QUOTE(harizdesu @ May 4 2017, 11:57 AM) ![]() Okay, now that I have had a few days testing, I think I can give a better impression of how it operates. In short, as long as the battery and USB port on the MegaVolt holds up as well as the Nugget's (and not like the horrific disaster of the MiniVolt V1), it's an awesome mini-mod and a worthy successor to the MiniVolt. As for a detailed pro/con: PRO: 1) Hits DAMN hard for a mini mod (at least in power mode) 2) Battery life (around 3-4 hours straight w/o Auto-Off@50w) is much better than Nugget V1 (1-2 hours@50w) 3) Built quality is SOLID (zero rattles) and very handy design 4) TC works decently (at least in SS, limits properly though less smooth then DNA) 5) Resistance reading on par with my Nano 6) Preheat settings are nice to have 7) Being able to TURN OFF AUTO-OFF (latest revision) 8) Decent looking 510 connection CONS: 1) Screen is tiny and placement makes it prone to condensation 2) Dat bottom microUSB port 3) Quick Charging is very much just a gimmick (mana mau cari 3A charger haaaaa, plus putting 3A through to a sub-2000mA battery might not be the wisest thing to do in the long run) 4) No resistance (or TCR) adjustments 5) No DIRECT temp/wattage adjustment (need to press Fire + Up FIRST every time) So, is the MegaVolt good enough to dethrone the Nugget as mini mod king? Well, as a mini mod for secondary use, yeah it does. It hits hard, is build well and performs consistently. As a primary mod it frankly lacks the settings flexibility, but heck, who the hell buys these tiny things as a PRIMARY mod anyway? This post has been edited by Eiraku: May 4 2017, 01:23 PM |

QUOTE(harizdesu @ May 4 2017, 01:29 PM) wow, very detail! In short, no. Not as a primary use mod. As a secondary dripper or backup mod yeah it's good. But like I said, as a primary it's too feature limited IMHO. Besides the 80W max, it's barely an upgrade over your DNA40. Plus the internal sub-18650 battery won't last that long under constant use really.currently i'm using sbody dna40 (yes, its my main mod so, i'm thinking to switch to another mini mod.. maybe mega volt might be a worth to replace my sbody?.. what do u think?.. If you want a primary upgrade, get the S-Body Macro DNA75 or the VapeCige SD Mini 75 or the Nano or something bro. Might seem a bit steep to go up to a DNA75 device, but it's worth the investment... and size-wise it's pretty hard to beat those three up there. DNA60 is also good and small but there's a lack of "reasonably" priced good 60 Mods at the moment (ehem... Epetite... ehem) so I'll just not say anything. Orrrrrr, you can just get a Pico. It's a decent small mod that does everything OK. Built is decent and you gotta be careful of the janky 510 and liquid ingress (which killed my Pico), but otherwise it's pretty much the workhorse of the Tiny Brigade. Plus ArticWolf custom FW can make it kinda sorta a DNA. The Smok AL85? Avoid like the plague if you wanna do TC as the mod simply sucks at it. QUOTE(snake1983 @ May 3 2017, 05:56 PM) What is your mod ? you mean dual fused right? try 5 wrap 3mm make sure you able to fire high cause fused is kinda slow on ramp up. 4/5 wraps 3mm dual fused clapton, gives me 0.19 ohm, firing at 35 watts. i've never vaped below 0.5 ohms good flavor, liquids taste different from the normal subtank, but, it chugs liquid and not very batt friendly QUOTE(Eiraku @ May 3 2017, 05:55 PM) I don't think you should worry, supposedly the melting point of silicone rubber is about 572f... If it really is high grade silicone. Sos here: https://goo.gl/BMgekO tried 4/5 wraps at 3mm, gives me 0.37 ohms, vapes good at 30 watts, will take your advice for 6/7 wraps, has to use 4/5 wraps, coz i built it for ammit dual but the legs were to short for the dual, so dont want it to go waste. That said, yeah I prefer my plugs to be ceramic myself, hence my preference for multiple decks for single/dual like what the GMv3 and the Merlin Mini is doing. Also, re: paint, I prefer what the GMv3 does in this case - keep the parts in contact with juice stainless, and just paint the outside bits. However if the internal black parts on the Merlin is anodized, there should not be any problems. Or I can always get another silver Merlin, even a clone, and go frankensteining if the internal bits actually starts to peel. As for claps, say, 6/7 at 3mm? I did a 9/10 the other day for my O-Atty and it got to about 1ohm. Should be doable for the Ammit as the huge deck was designed for TWO claps lol. BTW, the tank extension IS included in the box RIGHT? Coz that's one of the most appealing thing about the Ammit Dual... and it would be a hype-killer if it wasn't included. I don't have any battery issue can use whole day without charging. VTC6 btw. Oh yeah I'm using Therion DNA75. Can't wait my DNA60 Epetite then I will go for small mod ADV is time I put my dual batt mod into rest zone. good flavor, liquids taste different from the normal subtank, but, it chugs liquid and not very batt friendly tried 4/5 wraps at 3mm, gives me 0.37 ohms, vapes good at 30 watts, will take your advice for 6/7 wraps, has to use 4/5 wraps, coz i built it for ammit dual but the legs were to short for the dual, so dont want it to go waste. Currently my ADV to keep me away from ciggs is: Mod: DEV2+ Tank: Kayfun v5 Wire: Kanthal 26g - 6 wraps Cotton: Muji Juice: Taste of Gods by Illusions Setting: Standard Mode 17.5w to 18.5w (tcr too much of a hassle) I found out that the wire gets black stuff on it very easily cotton also gets black, probably due to the sweetener in my juice. Anyways solution to fix this? I am changing my cotton everyday and cleaning the wire due to this issue. MTL vaper here. |

