Best entry point would be $100 "take profit" zone.

Which may or may not happen. Perhaps we'll revisit $80ish for a week

Or we're steaming ahead till $150 before our scheduled correction.

Again I hope such correction occurs soon before the bulk of announcements, possibly during the Consensus conference on the 22nd till 24th

Let's enjoy a sustainable growth rather than parabolic movements
*
I fully agree.
I can only buy once a month after my salary comes out, and it's so painful when I saw the price that I could buy it at, last month.
Original entry price was way back in the teens though, so I guess I shouldn't complain.

Hey, this is Werner, Head of Growth at Luno. I just want to clarify on that 1% fee you mentioned. Luno did not (and does not) charge a cancellation fee on our exchange. We do charge a trading fee on market orders and a small fee on withdrawing Malaysian ringgit to your bank account (but not for cancellations, limit orders, MYR deposits nor storing of Bitcoin).

If you make a market order on the Luno Exchange (as in, you buy or sell Bitcoin at the market rate), the transaction will incur a 1% fee.

If you make a limit order on the Exchange (as in, you place an order to buy or sell at the desired price), the transaction will incur a 0% fee. You can cancel limit orders and we don't charge a fee for that.

If you want to see all our fees in Malaysia, see this: Luno Country Fees

This shouldn't distract from the fact that you're angry at us (maybe about something unrelated?) but I'd be happy to help fix the issue if you're still stuck/annoyed at us? Alternatively, our Community Team is happy to help out: https://www.luno.com/help/en/
*
As already mentioned by others, we desperately need ETH/MYR on Luno.
You guys are missing out on a lot of business opportunities here.
Any plans to roll it out in the near future?

They are planning to unveil their full entertainment suite on the 19th at the Ethereal conference.

I like how they're taking on giants such as Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Or perhaps even the TV industry!

Worth a buy for sure.

Edit: crypto cap going for $45 billion today

How are we not on mainstream news yet?
*
Quite frankly, I think it's great that we are not on mainstream news yet.
I prefer it that way, at least until I can accumulate more BTC and ETH.
At least give it another year. Hehe.

In my opinion, Malaysia's impact on cryptos will probably be a drop in the ocean, well maybe a few drops. Nothing compared to the big boys!
Yeah, I read that yesterday and was searching for anything about cryptocurrency. Sirxl, do you know what's our government's stand is on cryptocurrency? I'm a bit worried that one day they will declare something that would not be in the best interest for us cryptocurrency investors.
*
This is the last official statement from Bank Negara Malaysia regarding bitcoin (I assume it refers to cryptocurrency in general).
There are no new regulations or legislation.

But, if they ever do try to do anything funny with my stash, I'll just move it elsewhere.
The world is a big place to play in......don't be limited to just one small country.

Wow this is crazy.
Everything is going up too fast and money is pouring into cryptocurrency like there's no tomorrow.
No more buying for me for the moment.

I'm only fearful of a bug with Casper.

Apart from that, it doesn't take a crystal ball to see where it's going, much much higher than $97.

Nice to know polo shorters are making it very affordable during the weekends, great springboard once the inevitable squeeze occurs.

I'm dying to know who gets announced next. C'mon don't leave us hanging.
*
Oh, I am fully convinced that the overall long term trend will be heading upwards.
Just that I think the current meteoric rise over the past two days is more due to public euphoria than anything else.
I would really like to see a more stable support level being formed first before the price continues on.
But I'm all out of funds at the moment anyway, so it doesn't make any difference.

I'm using trezor but I just ordered ledger nano S. Today is saturday but I hope courier will still send it by today.

Why 2 hardware wallet you ask? Well, I'm not comfortable with keeping all coins in one wallet. Need to distribute it smile.gif Ledger also supports other coin like stratis and hopefully ripple soon.
*
I received an email from Ledger yesterday saying that my order was shipped from France! rclxm9.gif
Hopefully I get it within the next few days.
So, like you, I'll be having 2 hardware wallets as well.

That's great, hope they will release the update very soon.
Meanwhile, unfortunately, I still have quite a bit of other types of coins that are currently unsupported by any hardware wallets......guess I have no choice but to leave them on the exchange.

Me too. Say, did you managed to get cheaper postage? Or it is still EUR 50?
*
No, I got it directly shipped from France for EUR 58 plus EUR 23.70 shipping.
So, total was EUR 81.70, or around RM388.
But, bear in mind that I am currently not living in Malaysia.
No idea why it is more expensive to deliver to Malaysia though.

If anyone is interested, you can visit our website www.pennywise.sg or you can drop me an email hello@pennywise.sg. Please indicate that you're from lowyat so I can give you a special rate biggrin.gif

I am also in various chat groups in telegrams and discord, the chat is quite active and there can be useful news about upcoming ICOs. Let me know also! I just found this forum and I will be very active here biggrin.gif

Sorry, a bit off topic, but every time I hear the name "Pennywise" it gives me the chills.

Good morning crazy cryptoland!  rclxm9.gif

After a short lull, cryptocurrencies are resuming their march!!!  rclxms.gif Let's see whether it can hit 50B market cap. The only thing I can comment is that somebody better produce a hardware wallet that support more altcoins!!!  vmad.gif
Since I started cryptocurrencies, I just couldn't be bothered with other investments. FD? Yuck. Foreign currencies? Forget it. Stocks? Bye bye. Bonds? Lousy. Gold? Static. Of course, you should diversify. Don't put all in one basket. For me, cryptocurrencies are taking up about 15% of my total investments.

Errmm.... if world war starts, I think all investments would be useless......  sweat.gif
*
I must be the craziest person here.
I think about 40% of my total investment is in cryptocurrency.
Do NOT follow what I do.
It's sheer lunacy.

