Standard practice, to prolonged the spring usage
even at most we only insert 20 round in 30 round mag
unless in serious situation

itu lain cerita..

Absolute myth. The main cause of spring wear in magazines is due to cycling. There's minimal 'fatigue' keeping the mags fully loaded.

QUOTE
David Cochol of Mec-Gar, the company that manufactures the factory magazines for Sig (as well as Ruger, S&W, CZ, and several others), gave us the answer that seemed most common; “We recommend following standard law enforcement practice and that’s to rotate magazines every 90 days.”

QUOTE
Mec-Gar’s rep stated that it’s unnecessary to down-load magazines and that doing so is not relieving enough tension to make any appreciable difference in the life of the spring. “If you’ve got a 15-round magazine, you’re not doing yourself any favors by making it a 14-round magazine,” Cochol said.

There are easily millions of magazines fully loaded being carried in the US everyday....

Realiti sebenar sebab standard issue magazines are meant to be discarded after single use so they aren't build to the highest quality or to spec. Label 30 rounds tapi ada bleh isi 27,24,28 je so its easier to just down load all mags as standard practice

Nimitz Class vs Gerald R Ford Class - How Do The Aircraft Carriers Compare?

Gerald R Ford Class is US Militaries brand new Aircraft Carrier. It will slowly replace the aging Nimitz Class. But how do the two aircraft carriers compare?

Like this 1 round jammed, have to throw away/discard the entire magazine, including all unused rounds. Regarding spare mags, I just don't see NK soldiers hauling more than 2 of these. laugh.gif

At least small-capacity mags, if forced to throw/remove away still have some more spare mags. Damage 1 mag still have 5-6 more mags ready to use and u will lose only 30 rounds at most.

Jordanian soldier gets life term for killing 3 US troops

A Jordanian soldier was sentenced Monday to life in prison after being convicted of killing three U.S. military trainers last year, but some said questions lingered about his motive for the shooting at a Jordanian air base.

Jordan has ruled out terrorism in the November shooting in which the convoy of the U.S. Army Green Berets came under fire at the base entrance.

The defendant has said he felt no animosity toward Americans and opened fire because he believed the base was coming under attack.

However, relatives of the slain U.S. troops have described security camera footage that they say shows him shooting for six minutes, reloading and aiming at the Americans, even as they identify themselves as friendly forces

After a “not guilty” plea, the Jordanian soldier, 1st Sgt. Marik al-Tuwayha, was tried by a military court in Jordan’s capital of Amman for the killings of Staff Sgt. Matthew C. Lewellen, 27, of Kirksville, Missouri; Staff Sgt. Kevin J. McEnroe, 30, of Tucson, Arizona; and Staff Sgt. James F. Moriarty, 27, of Kerrville, Texas.

During the monthlong trial, he watched the proceedings silently while standing in a cage in the courtroom.

He did not react Monday when the judge announced the verdict and the maximum possible sentence, life in prison with hard labor. When he was led out of the cage, he said: “I have all the respect for the king, but I was doing my job.”

Investigation Launched After SAS Posts Photos Of Deadliest Missions

user posted image

SAS members are in trouble with their superiors after sharing top secret photographs of covert operations and weapons to social media.

The elite fighting force sign a non-disclosure agreement before joining, which doesn’t seem to have stopped some servicemen sharing a little too much information online.

More than 2,000 photographs, featuring Special Ops servicemen and women on the frontline, standing alongside offensive weapons, have been posted to Facebook.

user posted image

They mark the first instance ever of the highly secretive SAS recruits being pictured with trained army dogs and K9 units.

The images are believed to have been taken in Iraq by UK troops, whose individual identities have been covered, but who are seen wearing the news style of British SAS combat gear.

Those uploading the photographs are in direct breach of the SAS and SBS Group Policy.

user posted image

The policy states no information must be revealed about operations, weapons, equipment or TTPs – Tactics, Training and Procedures.

The pictures emerged during an investigation into allegations that British special forces murdered innocent civilians in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, and went on to falsify mission documents to cover their tracks.

A rogue SAS unit is alleged to have killed suspected insurgents when the operation required only their detention back in 2011.

user posted image

The Royal Military Police (RMP) are also investigating claims the troops then planted guns on the victims to make them appear to be insurgents.

The investigation is part of Operation Northmoor, which has looked into deaths during the Afghan war, but only so far found one case of unlawful killing.

‘The images on this site are current and genuine’, a former SAS source told The Daily Star, adding: “Sometimes younger blokes want to see the profile of the regiment raised, but these guys have gone off-grid.”

user posted image

The source concluded: “The MoD have been looking at this and I predict it will be closed down.”

The Ministry of Defence are yet to offer comment.

Usually we would carry stripper clips or loose ammo in the dump bag to compensate the light carry

PMAG.... truly a gamechanger....

But even US units also dont get PMAGs as standard issue, slowly introducing or most of them will just buy on their own. Way more reliable and you can rest on the PMAG as a mono-pod no issues.

Indonesia To Test Home-made Medium Altitude Long Endurance Military Drone In 2019

Our Bureau
05:15 AM, July 17, 2017

Indonesia has started developing a large medium altitude long endurance (MALE) military drone which it plans to test in 2019.

A consortium consisting of aircraft maker PT Dirgantara, Indonesian Agency for Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT), state-owned electronic firm PT LEN, the Ministry of Defense and Security and the Bandung-based Institute of Technology is preparing to conduct a flight test for its larger Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) drone in 2019.

"For next drone development, we will develop larger MALE drone. It can fly for a longer distance, more loads and longer flight duration which can reach 24 hours. It will be used for border surveillance operations as part of the efforts to maintain security and defense," Antara news said quoting Wahyu Pandoe of the BPPT in Jakarta on Sunday.

Head of BPPT's Drone Program Joko Purwoto said Indonesia would have been able to conduct a flight test for its MALE drone in 2019.

Unlike the Alap-alap, the smaller drone built by the BPPT which consumes octane-98 gasoline, the larger MALE drone will use avtur aircraft fuel.

This drone is developed with a capability to fly for 24 hours at the altitude of 30,000 feet and with a load of not only cameras but also radars.

Tensions mount as Turkish and Kurdish forces clash in northern Syria

Mounting tensions between Kurdish and Turkish troops in northern Syria have threatened to open a new front in the country’s complex war.

The two US allies have traded blame over recent clashes in the Kurdish-controlled city of Afrin.

YPG fighters say Turkish military deployments in areas under their control amount to a declaration of war.

But Ankara considers the YPG an extension of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), which is outlawed in Turkey.

I believe US Army looked into it but the current plastic mags are not durable enough to fulfill their requirements

people like e.g. SOCOM prioritises usefulness in action and wouldn't give a shit but the rest of the army must consider issues like long-term storage/use, extreme temps and transport handling
