Initial firmware on the Mijia dashcam and latest firmware in Mi Home App
Attached Image

English firmware v1.0.13.En
Please use the Mi Dash Cam app to update your Mijia dashcam with 1.0.13.En which is in English. Mi Home will update 1.0.13 which is in Chinese.

Also, you can't update using the Mi Dash Cam app after updating from the Mi Home app as it will detect that it is the latest firmware.

The only way is to manual flash update the firmware.

Download 1.0.13.En from my Dropbox.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/373k4i57tn6rwkl/1.0.13en.rar?dl=0

Unzip the file > copy the SD_CarDV.bin file to the microSD card root folder > insert to the Mijia dashcam > power on and wait for it to update > will auto reboot into English interface.

Videos

Yi dashcam vs Mijia dashcam

Yi Dashcam 1080p 60fps vs Mijia Dashcam 1080p 30fps

The Mijia dashcam looks clearer in the video but the video is darker. The Yi dashcam can see more details in darker areas (Hopefully Mi can fix this in a future firmware?)

A119 & A119S is currently my daily dashcams now in my car... At the moment, they are the best for below rm400 dashcam range...

No dashcams in the world can't see clearly at night while the car is moving...

QUOTE
60 FPS

I also want to bring attention to claims that 60FPS reduces motion blur or are sharper. That is not true. It’s shutter speed which determines how sharp an image is.

60 FPS means each second is divided into 60 frames. Each frame has a max shutter speed (how long the camera lets in light) of 1/60th. However, the shutter speed can be much faster let’s say 1/5000th of a second every frame.

This is why during the day if you freeze frame 30FPS video, the license plates are sharp because the shutter speed is very fast. At night there is less light so the camera can compensate by either slowing the shutter speed to increase light or bump up the ISO which increases noise.

Here’s a good image to learn more:

Yeah A119S is more expensive as it's newer than A119... Try searching in Aliexpress as they are having their 7th Anniversary sale in a few days time...

I know everyone want to see a VS between Mijia and Yi laugh.gif

I need time to setup and learn how to do a video with 2 videos in it... innocent.gif

Specs wise I like the Sony Exmor sensor on the Mijia and the A12 (Novatek) chip on the Yi...

You cannot get a good dual dashcam for RM300 ler... This is better than those local sellers are selling for the same price but lower specs dashcams.

Also, the bonet is at the front, why "orange langgar bonet pun tak tau siapa?" laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

What video resolution do you guys usually set for everyday driving? I watched some videos here and only the 720p gives clear and sharp video quality. 360p is not clear and rather blurry.

I see. But 1080p will take up considerably more storage. Usually a full storage of video will last how many days before they have to be deleted for new videos? Assuming you are on the road for 3 hours average a day. With 1080p video, how many days will it take for the storage to reach full capacity? If it is 9 hours, then by 3 days the old videos will have to be deleted to make way for new videos.

To calculate on how long a sd card can store is depends on the sd card size and the bit rate of the video...

To calculate, take the sd card capacity in GB, divide it by the bit rate, and multiply the result by 2. The result is 10% less than the actual recording time as this is a quick formula.

Mijia dashcam has an overall bit rate of 16.3 Mb/s.

32gb roughly about 4 hours & 64gb about 9 hours...

Most dashcams can only use 32gb but only a handful of newer dashcams can use 64gb or 128gb sd cards...

Right, thanks. So for this Mijia, if the SD card in the Mijia is 32GB, when recording in 1080p the SD card can only fit 4 hours of video? That means the card will have to re-write the videos in every 2 days assuming that the driver is on the road for an average 2 hours a day.

yes the card will auto rewrite every 2 days base on your situation... Just buy a good SD card to avoid SD card premature damage... Avoid Sandisk Ultra...

Hi I've just got my Mijia.

However, can anyone let me know where can I get the password to login to the cam using Mi Home app?

