My Malaysian set RN4x is unable to switch on or boot, only red light keeps blinking during charging. Google and it seems like a common problem but different way of rectifications. So far tried a few but not working.

After trying the different self diagnosis suggested by google, my 18months old RN4 still cannot be charged or boot. Brought to Xiaomi Authorised service center to diagnose and was told problem with mainboard, so not worth repairing n paid rm25 for that. My 3year old RN3 still kicking strong.

The xiaomi authorized service center said my phone is gone and data not retrievable. But when I brought to another shop, tested my battery ok but still can't charge and can't switched on, dismantled the battery n powered d phone directly by charger n phone can be switched on and booted, everything still intact felt relieved.
At least now allowed me to savage my data. Will backup all data b4 repairing the shorted mainboard, repairing cost btw rm150-rm250.

Useless xiaomi service center charged me rm25 for a lousy job.

WTA:
1) Is it safe to continue using the shorted phone with direct power while backup the data and reset it to factory setting?
2) Is the repair cost of 150-250 which takes 2 hours too high?
3) Normally would repaired unit last >1 year?
4) Where to sell it as scrap since the screen n battery still working?


Any opinion is welcome.

Since my RN4 is not working with the internal battery and if I dont get my mainboard repaired, may be I should get a clip-on power bank like this:

bootloop. try go safe mode and clear cache 1st, if not works then clear data to format but bye2 your data.

Hi anyone here have problem with 10.2.3.0 version update? I have an issue of super duper fast draining battery power? Need to charge 4 times daily, about 10min dropped almost 10-15% battery..before the update the battery can still hold about a day before need to recharge..any solutions to this?

just changed my battery for 2nd time after 9 months, from same supplier.

with the new battery, my average usage is just 10 to 12 hours.

somehow, I feel like alot of Xiaomi apps (the ones that you can'y uninstall) are running in the background and draining battery.

My RN3 hang so I pressed on the power button to reboot but now it is stuck at the Mi logo and the powered by Android logo with the 3 moving dots.
Anyone can help?

Found a (temporary) solution for battery drain (MTK version)

Have to download MTK engineering mode and set everything to low.

It helps for idle power usage reduction but will sacrifice your speed if using the phone.

Hi All, appreciate some guidance. I have a redmi note 4 MY set. the phone has been great so far except until it was updated to 10.2.3.0.

there is no network service.

I have tried my sim cards on other phones and they work perfectly.

but in my note 4, the sime card is detected but just no service, when making calls, its displays "Radio Off" and then "Turn off Airplane mode to make calls. But aeroplane mode is off.

I tried to do fastboot ROM update and discovered another issue. The phone is not detected by the software. When plug in the phone normally, the coputer detects the phone and am able to browse teh contents, but when using the Mi PC Suite and the Flashtool, the phone is not detected even though i have enable uSB debugging and updated the drives on my phone.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem and have you managed to solve this?