Hello guys. I'm with 0% investment in cryptocurrency. Is there a minumum amount recommended to start?
*
There really is no minimum amount required.
However, the maximum amount should be whatever amount you are fully prepared to lose completely without affecting your life negatively.

Just one small advice......be realistic in your expectations.
If you put in RM100 today, do not expect to see it become RM 1 million next year.
Always assess your performance in terms of percentage, not dollar amount.
And visit the first page for more details.
Good luck!

Hi guys, would it be better to dump your money into this or gold???

If invest in this if a world war starts, your money will be gone with the records?
*
That really depends on your personal preference, risk appetite and investment objectives.
Personally for me, I prefer cryptocurrency over gold, for various reasons, but that's just me.

QUOTE(kmarc @ May 7 2017, 11:27 AM)
Ya ya, the crazy guy with 2 hardware wallet!  tongue.gif

Well, I wouldn't say totally crazy. Millionaires are made from smart investments, crazy gambling, risk taking or what not. 10% is only a general rule for those who has a low risk appetite which unfortunately, won't get a person far (unless it is cryptos!  laugh.gif). In terms of risk profiling, on a scale of 1 to 10, maybe you fall in the 4-5 category?  innocent.gif

Just don't go gambling away your properties or life savings!!!
*
Actually, I'd even go so far as to say I'm a 7 or 8.
Most of my investments are in unit trusts, and even those I go for the highest risk ones (small caps).
sweat.gif

QUOTE(scottyvstheworld @ May 7 2017, 02:33 PM)
So if I start this now is not too late or it is already at it's peak???
*
In the grand scheme of things, cryptocurrency is still very much in its infancy phase, as we are only about 8 years old from when bitcoin first became commercially available.
In fact, most of these high performing altcoins you see today, only started within the last 4 years.
I am convinced that cryptocurrency is a game changer, and will totally revamp the way we see finances and money......sort of like how electronic calculators replaced the abacus, and the email replaced conventional snail mail.
So......no, it is not too late, and we are still many years away from its "peak".

In the short term, though, prices during the last few days have been very volatile, so if you are thinking to join the club, I would advise to spread your purchases instead of one large lump sum.
As with any other investment vehicle, though, please exercise extreme caution, do your own due diligence to educate yourself in cryptocurrency, and only invest whatever amount you are prepared to lose.
Good luck!

You can check btc historical price to see where luno price stands.
The effective price I bought usually few hundreds myr more expensive than luno listed price, not sure why buy probably thats the free
*
QUOTE(jack2 @ May 7 2017, 04:43 PM)
It means if the price quoted on top right price + 100 MYR more = your effective price?
*
As with any other online exchange, Luno uses the average price for its charts.
Meaning, the bitcoin price you see on the top right of the page, is the prevailing average price between the highest bid and lowest ask on their exchange, at the point of their system refresh.
Especially for exchanges with low liquidity, where the buy/sell spread is larger, you will see a very large difference between the "bitcoin price" and your effective buy or sell price.
For example, if the lowest offer is RM 7000 and the highest bid is RM 6600, the quoted "bitcoin price" on the website will be RM 6800, but it doesn't mean you can actually buy or sell at RM 6800.

Thanks.

They use the mid price of buy/sell for the price as shown in the top right there.

So buy sell depends on buyers to buy directly from sellers or sellers to sell directly to buyers or queuing.

It seems that I can offer better price.  rclxm9.gif
*
Well, if you could consistently offer a price that is slightly lower than the lowest asking price on Luno and XBit Asia, then you'd do alright, I reckon.
But bear in mind that this also depends heavily on market sentiment at any given time.
When the market is volatile (for example during sudden bull runs) then buyers are usually more willing to pay a higher price, which then narrows down the buy/sell spread.
I've seen spreads as small as RM 30 on XBit Asia before, meaning you could buy/sell very near the quoted average price.

Haha, I also did invest in unit trust. My only smallcaps unit trust made me some money too. Sold off together with my stocks when I exited the stock market a few years ago.  smile.gif Now I don't hold any unit trust and only one stock counter (which is making a loss!). My plan was to enter stocks again when the next big crash came along but now with cryptos, I don't care about stocks anymore!  bruce.gif Stocks now looks like a tamed tiger compared to cryptos!

My only worry with cryptos now is the money on exchanges and the question of tax. That's one reason I need the ledger, can offload stratis immediately and in the future, ripple and monero.
*
I still hold two stock counters, both dividend stocks.
Unit trust I am holding because I withdraw from my EPF account every 3 months, as I do not trust the government with my money. Served me well so far......touch wood!

If you are serious into investing with cryptocurrency, it is strongly advisable to get a hardware wallet.
Ledger Nano S is a good one that you can look into.
Check out a few pages earlier, Jack2 is organising a group purchase to get better discounts, you can contact him by PM if you are interested.

i try look into the sell/buy localbitcoin , a bit confuse..

there is button buy and sell

buy as in i want to buy from trader?
sell as in i want to sell to the trader?

so many online bank trf..  confused.gif
*
Actually, for newbies, I would recommend starting off with online exchanges like XBit Asia, Luno, Coinhako, etc. depending on where you are.
More systematic and structured, and you don't have to worry about scammers (though price might not always be the best).
Localbitcoins is OK but you just need to exercise caution to protect yourself.

I don't hold any STR......what's the deal with this coin?
Does it actually have any real life usage, or is it only just the classic pump and dump token?
I looked at the history charts and seems it had been on a steady decline since the last two years, and it suddenly recovered all its losses over the last two years in less than 4 days.
Very suspicious. hmm.gif