BTW, are there any third party portable mount for two-car usage?

blurjoey is there anyway to fully utilize the sd card for normal recording only? Right now i have around 20GB for normal recording and 10 GB for emergency recording... So theoretically I only have 20 GB space for recording which is too little...

y avoid sandisk ultra? is it no gooding? warranty 10yrs maa. last time I use 4gb for 2yrs on cheap dvr. after 2yrs it's spoiled, claim warranty but sandisk Malaysia no more 4gb card, they gimme 8gb (twice capacity) for replacement. now using 32gb for my eken h9r, so far so gooding for me. as long as u keep the receipt for 10yrs, u r good to go with sandisk. usually, after I buy something, I quickly snap picture of the receipt then email it to myself. that way, I can just throw away the receipt. if want to claim, just search inside my email. hehe

Here you go! It's in the wifi settings screen. FYI - The wifi password will change after update firmware.

Sandisk Ultra can't last long when used in dashcams. Too much writing to the card.

When you're using your Eken H9R, it's only recording the video when you asked it to and stop when you asked it to.

Dashcam is recording when you start your car until you off your car in 1/3/5 minutes files until the card is full. Then overwrite the older files when full. If you use your Eken H9R as a dashcam, your sandisk ultra will eventually die also.

Eventhough both is cameras but the 2 is different types of cameras.

I have 2 Sandisk Ultra 32gb and 64gb died when used in my dashcams. Was working fine on my phones before cause less read and write.

Anyway, now Sandisk doesn't cover warranty when their cards is used in dashcam or any surveillance cam...

I stopped buying Sandisk d... Now use mostly Samsung Evo+ and Netac cards...

I somehow felt mijia cam is overated compare to xiaoyi.. spec by spec the xiaoyi offer more, angle shot xiaoyi is wider, mijia is much contrast compare to xiaoyi, at the same parking lot, mijia always very dark 1, but xiaoyi u can see clearer... then the notification light at mijia is at the side, very difficult to see whether it is recording or not.. there was 1 time it hang up for a good 1hr only found out when wife notify why screen dark but light got backlight.. then tekan tekan all no response.. need to reset. if xiaoyi at least u as driver u directly can see infront there is two diode notifying us.. but it was just my 2 cent after having these two dash cam.. mijia is also much more expensive than xiaoyi youth edition.

The darker video could be due to the firmware... Think mi need to tweak the firmware more...

Mine haven't hang yet though... Have you update the firmware of the mijia?

But 11street selling the mijia for rm230 now which is almost same as yi dashcam...

This weekend, I'll take the yi dashcam from my wife's car to do a day/night comparisons...

Heard Mijia runs hotter compared to Yi? That might be an issue with our weather?

I wish they run on cap instead of a (pseudo) battery..

Feels warm to the touch only...

The mijia is for China market... Anyway still trying to find out if it is lithium ion or lithium polymer battery in the Mijia... Polymer can tahan heat better than ion...

At the moment, the mounting hole looks proprietary...
Don't think can as all the settings in the Mijia and the MiHome app is limited...
Search for Mi Home in the App store

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mi-home-xia...d957323480?mt=8

Actually can stick if using tape mount. Suction mount will fall off as in there have spaces under the tint... In the got sun, the air expand so there is a not a very flat surface for the suction mount to grip on...

Nope... It doesn't... Anyway the lane assist and distance warning only good when highway driving... City driving, it gives false warnings...

hi guys,

can't decide between Mijia and Xiaoyi dash cam. any reco? Since price is almost the same.

Also, I've been looking around and found out that there is many version of Xiaoyi (power, international). What's the difference other than the interface language? From some descriptions on the selling pages I see, the Power has lower fps rate than the international? Also I found out that the older version of the Xiaoyi is clearer than the newer ones? Does this have anything to do with firmware updates? I've been researching all night but still kelam kabut. rclxub.gif

If you park your car outside in the hot sun more, 3m mount is better as suction mount will fall down more due to the heat...

But some ppl don't like 3m mount as it might ruin their tint when want to remove... But the mijia dashcam comes with some films which you stick on the windscreen first then stick the dashcam on it, can do the same with other dashcams too...

Hi can I know what is the use of a Gsensor? And also what's the function for emergency recording?

Always in the midst of recording, suddenly a loading bar in red (with mandarin) appear at the bottom of LCD, can I know why is it there?

Lastly, possible to set the duration of recording for one video file before the program creates several files say 5 mins long?

