Your prices may be different. I have 2 members actually order their tyres from West Malaysia and got them shipped there.

vr2turbo, need your advice, re002 potenza vs assy2, whats your recommendation
*
What size? Asy 2 smallest tyre size is 215/45R17.

I am on one set of Asy 2 now, and they are good. Dry, wet grip and handling is superb.
Only I find them a bit bumpy compared to my old Asy, but then Old Asy was Made in China and the Asy 2 are from Germany.
PUG 308 turbo owner mentioned for them in 225/45R17 size, the Asy 2 are more comfortable as both Asy and Asy 2 for this size are from Germany.
As for RE-002 I have not tried. Base on the UTQG, I remember they are rated Traction A, so will be good for dry handling.

Moreover, RE-002 should be UHP category and Asy 2 is Max performance.
In UK tyre review Asy 2 was put against higher Bridgestone Potenza S001

QUOTE(amirsubhi @ Dec 22 2011, 08:23 PM)
its indeed 215/45/17, yeah, seem the review show that its comparable with S001, and Re-002 is lower than that.
My current tyre Hankook S1 Evo currently have no stock on almost every shop, seem like they are going to replace with new patern. Regarding the comfort, I do personally think even Asy can beat S1 Evo comfort level  tongue.gif

Any big difference between max perfomance and UHP anyway on wet condition?
Anyway thank you for your advice vr2turbo, really appreciate it biggrin.gif  rclxms.gif
*
Yup, S1 Evo is even bumpier.
Max is new range to class better traction tyres that handles in both wet and dry. Some brands still class their in UHP, so for some brands is quite close between Max and UHP.
Only extreme is higher but that is extreme dry performance, basically for track use but useable for daily use, but wet traction is good only for damp road, not wet and heavy rain.

I'm using Yokohama S-drive. It serve me well but the tyre noise annoyed me now. Thinking to replace to other tyre. Any tyre recommend for 205/50/16? Anyone know what the price for michellin ps3 and re002?
*
Yup, S-Drive if uneven wear will become very noisy.
PS3 in 205/50R16 is around RM460. I think RE-002 not far off either....

i have hard time looking for 205/40/17 tyre size for my myvi..currently i'm using Silverstone M5 and needs to be replaced soon..

my priorities to be focused now are Comfort and Low Noise, any tyre models that fit my priorities and tyre size? strictly 205/40/17 only..
*
205/40R17 really very little choice and most in performance category.
Conti SCS1, Kumho KU31, Yoko A-Drive R1, Federal 595 Evo, and SS595 have, but since performance and most are directional likely to be more noisy...

Thanks for your suggestions vr2turbo. Yes, very little choice for my size and I'm actually in KK, Sabah therefore lesser choice here if compared to west msia..I managed to know got 1 shop selling Toyo tyres, they got my size for Toyo T1-R model..what's your take on that T1-R?
*
Good performance tyres, but pretty expensive nowadays.

*
Yup, they are cheaper now because made in Vietnam.....

*
185/60R14 quite common. I would recommend the Yoko C-Drive 2 as a few members using them comment good as in this size mostly are entry level tyres already. C-Drive 2 are Mid level tyres.....
Here is the price list.....

185/60R14
Bridgestone Turanza AR10 - RM200 Rinting Tyre (Jul 11)
Bridgestone Turanza AR10 - RM165 Kota Masai (Jul 11)
Bridgestone Turanza AR10 - RM175 Hin Leong (Dec 11)
Continental CC5 - RM185 Goh Swee Hin Penang (May 11)
Dunlop J3 - RM160 Pekan Meru, Klang - (Sep 11)
Falken Ziex 912 - RM158 Bidor, Perak (May 10)
Goodyear Duraplus - RM160 Rinting Tyre (Jul 11)
Goodyear Duraplus - RM165 Pekan Meru, Klang (Sep 11)
Hankook V8 Blackbird - RM195 (Jul 11)

Pirelli P6 - RM180 TRB Automobile Puchong Utama (Feb 11)
Pirelli P6 - RM165 Kota Masai (Jul 11)
Toyo Teo Plus - RM235 Motor Grip Masai (Jan 11)

Looking for 205/65R15 tires. Need to be good performance and quiet. Any recommendation. Comfort as well
*
Most performance tyres started from 55 series and below. Even 60 series also difficult to get performance tyres sometimes. Here are some prices....

205/65R15
Bridgestone GR90 - RM320 Bridgestone Art, Old Klang Road (Mar 11)
Continental CC5 - RM264 Senawang (Jun 11)
Continental CC5 - RM240 - Btg Kali
Falken ZE322 - RM260 - Btg Kali
Falken ZE912 - RM220 - Btg Kali
Goodyear Assurance - RM255
Michelin XM1 - RM260
Michelin XM2 - RM275
Silverstone M5 - RM190 - Silverstone Btg Kali (Sep 11)

GR-90 is comfort performance, same as ZE-912 and GY Assurance. The others are more towards entry level.....

thanks for d list n recommendations biggrin.gif

wat ab toyo teo plus?anywhere can buy? lookin for performance tyre..
*
Use to have Yoko Advan Neova AD07 is this size, but sadly nowadays no more. Not even Michelin PP2.
Nowadays, mostly entry level in this size, that is why I suggest Yoko C-Drive 2 which is mid level.....
Toyo Teo plus should be entry of mid level also......and I heard they are pretty expensive (if not mistaken)

Can try checking with:-
E.D. Tyre Autocare Sdn. Bhd.
24, Jalan Utas A
Section 15
40000 Shah Alam
Tel: 5510 0620
Fax: 5511 0820

If need performance tyres, then have to upgrade to 15" and use 195/50R15, 185/55/R15 or 195/55R15 sizes

How old are your current tyres? Brand and model and how much thread pattern left?
All these plays a part.

oh ya, another thing i have to ask..just now got some free time, did some survey on the tyre shop..I was suggested by the tauke to use Continental Max Contact 5 (MC5)..I told him my top priorities are low noise and comfort, he recommended MC5, summore is new model tyre from Continental..but somehow i could not get much info on MC5, no info on Continental website..

besides MC5, he also suggested other alternatives such as Hankook S1 Evo and Falken Ziex 912..i'm tempted to get the MC5, but stock will only be in after CNY..what's your opinion bro?
*
Max contact 5 is new range from Conti. Some who have used mentioned not bad but still very little feedback.
Other top range from Conti is actually the CSC5 (Sports Contact 5)
S1 Evo is quite hard and bumpy as per some feedback.....

ZE-912 is actually should be in 2 rung lower category

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Dec 31 2011, 09:44 PM)
i thought comfort and noise would be CC5 (comfort contact 5)

atm i really wanna try out c drive 2 despite the bad reviews on its treadwear. basically aside from this issue i couldnt find anything else that is bad with it (well, expensive because need to change frequently due to faster treadwear would still be considered treadwear issue)
*
C-Drive 2 have pretty good feedback so far, except a bit of noise, but actually none from my sources have finished off any C-Drive 2 yet, as still new....
