Good morning!  biggrin.gif Not really good morning for altcoins today huh? Gamecredits rally fell flat. Mobilego raised only 4.6 million so far. USD problem at bitfenix and Polo still not resolved, making BTC prices higher there (and even in bittrex)!  vmad.gif

My funds are all tied up. Invested 0.4 BTC in mobilego. Moved some funds from NAV to Strat. You know, high to low. Other than that, hope for something exciting today!  biggrin.gif

It's amazing how big the spread is between USDT and USD now, despite the fact that they were originally supposed to be pegged.
I did the same, cashing out some of the profits from the highs, and loading up a bit on the lows.

Wow......I haven't been looking closely for the past few days, and NAVcoin just shot up over the last 2 days.
What happened there?
What's the news?

told u to come Bloktex and ask the lead dev lah. lol.
*
Not so easy to do that, considering that I do not live in Malaysia.
Haha.
Anyway, it's very easy to get updates from Google these days......I'm just lazy.

QUOTE(klthor @ Apr 26 2017, 04:01 PM)
interesting, poloneix kena sue? sorry can read the passage as my office block it.... currently im mining directly into my poloneix account, trade it into btc and lend out the excess i have. if poloneix closing down, i might need to shift my eth and btc elsewhere or hold it myself. yeah too lazy to hold these coin in my own wallet ....
*
Nah, I don't think Poloniex will close down, it's not that serious yet, but in any case, you shouldn't be holding your BTC and ETH stashes on an online exchange anyway.
Too dangerous.

Even after so many hacking incidents and all exchanges have been much more careful and vigilant, there are still hack and theft cases happening even today.
Please be extra careful with your investments and always put your stash in hardware wallets.
Never put more than what is needed for trading, on online exchanges.

Made me worry of my coin. I have been kept it at Poloniex all these while, with 2 factor identification so I thought it will be safe?
*
As long as your coins are stored on an online exchange connected to the internet, they are never really truly safe.
A system that is 99.9% secure just means that you have a 0.1% security risk.
It all depends on your risk appetite, really...... how comfortable you are leaving them on the exchange versus how much you loathe the trouble of transferring them to your hardware wallet.

And remember one important fact.
If you don't control the private keys to your coins, they are not really truly yours.

so you have a hardware wallet as well?
so if I want to keep ETH I can buy the ledger as in your signature? So the ledger will contain whatever ETH I have transferred from Poloniex?
*
Yes, of course I do.
But because back then I was only accumulating bitcoin, the hardware wallet that I bought could only support bitcoin (CoolWallet).
These days, I recommend you get the Ledger Nano S.
Hardware wallets don't actually store "coins", but rather they store the private keys to your coins.
Always remember, whoever holds the private keys, control and own the coins.

Have u been buying btc even early- end of march your appreciation to usd easily >30%

True, but if you had been buying ETH instead of BTC from early March, your profit would have been 300% instead of 30%. thumbsup.gif
I bought both though......so still, pretty happy with myself. rclxms.gif

Which platform is easy to buy sell ETH?
*
In Malaysia, you cannot buy ETH directly using MYR, you have to procure BTC first and then trade it.
There are many online exchanges that can easily let you trade your BTC to ETH.
Personally, I use Poloniex, but there are so many exchanges for you to choose from, check out the first page for more info.

If it costs USD10000 per 1 BTC, I am kaya liao.. haha
*
USD 10k per BTC is very much possible.
The question is when.
And that will depend heavily on how things unravel over the next few months, whether there will be any real solution to the current stalemate.
And also how widely adopted BTC will become, and whether the world governments will finally open up and recognise it as legal tender, as Japan has recently done.