Gsensor is a censor that trigger emergency recording if it detect a sudden shock or high vibration... mostly use if u meet an accident but sometimes it will auto trigger if u drive over the speedbump... If u dont like it, u can disable the function too..

In your SD card, it will separate into normal recording and emergency recording where each of them have their own space allocated... If it start to record a emergency video, u are unlikely to accidentally overwrite those videos when your sd card is full..

Files only 2 mins, cant change...

The gsensor is only used to automatically lock files in the case of an event triggering the gsensor...

Emergency recording, is manually activate recording in the emergency folder... Dashcam don't overwrite the video files in the emergency folder...

The red bar means the gsensor is triggered and moving the video file to the emergency folder... Try changing to low sensitivity if frequent trigger the gsensor...

Nope. Can't change the 2 minutes video file as there is no settings to do so...

Gsensor to detect car collision (car accident for example), emergency recording when you want to manual record something urgently in case your Gsensor can't detect the car accident.

the 2 questions let other owner reply you, I don't owned this.

Thank you to t3n, blurjoey & NightFelix for the prompt reply!

However, I went thru the saved files and noticed that it does not always record everything from the moment the dash cam is on to the moment I switched off the engine.

Is it normal?

BTW, what app you guys recommend for stitching up the 2 min files into one video?

Look in the other folders too...

I'm using Filmora to join the videos together... Can also look at Format Factory which can join video files too...

Yi 60fps is worse than 30fps, amplified even more in night footages. Videos look smoother on 60fps giving a false sense of better quality, but when you freeze the frame the colors are more washed out and not clear compared to 30fps.
*
Haven't done 60fps on the Yi dashcam yet... Hahaha... Thinking should I do or not...

Those planning to buy Mijia.. I would recommend to use 64GB micro SD card at least... Because Mijia will reserve quite a lot of space for emergency recording..

My 32GB micros sd card split into 2 parts:
1) Emergency - 5++ GB
2) Normal - 20++ GB
3) Another 6GB++ don't know gone where, lol

That means I only have approximately 2.5hrs of recording only, which i think too little...

Yi dashcam vs Mijia dashcam

sensor uses line skipping read out.
looks more like 720p with heavy denoising and oversharpening.
some area like edges of foliage looks like watercolour.
pretty much looks like any other cam with novatech chipset.
nothing special in terms of video quality but it's enough for what it is meant for.
the previous yi is definitely better in terms of video quality.

Hi TS, may I know is the APP to connect the Mijia dash cam with iphone is called Mihome or Mijia in mandarin (greenish coloured app)? I have downloaded but I can't find the Dash Cam in the list of devices to be added. Only Air Purifier, Humidifier, vacuum, LED lamp, fan and wifi repeater.

On top there are two options to be chose from ie Add Bluetooth Device and Add Device Group.

Hope sifu can enlighten me on this. Thanks!

It's this in the Appstore
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mi-home-xia...d957323480?mt=8

You need to change the MiHome app region to China then only can connect to the Mijia dashcam. Try and see.

The 1st pic says "Connected to phone, setting in standby mode"

3rd pics says "Auto upgrade will perform on next restart" means when you restart the Mijia dashcam it will update the firmware.

I also can't read chinese, so I get my friends to read for me laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Also new 1.0.9 firmware, later go update also...

Mijia dashcam records in 1920x1080 30fps with an overall bit rate of 16.3 Mb/s, with 64GB it's about 8.9 hours video...

Also, the dashcam will overwrite old files first when full. No need to manually format or transfer out the files d...

Also new 1.0.9 firmware, later go update also...

just got my Xiaoyi dash cam few days back.

so far i think 1080p 60fps works awesome. although the vehicle's plate number is clearer when about 5-8meters away from my car.

night time also not bad lah.

but one thing is, it's kinda difficult to remove the dashcam from the mounting. i mean, i pressed the plastic switch to remove the cam from the mount but it looked the cam is inserted too tight. sad.gif

thinking to get another for my other car, and maybe try this mijia dash cam

It's easy to install yourself... Accessories might charge you rm20-100 to install into your car...