QUOTE(babykon101 @ May 5 2017, 04:31 PM) Hey bro, have a small problem here. Besides changing juice to something with less sweeteners, there's probably not much you can do really. Coils contact or spaced? If contact try spaced. Spaced, while it really gunks only a liiiiiittle bit less then contact coils, remain "vapable" for a lot longer (even when gunked) due to the gaps IMO. As for changing juice, I'll throw you my now standard response when someone asks about juice: Naked 100. That's probably the cleanest juice I know of these days, and for some unknown reason they're not ridiculously expensive (check Shopee). Also, thankfully the Naked line has now developed considerably so there's an increasing number of flavours to choose from, though it's still generally a fruity / tobacco line for now. As for clean creamy / dessert juices... emmm ehhh... unfortunately enough dessert juices gunk bad almost by default, due to their composition. So yeah. |

Bros, any suggestion on coil build for flavor? So far I am satisfied with 26 kanthal, 7 wraps 2.5 mm at 0.6-0.7 ohm. Vaping at 20w give me 3 days of battery life or maybe more lol.
What are the other coils that give good flavor? Wanna try something new maybe hehe |

Damn the epetite is excellent.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Good size and very light not that bad for a 60watt dna, no rattling from front panel and the fire button slightly raise up a little instead of previous review said the button were flat from box. Now I can bring this out and put in my pocket. Hope they can make the body slight thinner abit, then it will be really a small compact powerful mod. I think with my vtc6 running on 40w 0.4ohm and serpent rtda can last for whole day and yet still producing good flavor and clouds. This post has been edited by snake1983: May 9 2017, 02:26 PM |

However, I don't think the Macro DNA75 is THAT much cheaper either and yet build on that one is FAR below PAR relatively (loose damn battery door). » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Good size and very light not that bad for a 60watt dna, no rattling from front panel and the fire button slightly raise up a little instead of previous review said the button were flat from box. It's pretty clear between this, the Triade and the Therion, Lost Vape is quickly becoming THE to go brand for quality in the Mass Market segment. Though most of their Mods are a bit thick IMHO though. Hopefully they can continue churning out quality Mods. Seriously, if they ever make a single cell, 18650 only DNA75 Therion, I'd probably buy one in a heartbeat. This post has been edited by Eiraku: May 9 2017, 08:26 PM |
