Opps, typo error.
Im not bringing any RM to Taiwan.. Is just that should i can half half TWD and USD? or totally change USD there and change at airport.
By the way, i saw about 2-3 money changer at there, which 1 got the bestest rate or all of them is the same rate?
After immigration. or b4 immigration eh?

USD is about RM3.40 and the best NTD is RM10.95 in Gian Kinrara.
Stimix, if you have few thousand NTD left, can change back RM with me.

Aiyah I changed all in Taipei & also remaining few hundreds at Taiyuan airport hours ago...now only left about NT$30 blush.gif

Just change everything to US$ 1st & thereafter there are atleast 5-6 money changers (Banks) located inside the airports. All having same rate..just change anyone u wish...However at airport, they will follow actual market rate minus NT$30 as commission. At Taipei, They follow to the nearest cent but no commission at all...

Oh.. now i got confident to change all my RM into USD already.
Then only change my USD into NT

What if I did not use all my NT, i can change back USD at taoyuan airport right.

Hows the exchange rate are? Is it better to change at airport instead of KL here? they also charge NT30?

Yes you can change bck to US$ at the airport..pretty fast process but NT30 for sure. If change bck at Taipei city, abit of red tape..longer period & they need to photostat your passport...rate not as good as airport but no commission. Well for small amt, converting in Taipei will be abit better.. but expecting normal banks services & que/

Easiest way to check the rate is from here:
http://rate.bot.com.tw/Pages/Static/UIP003.en-US.htm

yesterday cash buying rate for US$ was at 31.9642 at airport & 31.965 at the city.

Actually im not quite good in seeing this exchange rate, which one to refer? cash / spot?
Is it the exchange rate they are showing at taoyuan airport now?
That means USD 1 = TWD 32.492? or USD 1 = TWD 32.35 ?

U have to use the cash part bcos u carrying cash what..haha.

When you convert US$ to NT$ they are selling NT$ to you so use the selling rate. When you converting back, it's Buying rate..The diff is their commission kua...& the NT$30 probably to cover the rental at the airport?

What I mean is at Taouyuan airport Yesterday, I convert bck my NT$ to US$ at 31.9642 minu NT$30 but I exchanged most of my NT$ at Taipei city at 31.965 but without additional charges....changing small amt at Taipei city better.

LOL, sorry ya. Im abit dumb.
Maybe I should not be asking so much about exchange rate here.
But this is last question. LOL. Please refer below

Based on wawasan
Exchange rate: USD 1 : RM 3.407
RM 3500 : USD 1192

Exchange rate: RM 1 : NT 11.00
RM 3500 : NT 31818

Based on Taoyuan airport
Exchange rate: USD 1 : NT 32.487
USD 1192 : NT 38725 - NT 30 = NT 38695

Is that mean I earned
NT 38695 (Taoyuan) - NT 31818 (Wawasan)
= NT 6877 ?!!?! = RM 756???!?!

So much of diff ka?

Sorry for troubling you. =P

and RM1: NTD 9.13 only... based on the rate of RM10.95:NTD100

don think too much. u wont earn so much out of the exchange. Stop Dreaming!!!!!! sweat.gif

Added on December 16, 2009, 4:37 pmand the rate for USD to NTD is only 31.97. U should see the column of Buying (the bank is buying the USD from u) not the Selling column. Always look at their side not ur side.

so:

if buying from wawasan

RM -> NTD RM11:NTD100

RM3500 = NTD 31,818

RM -> USD RM3.425:USD1

RM3,500 = USD1,022

Then USD -> NTD 1USD:NTD31.97

USD1,022 = NTD32,673

Okay, generally i understand.

But abit confuse to see the BOT website from selling / buying column
Bcoz
@Bank saying is Buying
@ stimix saying is Selling

So i should refer to Selling / Buying column?
By the way for wawasan rate, we also refer to Selling column right?

Be patient...Very tedious process of resizing & uploading to photbucket. BTW, the Onn Lai tart at airport is at NT$550 for a box of 10 nia. I thought the one I got from Jiufen already so expensive at NT$240 for box of 12!! Cheapest & better than Juifen I got it at Dansui at NT100 for a box of 10.

Well...the 2 onn lai tart that I got so-so only...Melaka's LW much better.
