Hi guys,

Planning to get Webe Broadband for my parents to replace their lousy 1Mbps(RM88) Streamyx. It's longg overdue. Haha. Anyway, I plan to use this Webe Broadband sim on my Huawei E398 hooked to a TP-Link router. Is this possible on the Webe sim? If not I'd go for other telco as I dont want to buy a new modem 😅

Can, but only 3g since I don't see band 5 listed for that modem
Or go for other cheaper hotspot modem like huawei e8372h-608

Thanks for the response bro. If they dont mind not having 4G, 3G is sufficient right? At least miles better than the lousy 1mbps streamyx.. I think I'll take it as Digi also only has 3G in my area (so kampung) :')

If you're not using the latest IOS, you will get that message. But, it is okay. Just tap on the enable LTE and you should be able to receive webe LTE signal. This problem happens because during that day when they release this firmware, webe is still sleeping in their mother womb. So your current firmware does not know who is this 502153 telco. So the iPhone will rather stick to the one that the firmware knows which is Celcom 3G instead of 502153. Hope this answers all of your doubts.

Yup true, that's what their website says. But amazingly some people still can access with Celcom 3G.

Ahah. I’m currently on beta, so that answers that. I have to downgrade to stable version in order to reap the true benefit of webe line then. Thanks!

I just ported to webe yesterday from Celcom. No issues with Celcom just wnat to try how webe works.

So far (almost 24 hours) here are my observation from usage:

1. Youtube buffers a lot if at my home (which did not happen with Celcom)
2. Loading on LTE is slower compared to Celcom
3. Coverage wise its comparable to Celcom (can still receive calls & whatsapp in basement parking)
4. 3g on webe seems slower compared to Celcom

Otherwise it’s working fine. Only that personal hotspot is not working for me even though the free 10gb LTE wifi is available. Anyone on iPhone can share your tips?

same here. switched from celcom.
1. youtube smooth over here at Seremban.
2. loading 4G is slower but still manageable. gets thing done.
3. coverage wise is very good. similar to celcom.
4. 3g speed is still same with celcom.

If only celcom provides the same kind of plan. i'll switch back to celcom. rclxms.gif

For future proof , make sure the device support LTE bands 5 (FDD 850MHz), 38 (TDD 2600MHz )and/or 40(TDD 2300MHz).

Good for you. For me, the usage is similar to using Umobile. Where with LTE, surfing crawls even Twitter takes time to load which I don’t think is a good sign. But again, I understand, they are still new and need time to improve service.

The plan is the ULTIMATE compared to other offerings out there. Haha.

Honest speaking here, the speed that webe LTE can deliver to us might not be as good as the three big telcos but what surprises me is that their ping is really low. If you check the statistics that NPerf (a speed test app) has collected, you will see that webe has a very high score, higher than Celcom and Digi but slightly lower than Maxis.