Also, I have translated the menu to English in my review blog... It's set 1 time and forget... FYI, I can't read Chinese also but I can setup it without any issues.

change the quality on the youtube video to 1080p la.

I am think of buying one for wife's car but she prefers those that comes something like this http://www.lazada.com.my/goq-d208-dual-cam...ml?ff=1&boost=2

cos she says another physical cam sort of disrupts her vision and this one can turn off screen and just replace the rearview mirror. Any comments guys ? Pros and cons ?

Sorry TS, I dont mean to disrupt this Mijia thread but if she says will disrupt her vision, I better trust her cos I don't want her to blame me in case shit happens biggrin.gif . BTW, I might be getting this Mijia for myself. Where to get it instal to hide the wires and how much ya? Thanks in advance

If you put the dashcam higher and behind the rearview mirror, your wife can't see it. Mine is roughly there and it doesn't disrupts my vision also...

Rearview mirror is good but a few thing I don't like about them, 1) the rubber straps that holds them to the mirror will get loose 2) the cam on the left side of the car (China is left-hand drive) = more view of the left side and less of the right side...

Try to get with 1 with the cam at the center and using better mounts...

""""2) the cam on the left side of the car (China is left-hand drive) = more view of the left side and less of the right side..."""""" TRUE THAT, nvr thought abt that.

Btw, where did you get yours installed and how much ? Correct me if I am wrong but I assume most car accessories shop would know how to, right ? I am not a DIY person and what I want most is to hide all wires that can be hidden .

Thanks a lot for your helpful reply.

My dashcams... Can see it? Hahaha...

I learned to DIY the installations myself. Takes about 30 minutes only.

This the easiest to DIY via the linings...

Now have DIY to hide the bales cables inside the A pillar and behind the dashboard.

Try to forget the wifi of the mihome on your phone and reconnect again. Also, set your Mihome region to china.

Once connected, the mihome will inform got a new firmware and if you want to upgrade or not.

After the mihome app, power off your mijia and power back on to complete the firmware update.

Something like if I remember correctly...

I have another redmi 4 prime and it works wonders. The download was fast, streaming was great However after the download i unable to play back. It seems to be corrupted. Any advice please ?

hi TS, not sure how you did the video download. Basically, I connect my iPhone to the Mijia, and then download the video from Mijia app. However, after the status says "download completed" I cannot find the video anywhere in my phone. Weird.

I didn't download the video as I watched via wifi on my S7 edge...

For downloads, I'll take out the microsd card and plug to my OTG card reader copy from there...

I succeeded with Media Player 10. Thanks a lot ! You have been real helpful.

'DIY'ed the installation today. Not too hard, cam is barely visible when I am driving BUT my film fell off cos I stuck part of the film on the dotted thingy behind my rearview mirror. Lucky my cable was securely attached to the cam otherwise cry.gif

Was thinking if I should stick it directly on the dotted (what are those anyway? Sensors? hmm.gif ) the next time it falls again.

That dotted area is just a design. If you're using suction cup, better don't stick there as there are air bubbles in there. No issue with tape mount on the dotted area.

Yi dashcam's 1296p is interpolated. It's not native (not real) 1296p.

The vs videos are both 1080p 30fps vs and Yi's 1080p 60fps vs Mijia's 1080 30fps.

Thanks for the review and translations. Got it yesterday and updated the firmware from 1.0.8 too 1.0.11.

Can't read chinese but it says something bt the improvement in phone playback smoothness

Tips: Update won't work without micro sd card. Once done reboot and it will update upon power up

You can try this from this YouTube video, same as City. But do on the other side as the video is left hand drive.

I used this way for my City 2014 at first but have DIY install via the A pillar.

Hi

Anyone can share experience using with ios on iphone? I am able to get everything to work and watched the video via wifi thru ios mijia app but cannot scroll to see more than the default 3-4 videos on the phone screen.

Everytime I press on the more video, the apps totally shutoff and I am at the homescreen again. Try updating mijia to latest firmware and also apps also cannot solve this issue.

anyone have similar problem and can share the solutions?

normally i would set to max 10mins before the screen goes to screensaver mode.

yes it is pleasant to watch the real video on screen but it will degrade the camera life faster.

i am using xiaoyi btw.

