kicked out.


Third test - Switch lite offline. OG switch online.
Manage to launch and play the game on both switches. Regardless of accounts used.


Forth test - both switch online - same account - different games.
OG switch gets kicked out.

Fifth test - both switch online - diff account - diff games.
No issues. Can play both games with no issues.
OG Switch is playing on primary account.
Switch lite is playing on secondary JP account.

It’s not too bad for regular games.
One person stick to one account.

But for some games, it’s outright impossible to transfer save file. Like animal crossing. Whichever console start with, I’m stuck with that.

Hoping that it’ll be flexible. The local multiplayer is very tempting.

Screen protector is a necessity as switch screens are plastic.

These account sharing deals will require you to
- go online when launching the game. If you’re on the plane or anywhere with no internet, too bad you can’t play that game.
- no DLCs. If you’re the type who likes extra content, this will not work.
- no online play. In fact you’ll probably need to immediately go offline after launching the game.
- no save file transfer or backup. If the account is gone, your save file is gone. No way to back it up.

Of course there is also the risk of the account stop working which other have mentioned. This is also against Nintendo TOS. Though extremely unlikely, might get your device banned as well.

With all these limitations, it’s no different from actually going full lanun (which I don’t recommend and a sure fire way to get your switch banned)

Yeap. I wouldn't recommend it as well.
I’ve played my Launch day switch for hours on end without any overheating issues. Fan does goes a bit loud, but no crashes.

Just like with other consoles, placing additional cooler just makes your dock bulky without actually lowering the temp.

Been encountering error
2002-2961 on my Fire Emblem 3 houses cartridge.
Problem solved when I eject and reinserted the game.
But it'll occur every 2-3 hours of gameplay, making me lose all my progress from my last save.

I'm guessing there is something wrong with the cartridge/contacts.
One of the risk of buying second hand games...

Depends on how you intend to use it.
If you plan to use it as a handheld completely, go for the switch lite. It’s about half the price of a new switch and it’s lighter too.

If you do like party games or a bit, couch multiplayer or even using it as a regular console, get the switch V2

V2 has better battery compared to the V1. They’re about the same price anyway.

A modded switch is basically a switch on airplane mode constantly. NSO won’t do you any good.

For dead/hot pixels, it has to be above a certain amount.
If it’s just one pixel, unlikely they’ll accept it back unless you return it immediately at the shop.

Where did you buy it from?

What game did they provide? It better be AAA titles worth RM200+ each


If you can return it, just return it. Then wait 2 months and get a new unit for less than Rm2k.

I have seen people selling unpatched V1 switch for more than RM2.7k.
Given that how a new switch might be released next year, spending so much in one now isn’t worth it.

It’s a shared account.
Not shared with just 2 players but with many.
They expect you to go online, launch the game. And then go offline.

- can only play with an internet connection
- might sometimes fail to launch the game (as there are others too)
- very likely for the account to be banned or password changed. You lose your save file then and access to the game.
- cannot use your own account. Which means no cloud save.
- you cannot download any dlc or play online.
- Nintendo might change policy and require semi regular internet connections. In that case, you will also lose access.

Yes. You can use the same account on both switches.
Save files are all stored locally. So even if it uploads new save to the cloud, it will not affect any local saves.

The switch will not automatically update local data with cloud data.

And AC save is tied to the system save. It’s not even saved in the same folder as other games.
