After 2nd service my car sometimes take long time to start.

Usually will start within 1 second, now I need to crank it for at least 2~3 seconds.

Is this symptom of weak battery?

the car already 3 year old, early bird purchase. sorry what is CoSE?
500+ for a key replace this is insane

Not need to pay so much. Just go to any authorised SC and request to have new addtional key chip / pad , and they will do duplicate for you .
The cost is only RM65+ .
I have 1 duplicate by SC last year .
Agreed with you this is the Proton design failure, they should replace to all Iriz owner FOC . But in Malaysia , never happen Proton replace their design failure products to customers FOC .

lol~

You do realise newer proton cars have immobiliser built in right?

Even the saga flx has a rfid chip in the keys.. without the registered rfid chip, engine does not crank..

u can buy new key fob.. just transplant the rfid chip that comes with the old key into the new one..

Even the first gen myvi has an immobiliser built in the ecu..

so no wonder it cost 500

I never try the app. Simply when the time is come, just call the SC to book a week before that. Refer to the schedule inside service booklet to get the idea OR simply ask them for advice (and est. cost too if you curious) while you book the slot.

Used minor part change for my reverse sound - they called me the next working day and reconfirmed my booking, went today. Used the app on saturday, they called monday.

For your 20k, maybe major service? Since 20k is a big deal.

In regards to parts changed, they said just rewired my reverse wiring..

But for some reason my infotainment system changed to an image with flowers and water rclxub.gif never even seen a display or menu setup in the settings. Did they update my infotainment firmware? sweat.gif
And i asked in regards to CVT update, they said nothing is coming to Iriz atm... sad.gif

Quick question,

I saw on Iriz's spare tyre at the back and was surprised with something written there "INFLATE TO 420KPA"

Is this real?

if theres no weak battery indicator on dashboard, perhaps drive the car to workshop and measure the battery level?

Yup. Inflate to 60psi.. so the small tyre can take the weight..

Hi guys, I've got a second hand proton Iriz 1.6 premium last week. I've done the 20K service and asked them to change the sparks and fuel filter as well.

So far, it was a good experience. Smooth driving and good handling.
As everyone mentioned here, rattling sound comes from everywhere smile.gif
CVT whining too. acceleration is not that bad, of course its not going to be same as manual. but its ok.

However I encountered 2 issues which I wanna ask you guys.
1) When I press the push start button, sometimes it takes a long time for engine to start (specially when the engine is already warm/hot)
2) the fuel consumption in city is around 9.6, although I drive very gently to reduce FC, but it never goes less than 9.4.

stuck in traffic jam, constantly need to stop and go/pedal fuel consumption is really high, only smooth journey without stops it saves fuel. so i pedal as light as i can if not in hurry lol

Got my Proton Iriz 1.3 cvt in 2015, mileage is approaching 10k. So far, the following problems have been fixed:
- 'Tikus' sound at dashboard
- Child lock not working (on or off, passenger cannot open from inside)
- Fuel smell in the car after pumping

Now, new problems emerged:

- I noticed on a few occasions that my car would jerk when I was slowing down (happened between 20-35 km/h and doesn't happen always)

- Reverse sensor. It seems to work fine but I suspect it's not consistent. Once I bumped into a car at the back during reverse.. the sensor didn't produce any alarm. In this case I'm not sure whether it's the sensor problem, or it was because the car showed up from the lorong abruptly. I was reversing the car pretty slowly.

- Power window problem. I couldn't believe it when my driver side window wouldn't wind up anymore.. never occurred to me that would still happen to a new car model of Proton. I was struggling for at least half an hour including restarting the engine, eventually I had to leave my car there at the office carpark with the window opened (and asked the security guard to look after my car for me). Went to the service center and they sprayed something to the surrounding of the window, and the window could be wound up again. They told me the window has run out of lubricant and this spray may last until next service. Then the next day, I noticed that the window struggled to go up.. and was getting worse the following days. Now I don't wind down the window anymore, I open the door to get/insert ticket. I'm afraid that one of these days it may just decide to die off completely. Any advice, people???

- Child lock not working (on or off, passenger cannot open from inside) i havent heard anyone with this problem. try to check at sc
- Fuel smell in the car after pumping reason is there is a gap that lead the smell to the cabin. nothing serious as it will be gone if u wind down the window. and it can be rectify at sc

Now, new problems emerged:

- I noticed on a few occasions that my car would jerk when I was slowing down (happened between 20-35 km/h and doesn't happen always) this one i dunno. but i thought that is common cvt characteristic?

Any advice, people??? this is common proton problem. just that happen quite frequently last time but not this time around. luckily proton have lifetime warranty for power window. go to sc and tell them to do it asap. no cost unless your warranty void
