Eh, u only write out future proof that is dead. DVD player is one of the future proof stuff. The reason DVD is successful is because of PS2 also.

Is game in BD, developer can make more powerful game. Its in the future.

HDMI 1.3 is the latest generation HDMI to transfer video and digital multichannel audio. Won't make game better. But for future LCD tv which some of you will buy.

It doesn't need 5 years. Look at DVD. It just took 1 year to swamp the world with PS2. And DVD follows suit.

PS3 is not that much expensive than other console. We should support PS3 now.

Of course Wii outsold PS3. PS3 volumn is low. Ramp up is slow. Wii is easier to build. Ramp up easier. We'll see this in 1 year time. PS3 will be in a lot of people's home. BD will win. HD DVD will become betamax this time.

i think many of us already agree,it's not as expensive as many people make it out to be,especially given the fact that it comes with a HDMI port and BD player...
but people wont be looking at those two ONLY
as the ps3 is primarily a games machine,it should have more games to support it(which currently it lacks,unfortunately)

just 3 games...
if i were to choose with a limited budget,i'd get a 360 with 3 games instead of the ps3,since MGS4 isnt out yet...
at least get to enjoy GoW,err..well,thats the only game im looking at on the 360..

just look at MGS and MGS2 Substance on the pc.....
the game is still fun to play,but overall, with the controls...it's suited best to the consoles...

one thing about adding HD DVD playback to the 360...
you'd be having an extra drive.
so if you're hd dvd drive goes kaput,you can still game on the 360's drive.
for those with tight spaces at home,it wont look as nice as the ps3,though..

it could have something else.
eventually we might be seeing things happen to it..

dont go around expecting EAALL games developers to make fantastic games with the BD..
most would just use it for extra languages,or behind the scenes crapvideos

the smarter play would be to supportbuy a console which has games you want to play.

You can put more info in to the game. BD have larger storage than DVD. But HD DVD for Xbox360 is coming. To upgrade, the price of Xbox360 will be the same as PS3. So PS3 is not expensive at all.

I already own a PS3 and I am loving it. Why bother with junk consoles like 360 and Wii...come on, grow up. Forget that nostalgia mario bros bullshit. Its time to move forward!

Opps...I didn't know many of you agree PS3 is not expensive. If like that, I don't have to open a thread just to educate people that PS3 is really not expensive. Its actually cheaper than buying a BD player.

I wonder why u guys want 2fight for the latest console. Everybody got their preferences, can't force anybody 2get what console u like right? Even if u support single console also no need 2bias on another console. It sounds like a nerd (no offence yea).

Anyway, I don't see myself getting a PS3 anytime in the near future. Why?

- Very little games that interest me (Resistance and Motorstorm oh wow). No RPGs or action games. Later in the future, MGS4, FFXIII, DMC4... long way to release.
- Pricey
- Don't have a OMG L33t TV to play to it's full potential. Still using a 10-year old 30inch CRT.
- Lol, Blu-Ray. Even pirated Blu-Ray games will be expensive, and Blu-Ray movies have a long way to come.

The most important point to me know is that there are very little games for it to justify my purchase.

I don't like the games lineup for Wii either.

360 is the only appealing choice to me now. Nice library of games too. But I think I'll wait a bit to buy that as well. Horror stories of 3ROD abound... mostly FPS games... Mass Effect will give me a slight push.

Until then, it's back to my PS2 and PC.

Its not pricey compare to other console. Plus, you can still play PS2 game with it (not all) If you're ps2 owner and the ps2 just died, naturally, PS3 is the way to go.
