Ya, very good deal. But the sad thing is, I haven't receive the Airport Express yet, they say don't have stock and waiting for delivery. They said" if the item arrives, we will call you immediately." . . . it was more than 1 month ago when they said that. mad.gif

I got it from Digital Stuff at Low Yat Ground Floor. Not sure if they have stock in hand, because in December I got the last one in their shop.

The price for ibook should be quite standard everywhere. The important thing is they have stock. Check with any Apple shops or dealers, if you can still get the Free Airport Express deal or not?

Oh yes, another potential Mac user.

Programming dun need very high speed. I think, if you want to do programming anywhere, get Centrino because the battery can last you longer. If you do something with database like SQL, all you need is 1GB RAM.

RM4000-RM5000 can give a variety of choice. Head to Low Yat Plaza and look at all the laptop.

u don't need a GB to run sql server, unless is an dedicated sql server serve 100+ clients, but i doubt u do this in ur notebook right.

I use celeron M with 256MB ram + a 40GB Hdd is more than enough
for a complete install of Visual Studio .NET + MSDN, Java J2EE, SQL server 2000, MySQL, Oracle and IIS.

btw, i'm using compaq 2240AP with price less than RM3000

it depends on your own preference - which regards brands, warranty, type of use. If you don't mind about brand and services, go for Acer. Perhaps, with that price you can go for Dell.

NEC & Twinhead => very fast can heat up an egg. However, if you plan to study in overseas, get a more realiable notebook. Perhaps Toshiba, because this brand offers 2 years international warranty (some models).

brand preference is not important for doing SQL DB. if you are using IBM DB2 or Oracle, perhaps u may want to choose at least 1Ghz processing power and 512MB of ram.

If a little, any on board graphics card will do, but if intensive use of graphics, you'll need a radeon - hardware compatible card