I think the internal battery is kaput or not connect properly. Try to return to the seller for repair or to claim warranty.

It was OK this morning when I started my car.

I think the dashcam will reset the date & time if the USB power cable had been disconnected and the on/off button is pressed before the cable is re-plugged in.

Hi guys, i just recently purchased a xiaomi mijia dash cam. I transferred the video out from the cam wifi connection to my phone and it looks really clear when i tried to play it on my phone but then when I sent it over from my phone to facebook and tried to run it in my laptop, it looks blurr-ish and horrible, why so? Does the facebook compressed the file or something?

If we need high resolution video, do we need to transfer it directly from the memory card to laptop or so?

Thanks guys.

When you press the emergency button when the G sensor is not activated or saw something interesting, the dashcam will put that video file into the Event folder which won't be overwritten by the loop recording when the microSD is full.

I set mine to LOW sensitivity cos even going thru a bump it will trigger the sensor when it was on HIGH. Worried that there will be no more space for recording if the EMERGENCY FOLDER is full since it won't be deleted. Best to delete the videos in emergency folder periodically.

At the moment, the mounting hole looks proprietary...
Don't think can as all the settings in the Mijia and the MiHome app is limited...

You can try this from this YouTube video, same as City. But do on the other side as the video is left hand drive.

I used this way for my City 2014 at first but have DIY install via the A pillar.

Mr Ngan , The existing given by Xiaomi is only 3m. Go get a 5m micro USB cable in aliexpress. . Confirm long enough to fit your "connector" and you won't *faint* again.

Test around while look through the Mijia for that sweet spot until you finally stick on... Usually can stick higher... The video should show some of the bonnet at the bottom.

Is the Mijia app connected to the Mijia dashcam?

Once the firmware is on the Mijia dashcam, you'll need to manually reboot the Mijia dashcam to start the firmware update.

Built-in camera? Why u need so many camera? Lol..

From what i see in the unboxing, i dont see any suction cup. They do provide u a film for u to apply onto your window. Then u paste your 3m mount onto the film. This is to prevent damaging your tint.

Hi,

Just want to know whether this micro sd card suitable for mijia or not ???

Samsung 64GB 100MB/s Micro SD Evo Plus Class 10 MicroSDXC UHS-I U3 4K

Price around 106. Is it valuable to purchase this card ???

Thank you.

I bought the Samsung microSDXC UHS-1 Card 100 MB/s but behind the blister package it reads:

"...The warranty shall be void if used for any type of surveillance system..."

Does this mean the warranty is not valid if used with Mijia dashcam? Thank you.

Today I meet a careless driver before I enter Duke Highway from MRR2.
Suddenly the Vios turn into my lane and I almost hit the Vios.
Then I try to check back my mijia dashcam, I found out a problem.

1. I couldn't see clearly the registration number of the Vios on the right.
2. There is a lot of reflection on my car mirror caused the image look like blur.

PS: Ad bought Nimitz mount from coolstore. Hopefully it fix the reflection problem after I installed my mijia and set it from different angle.

To fix reflection issue on the windscreen, you'll need to use a CPL filter... Nothing to do with the mount...

beware that most of USB ports found in old vehicles are not designed to charge / power up electronic device but reserved for USB pen drive only.
You may facing the instability device, slow charge or burn car fuse / electrical board & wiring if used lower power standard USB output.

unless it specific for charging, then it safe to power up device.

I'm talking about the accessory port aka power outlets. Not the USB ports. I know the USB ports are not for charging or powering any devices unless specified.

I am using the rear power outlets in my City V spec to power my dashcams with an Aukey 4 port USB charger.

Use 1080p as that's the native resolution of Mijia dashcam.

You're watching on youtube can change the res to 1080p.

I am having problems connecting the MiJia to MiHome app on my handphone.

I have tried most if not all the locales (from US, to Singapore and even Mainland China) but the device can't connect or update the firmware.

What is the latest firmware and version for the MiJia and MiHome respectively?

Please help me on the MiHome. Thank you.

That's the latest version of Mijia (5.07) I have also on Android. Locale I usually use China.

