Since u r going twds the end of the year...Go look around for promotion ticket. Singapore airline sometimes offer RM800 return ticket excl taxes, though gotta transit Spore. JetStar budget airline at Spore also flying taipei. U may check it out too.
EVA air and China Airline are other options...but they seldom have promo ticket.

For 8 Day , I Thinks U Can't Travel fINISH , Coz Taiwan Is Big Town , Got East ,South , West , North !

i went taipei to watch s.h.e concert on 2006 sept 4.. 3days 2nights tour.. lolx..
all f.o.c ( air tickets,accomodation n food-breakfast,lunch,dinner sponsored by hotlink )
but i spent 1k+ in 2days..
coz i nvr sleep for 2nites,non stop walking around.. went si men ting to shop..
the items is freaking exp! but u nid to nego.. just like Petaling Street.. but the sellers are mostly LENG LUI!!

I was in Taiwan for 2 weeks...
I love the weather there in Nov, it was cool and breezy..
taichung, hualien,danshui,ximending,taipei, yingge, yilan....all I went except the southern part - Tainan..

I will be going there again soon...Taiwan is a great place for ppl who reads chinese and speak mandarin/hokkien (tai-yu)
It's just like visiting Japan in a way...as the building and culture are similiar..esp the gals..

haizz .. I miss that place .. kesian change new company no chance to go there anymore except forking my own money

and bring lots of money there.

I was there also when the earthquake struck the place few days back. whole hotel was shaking. haha

and then later I saw a lady attempt to commit suicide by jumping down, anyway she didnt.

I always watch the TV show program by Jacky Wu, get to see alot of nice foods and places. Can get some tips from there.

i'm planning to go end of this year oso, about 10 of us, haven't buy any ticket yet, but might just go to taipei and spent about 5-7 days there. any travel agency is reliable so far ?

hi there, i would like to know u go there backpack style? for 2 weeks how much roughly u spent?
i planning to go there for 3 weeks around dec. so which hotel u stay in? i dont mind the * of the hotel as long as the hotel is clean and ok i am ok with it cos most of the time will not be in the hotel. i plan to go there backpack style.
so i wont want to spend alot of hotel. how about travelling in the country? by mrt or what?
there there any interesting places that cant reach with public transport?

how much u spent in total? u go there by tour or backpack style?
which hotel u stay and how much is it per nite?
transportation? easily reach by mrt or some places cannot reach by public bus?
whats the weather there in sept? got summer cloths sales?

after read most of the taiwan travel thread, it seems that taiwan is more famous in foods, markets, shopping and shoes...isn't there any beautiful scenery place to go there? i love more to nature stuffs...

Shopping in Taipei

Taipei Main Station
The other underground malls are at the Taipei Main Station. The Front Station mall is shorter and the other is at the Rear, known as Taipei Metro Mall. This is long. Both are good places to pick up bargains - shoes at NT200/ Undies/Socks from NT30 up, Hats/Caps/Umbrellas/Tshirts from NT100/- Fung Hsui stuff (neat stuff to giveaway From NT10 ~NT50) When you get tired of walking, there are places there to eat or have a cuppa.


Hsinyi District
Taipei 101 shopping centers: New York, New York, ???? n Warner Village. High class shopping area.


WuFenPu - HouShanPi MRT (wholesale clothes market)
After Singkong Mitsukoshi in Xinyi, Cross the road to Warner Village Bus Stop and take Bus 611 or 284 to Wufenpu about 7 mins away. Wufenpu is good on weekends avoid going on a Monday. This is a wholesale shopping haven for the ladies.


Ximenting (XMT)
More for youngsters and teenagers. Most happening during weekends where singers sign autographs and movie stars doing promotions etc.


Raohe Night Market
Just walk over from WuFenPu.

Damn, i will be in Taiwan holiday for a week on this Friday but it seems that Taiwan is being hit by Typhoon Krosa. Do u think it;s safe to go??

yeah, a fren of mine at taiwan said that there are 2 typhoon n mild earthquake around Taipei n Yilan area....
I'm going Taiwan end of this month, he said those disaster should be away tat time....
