QUOTE(@lice~~ @ Mar 16 2011, 04:17 PM) 3rd party...Added on March 16, 2011, 8:29 pm QUOTE(wshoh @ Mar 16 2011, 04:01 PM) Thanks. I wasn't aware that there are ATM cards which are linked to the Plus/Maestro/Cirrus network (such as CIMB's) but yet do not come with debit card functions. Yes. Check with your respective banks to find out if their atm card can be used or not. I've only asked CIMB, MBB and PBB. PBB can't use ATM card to withdraw money oversea.Anyway, the main reason of my post was to alert forum readers from assuming that any ATM card will do - you need to ensure that your ATM/Debit Card has the Visa Plus/MasterCard Maestro/Cirrus logo on it. Otherwise, you may not be able to withdraw cash overseas. QUOTE(wshoh @ Mar 16 2011, 04:01 PM) You can easily get the Easylink card from the MRT station (pun intended) Well, i have actually 8 brand new easylink card... so i need to combine into 2 only QUOTE(wshoh @ Mar 16 2011, 04:01 PM) Have a fun and safe trip to Taiwan...the weather in Taipei was more or less like Genting Highlands from 3/3/2011 to 8/3/2011 (average 15 degrees?) - you could do fine in a spring jacket and an extra layer of shirt. Should be warmer now. Thank you. will monitor the weather forecast daily now. Hope the radiation level in Taiwan is within permissible limit.QUOTE(wshoh @ Mar 16 2011, 04:01 PM) BTW, a digital luggage scale may be useful to help keep your luggage weight in check! Pineapple cakes and Sun biscuits can weigh a tonne as well as lots of nice Starbucks mugs (for the collector). I have the scale... This post has been edited by jlgoh9: Mar 16 2011, 08:30 PM |

QUOTE(@lice~~ @ Mar 17 2011, 10:14 AM) Hostelworld.com ? Hahah. I guess nobody has recommended Wego here yet due to shyness Thx Added on March 17, 2011, 10:20 am Not sure where tis motel located.. but my friend is highly recommended.. maybe u can take a look here : http://www.we-go.com.tw/ Had wanted to stay a night there but not feasible for my trip during early March 2011. Will definitely try Wego, Eden or iMore on next trip...good place for a romantic honeymoon. This motel is not your traditional motel or even hotel... Details are a simple Google away, do note that these places usually only accept couples...and tend to be less wallet-friendly. |

When i was there last Oct end - early Nov, Taipei were pretty rainy... drizzling, so it will be a bit cold. But i can survive with my cardigan and leggings. It will be even colder at nite. The temp roughly ~ 18 - 20 degree celcius. Higher places like Taoyuan (Leofoo Park & Windows of China) were super cold due to strong wind. Were shivering all the time.
It was pretty opposite when i was in Kaoshiung, the weather is sunny cool but humid until i sweat. I think i sweat the most in Kaoshiung. Taichung also pretty sunny with cool breeze. So, the weather pretty much depends on the location also. Do bring a thicker jacket/cardigan just in case. But most of the time i walked a lot so i dun feel that cold.. |

I'm going to taiwan on the 25th of March.
Just curious, is it safe to go there now? since there is a nuclear fallout in Japan, will the nuclear radiation spread to Taiwan? |
