when i log into the new switch do I have to choose to setup the new switch by transferring everything from the old switch or is there an option where i can still use both switch together?
*
I do not transfer.
Transferring of save files will delete the saves on your previous switch. I don’t really see a point in that.

I just set up as new switch but login to my existing account.
Then head to the e-shop and redownload all my games.

QUOTE(xswatch @ May 7 2020, 02:43 PM)
guys. newbies to nintendo world here. just bought 3 switch last week (1 v2 & 2 lite). so far i think I'm already invested too much due to boredom caused by mco+cb. my only question is, how do i check for 56k ohm resistor inside type c cable? i bought several PD cable from ugreen & baseus (30w & 100w one). is this cable safe to be use to charge my switch? my plan is:

xiaomi 18w pd powerbank + 30w baseus/ugreen pc cable >>> to charge switch lite

zmi 65w pd wall charger + 100w baseus/ugreen pd cable >>> for my switch v2 on docking mode

xiaomi pb3pro 45w powerbank + 100w baseus/ugreen cable >>> for my switch v2 while in the go (not docking mode)

can help to advise me is this setup is safe or dangerous? tks so much in advanced smile.gif
*
Third party chargers will likely work without issue in the short term.
Problem is in the long term as the trickle charge is considerably higher than the standard power supply. This meant it’ll slowly kill your battery life if you leave it in after 100% charge.

I am interested, want to ask let say my switch got 2 user profile (nintendo acc). Do I need 2 online membership or just one?
*
Do you go online with just one user profile or both?
If it’s both, you need 2 online membership.

Anyone knows if the Switch price gonna turn back as usual?
*
For it to return back to December 2019 price levels,
I'm guessing early 2021 when Switch Pro is announced.

can anyone help me on this?
*
1. Check the serial number to see how old the switch actually is.
Also, unpatchable early version of switch are worth more than even the latest V2 AC switch.

2. As usual, just check the main console. Make sure it can be switched on, run on games and connect to nintendo online (not banned).
Also make sure no scratches on the main screen. It's made of plastic and thus easily scratchable.

3. Check joycons for joycon drift. Check the buttons

4. Disconnect the joycons to ensure it can still be connected to the console. Some might have issues syncing.

5. Check headphone jack and memory card slot.

6. Ensure dock is working. You can't do it easily during COD, but this should be the first thing you check when you get back.

1. can u elaborate more on this?

2. ok

3. ok. I'll provide her youtube video on this. but how to check the buttons? what to check?

4. ok

5. check how?

6. ok. i might only get to hold the switch a month later.
*
1. Depending on the serial number, you can determine when was the switch made. If it’s really old or quite recent. Just google on how to cross check the serial number.

3. Just make sure there isn’t any joycon drift. Switch had a build in function to test the controller buttons. Just google it as well.

5. Plug in a sd card and a headphone to test. Unlikely this will spoil though, so it’s not high priority.

Called it.
Those who are looking for cheap “mass sharing” games are getting banned. The seller probably used shady websites like g2a or directly used stolen credit cards to purchase those games.

Here’s the kicker. Those accounts who have been banned are probably flagged months ago or even last year. So even if you delete those mass shared games now, you might still get banned.

Seems like they’re taking that really seriously.
More so than plain vanilla CFW (no cheats/piracy).
I’ve been online several times with my CFW switch to backup a few save files. No bans for that yet.

guys wanna ask, can we charge nintendo switch using the macbook usb type c cable? im new here
*
Do you mean directly from a MacBook charger?
I don’t recommend this.
It will work in a pinch but switch uses a different power delivery protocol.

thanks..how bout using jz the cable?
*
If it’s just the cable, it should be alright.
Some might say even the cable causes issues, but that’s coz of the cable poor quality.

Just got an Ethernet adapter for my switch.
Getting 6X higher speeds now at over 120mbps.

Downloading games is much faster.
Although the online check (to play on non primary switch) still takes the same time.

May I know which ethernet adapter you got and will it work with the Switch Lite?
*
I’ve gotten the UGREEN USB3.0 to 10/100/1000 Ethernet adapter. The usb is a standard usb A connector.

It doesn’t fit into the lite which uses usb c.
Hmm I don’t recommend using Ethernet with the switch lite.
Since that’s build for portability. I would tweak the 5ghz WiFi to lower frequencies so the switch lite can connect to it.

is now the right time to buy nintendo switch?
*
The best time to buy the switch was before covid19.
The second best time to buy the switch is now.

I doubt there will be a price drop anytime soon and with such a huge game library, it’s not a bad time to buy a switch.

Want to know,
The import set any cons?
Saw Lazada got several seller sell import set,
1.5+k,
Worth saving those 600~700 rm skip maxsoft warranty?
*
You just miss out on the warranty.

Both my switch (launch) and lite are import set.
No issues at all. But YMMV

After the warranty is over, both would have similar price anyway.

Manage to fix the SL and SR buttons on both my joycons.
Spend like Rm10+ on the replacement part.
The clickyness is definitely off and it feels mushy, but at least it works now.

Repairing it is easy. No soldering required, but those connectors can be really finicky.

Joycon started drifting. Any suggestions for fixing it or any recommendations on who can help fix it?
*
There a lot of quick fixes, like a quick recalibration via the settings.

But if all fails, the surefire way to fix it is to get those spare parts from lazada/shopee/etc.
Then just open your joycon and replace the joystick. No soldering required. It's pretty straightforward.

Oof. Already tried the recalibration thing. Also tried using compressed air.
Thought about replacing it myself but my my past experiences with attempted self repairs makes me uneasy with them.
*
I’m not that good with self repair either.
But joycons repair isn’t difficult. You just need patience and the right tools.
You’ve to use a lot of force and the wrong tools to damage the joycon.

Plenty of YouTube videos on this and some replacement set sold online even comes with the tools you need.

4k in docking mode...

but I doubt it can do native 4K or even 4K/60
most likely will be checkerboard 4K
the max FPS will be 4K/30 like the ex-gen PS4Pro/X1X
*
I’ll be really happy if it can even reach PS4pro level of performance.

720p at stable 60fps handheld
Or 900-1080p at stable 60fps docked would be a huge step up.

is it still worth it to buy V2 now? does switch have a lot of 60fps games now? I tried to search around already but wanted to ask from first hand experience
*
Switch price has stabilized so it’s a good time to buy.
Most games don’t run at 60fps now.
If that’s critical for you, you might want to wait for the switch pro which is slated to be announced later this year.

Seems like we will be getting switch 2 next year.

I do hope they have backwards compatibility.
Playing Zelda TOTK at 60fps would be nice.