There is another app called Mi Dash Cam on the Play Store. Can try this app if the Mi Home didn't work.

Thank you so much. The MiHome works now in China Locale. My problem is I can't read Chinese and I need to do a snapshot of the screen and then use google to translate. Also the problem with MiHome is the Locale is not near where we are residing, it is from where the MiJia was bought from. I have not tried MiDashCam yet. Cheers, have a great weekend ahead.

samsung evo plus is definitely the card i will buy if i need to since most ppl recommended it but I was just wondering if there is any issue with this kingston (compatibality or the card faulty) since i keep getting error message... afaik the only requirement is that the memory card should be class 10 for it to be compatible for dashcam right?

Hi can u let me know how u successfully link up mijia with mihome using IOS? I can't get it to work. I selected the correct dashcam not action cam. I was able to access the dashcam in ios. However when I press to see more video the apps just shut off and disappear. Updating the dashcam and ios mihome to latest firmware is no help. I think this is a compatibility issue. Do u encounter this or u can use the apps smoothly?

Both have cons and pros.

XiaoMi MiJia Dashcam

Pros
- Using better lens and Sony image sensor
- more stylish design

Cons
- Slight expensive than XiaoYi
- Sometimes hard to connect to app
- Touch button (personally prefer physical button)
- 160 Angle Degree
- Gets hot quicker than XiaoYi

XiaoYi Dashcam (Youth Edition)

Pros
- Simple & Straight forward interface (Easy using)
- Cheaper
- Slightly wider angle (165Degree)
- Phone app in full English (Android & iOS)

Cons
- Image less clear if compared to MiJia (but image still consider decent for this price)

Conclusion:

If you can read Chinese & more budget. Go for MiJia.

Else XiaoYi is a very decent car camera with the best price performance ratio available in market.

QUOTE(lowya @ Nov 19 2017, 01:35 PM)
blurjoey Some questions before getting it...

1. any image stabilization?
2. how quick is the release?
3. able to use as normal action camera? got on and off button if used outdoor outside car?
4. Can charge with computer or phone charger?
5. When park under hot sun do you leave it inside?
6. Got english firmware already? or can flash eng firmware?
7. Can off the G-sensor?
8. Able to select crop video on mijia before download the section to phone?
9. any Yi vs Mijia smarkdown review yet?
10. any good reason to go for Yi instead of Mijia? kopipeng
11. is it a real problem unable to see number plat in Mijia as reported by siong612 earlier?

hope you guys can help clearing some doubts which later can serves as FAQ.  icon_rolleyes.gif

1. Last checked, no dashcams have IS feature.
2. You mean release from the mount? Actually depends on you laugh.gif
3. It's a dashcam. Not action cam. But yes can use the dashcam outside of the vehicle to record maybe for about 5-10 minutes as the lithium battery is only 240mAh. There is a power button for you to turn on and off the dashcam.
4. Yes.
5. I usually never take down my dashcams. No matter it's capacitor or lithium dashcams.
6. Not yet. Maybe in the future, Mijia will release an English firmware.
7. Did you go thru my review? There is a picture on my blog that I've translated for the menus on the Mijia dashcam including the Gsensor settings. I did mention more translated menus screenshots on my blog. Yes, you can off the Gsensor.
8. Nope. Only able to download the 1-minute video to your phone. Think most smartphones can do video cropping if not mistaken. I prefer taking down the microSD and use my computer more. But I do have an OTG microSD card reader in my car.
9. I'm sure on post #1, I've got put some Mijia Dashcam VS Yi Dashcam videos that I did. Anyway, I got some asking me to do new VS videos for Mijia dashcam vs Yi Dashcam King Edition (aka Ultra) vs SJ Dash. Maybe after my Vicovation Opia1 and ThinkWare F800 Pro review first.
10. Yi Dashcam is 2 years old specs. Unless you're talking about the new Yi Dashcam King Edition (aka Ultra). Then maybe that King Edition as the I saw some advantages over the Mijia Dashcam.
11. Well, usually no dashcam can capture license plate clearly at night while moving fast. Unless you have an accident, then cars usually will slow down and you can capture the license plates clearly.

