Didn't really notice, however you san go to any MRT station and buy the card which initial payment is TWD500 with TWD400 of credit and TWD100 as deposit.
No worries, it's refundable and you can use it on bus ride, same as Singapore.

EasyCard (traditional Chinese: 悠遊卡) is a contactless smartcard system operated by Taipei Smart Card Corporation for use on the Taipei Rapid Transit System and on buses and other public transport services in Taipei since June 2002. Like conventional electronic fare systems, the card employs RFID technology to operate without physical contact. One thing I am very sure is EASYCARD also can use to purchase the entrance ticket for ZOO TAIPEI.. This post has been edited by transit: Apr 24 2010, 07:20 AM

Easy card has just been mentioned numerous times hust few posts above & pages b4 this...it's Taipei Touch & Go system lah...and not only limited to locals but foreigners as well...You don't see our Touch & Go limited to local as well hor haha...Anyway, their easycard giving auto discount on ride but our Touch & Go charge commission everytime u buy..for eg RM0.50 charged on top-up & ~2% mark-up at any parking systeme accepting T&G!!
Youth card only for limited age group & available at the airport..Check 1st page infor on this & easy card

QUOTE(-Max91- @ Apr 25 2010, 12:47 PM) erm i know roughly how much i need to spend for a 2 week backpack trip to taiwan?(in RM) how to estimate if u didn't specify where u r going (Taiwan is kinda big) and what kind of food u'll be eating. Try to be more specific on the way of your spending and i think some seniors(young ones ) will be able to give u an estimation.
