QUOTE(mudz @ May 16 2007, 10:48 AM) By right, puppies should be dewormed every two weeks once they are two weeks old until they are three months. After that, it depends whether your dog goes out or not but once in three to six months will do.This is what my vet told me and what I practise. You should bring your pup to the vet and see what he/she says. Do bring to a reputable vet though. If you are in the Subang area, Healing Rooms is very good. By the way, what pup did you buy? erm.. i just brought my pup to check-up.. the vet told me my pup is healthy but it is very very risky as she is only 4 weeks old and she may fall sick anytime.. im very scared now T.T there is 1 thing im not sure.. some petshop tells me that i can vaccinate my pup when she is 6 weeks old but some says must be 8 weeks old.. which one is correct as i hope i could vaccinate her as soon as possible.. |

It is better for you to ask a vet what is the right age.... sometimes petshops just say stuff coz to them it is business... that is their vaccination routine.... from what I know, the best age is 8 weeks old.... so now you must not let your puppy come into contact with other dogs. There is a risk for her to get infected since 4 weeks old, immune system is weak.
How about the bloated tummy? Not worms? |

QUOTE(mudz @ May 16 2007, 08:30 PM) i got a toy poodle.. the colour is almost the same with ur picture.. How come you own a 4 week old pup???!!! It shouldn't leave the mother so young!!!erm.. i just brought my pup to check-up.. the vet told me my pup is healthy but it is very very risky as she is only 4 weeks old and she may fall sick anytime.. im very scared now T.T there is 1 thing im not sure.. some petshop tells me that i can vaccinate my pup when she is 6 weeks old but some says must be 8 weeks old.. which one is correct as i hope i could vaccinate her as soon as possible.. Anyway, 1st vaccine should be done on 8 weeks old. Following by 11 weeks old & lastly 14 weeks old. Usually petshop told you to give vaccination on 6 weeks old pup are wrong. Petshop ppls thinking are different cause their main concern is to sell off the pups to make profit. If the pup become to bigger chances the petshop selling off the pups are very slim. That why they practise give early injection so does the commercial/backyard breeders normally do. I strongly against this type of unethical practise & discourage ppls from buying pets from petshops & commercial/backyard breeders. This post has been edited by chrisoys: May 16 2007, 09:29 PM |

Have you been feeding the same food or you give different food? Which vet? The one Chrisoys recommended? i bring her to vet just few hours back but they said she is healthy.. her appetite is not so good compare to yesterday.. she just ate abit food today.. is there something wrong or is she just trying to adapt to the new enviroment ? QUOTE(andyfriends @ May 17 2007, 09:02 AM) Puppies pee every 3 to 4 hours.... they do not have great bladded control. The puppy cannot tahan that long and it is cruel to cage a 2 month old pup that long.Get your pup when you are having long year end holidays. During that time you can easily train it to use the newspaper or cage or grass as peeing spot.... then when you go for classes, the pup will know what to do. I did that, I'm also a student but I do not cage my dog when she was a pup coz I trained her during my holidays..... |