Hope I answered all your questions sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif

There are only 2 commands to do the following: 1. Record emergency video 2. Take photo

Tried a few times, was working good.

*
Hi, may I know Nimitz mount fit mijia nicely?

It's about US53.99 (RM210+-) in Gearbest.

There are lots of sellers online selling also. Local shops not sure.

You mean how long will the battery last in our hot weather? This depends on the lithium battery inside. Maybe a year or more or less or 6 months?

32GB can record about 3+- hours of drive video. If you need to keep longer, get a 64GB which can record about 6+- hours.

Try a factory reset of the Mijia dashcam then try to connect to the Mi Home app again.

If not, try this Mi Dash Cam app...

Did you use the Mi Home app to update or the Mi Dash Cam app to update?

If not mistaken, Mi Home app will install 1.0.13 which is in Chinese while the Mi Dash Cam app will install 1.0.13.En which is in English.

Can. Just make sure its the micro USB port version and you're using the fuse that powers only when you start engine.

Haven't tested with the latest firmware. After I clear my backlog reviews and maybe will do a VS video between Mijia dashcam and Yi dashcam King Edition with the latest firmware.

Hi all sifus,

Can anyone enlighten me why I get a warning for memory full? I thought it's supposed to overwrite itself. I have to format my memory card whenever it is full.

I'm using Samsung Evo 32gb.

Suppose to auto-overwrite old files first. Try to do an sd card format using the Mijia and see if it will give the same warning or not?

You can mute or unmute the mic. It will automatically record video with or without sound depending on what you have set.

1) Depends if you want Chinese (Mi Home) or English (Mi Dash) interface.
2) That's the first English firmware for Mijia dashcam.
3) Evo Plus is newer than Evo+.
4) Yes, automatic record and save.
5) No parking mode for the Mijia dashcam.

The dashcam will be recording non-stop if connected to the battery. It won't be parking mode. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Also, it won't have any voltage monitoring and your car battery will be suck dry by the dashcam.

For front only dashcam, minimum I would go is 32GB. 64Gb would be ideal.

Also don't get Sandisk Ultra cards as they will die when used in dashcam or IP cams in less than a year.

It is highly recommended not to use Sandisk Ultra in dashcam or ip cams. The card will die in less than a year due to too much writing into the NAND chip.

Samsung Evo Plus is good and value for money. FYI - Evo and Evo+ is an older version.

Another to look at is those with High Endurance from Sandisk, Transcend, etc but not cheap.

KLCC has an authorised Mi Store which sells the dashcam since I bought it recently. However, it's better to call them up to check on the stock availability as it is quite a popular item.

KLCC has an authorised Mi Store which sells the dashcam since I bought it recently. However, it's better to call them up to check on the stock availability as it is quite a popular item.

Samsung Evo Plus is good and value for money. FYI - Evo and Evo+ is an older version.

Another to look at is those with High Endurance from Sandisk, Transcend, etc but not cheap.

Thought Samsung voids the warranty if card is used in dashcam. Worth to use?

Yes, all manufacturers will void the warranty when used in dashcam or ipcam.

Best to get those cards with endurance in its name. But the price is higher.

Samsung Evo Plus is the budget at the moment. Also heard the Sandisk Ultra A1 is good as not so lousy like the Sandisk Ultra.

after searching around for for 70mai, 70mai pro, blueskysea B1W
it seem everyone is using tape mount, instead of hook
is there any other affordable dashcam out there that uses hook mount other than mijia?

if no, how is the performance of the mijia 1S?

Hook mount you mean suction mount?

Mijia 1S I didn't get to test but you can ask JayceOoi as he has tested the Mijia 1S sometime back.

hook mount as in as long as the end if hooked on the dashcam
and can be removed by disengage the hook instead of permanently glued
the end look at the one below in the circle

Oh the rear view mirror mount.

This is actually an universal mount as long as the mount can fit the dashcam.

How long you got this Mijia d?

Seems like the battery can't hold a long charge anymore. That's why all the settings reset when you leave it.

Either you find a replacement battery or get a new dashcam that uses supercapacitor instead of a battery.