In fact I personally believe it is an inevitable progression......it is no longer possible for the world to go back to the days before cryptocurrency, just like how the world can no longer go back to the days before internet.

iEx.ec (RLC) Seem promising.
Looks like it almost similar with Golem concept.
RLC just finish their ico and get 10m i think within 6 hour.
Traded in liqui.io before this. Today got listed in bittrex ico open price probably 17k sats.(might get added in polo later)
Jump to 28-29k now. I missed it when it got down to 20k sats. (No extra fund) cry.gif
Just gonna focus on GNT for now.
*
One thing with all these ICOs is that I see so many that launch with great hype, then promptly nose-dive and end up losing 99% of their original price within a very short period of time.
Makes me afraid to commit to ICOs.

It's $33.3 billion now, madness growth we're all witnessing here. Worthy of front page in major newspapers.

Btw, we have a new date for ENS relaunch, May the "forth" be with us.

Pay attention to just how many ETH gets locked here, that'll be the rocket fuel we need to reach $100 after the EEA reveal.
*
I think there's something like 91 million ETH around, so what's the estimated amount to be locked?
Damn, my bonus is not out yet. I had wanted to load up before the prices jump due to the ENS.
Hope I don't miss the boat!
But on the other hand, I think I will still stick to my original plan and split my hoarding between BTC and ETH.
I think the future is bright for both of them.

The top area of Coinmarketcap
That depends on adoption, but I'm guessing a few hundred thousand ETH to start, factoring in the enterprise names.

But when ETH gets ubiquitous enough, a million bah.

Not too shabby.
*
One thing that keeps weighing in at the back of my mind is whether the current euphoria on ETH is a bit too hyped up surrounding this EEA news.
For example, if, after the EEA reveal, the progress is not as "blockbuster" as it was perceived to be, then there would be a massive correction......and I do not want to be buying in on the current high.
Of course, the other end of the spectrum is also possible, where the rocket ignites and shoots to USD 100 and I'll have missed the boat.
This is killing me......

I just found out that this website also sells ledger nano S. Looks like it is based in Singapore. Free delivery in Singapore. Registered mail $5 and courier $22 to Sibu. Not bad. wengherng

Edit : Sorry, here's the link : https://coinzin.com/
*
Hey mate, I just checked out their site, seems not bad at all.
I think I will buy from them and opt for the registered mail, still cheaper compared to shipping from France!

Do your own reading and gauge the fundamentals yourself.

A 0.5-2% investment wouldn't hurt.

Wow you must be laughing your way to the banks.

One question tough, I know that in general capital gain has no tax in MY. But will the profit gain from buying and selling these crypto be taxable?  (given that there is a possibility to really earn a few hundreds/thousands %)
*
Currently, there is no legislation on cryptocurrency in Malaysia, same as most other countries in the world, as they cannot seem to decide definitively whether it falls under legal tender currency category, or asset category.
For the moment, you can think of it as somewhat like stocks, where you buy and trade. There are no taxes on profits from the stock market.

Well, think of it this way......with the price trend of ETH now, even if you were to stay in a mental hospital, you can afford the first class rooms.
With a private nurse.

I wonder if there is any chance the current hype will correct itself, and the prices will come down a bit by next Wednesday so I can buy......

It will most definitely correct, we just don't know when and how much. $45? Or just $60

But it'll have to happen before the announcement.

Btw there's always a pattern I've been noticing, a price rise sometimes occurs right before payday, ETH rises first, then the ICO token follow shortly after.

In this case, Golem is amazing, outperforming ETH on the day itself, that indicates a strong support and less likely to correct as much.

A good hedge indeed, brass golem can't come soon enough.
*
I'll take your word for it.
Anyway, seems I can't do anything before next Wednesday so no point crying about it.
I can only hope for the best.
If it really does drop to USD 45 next Wednesday before it shoots up on May 4th, I'll be a freaking happy man.

Hindsight is always 20/20

Can't say I didn't try, only 250 people clicked my thread, even lesser people took advantage of the news to gain 400%+

EEA launch day

Went from $15 to $55 at its peak, dived to $42, went back to $50 for two weeks, and here we are.

It will happen again with round 2. I can only guarantee ludicrous price movements, nothing more.

Aiyah, I don't go to that section of Lowyat forum la... sad.gif
Oh well, I can only think positive and have faith that we'll one day see USD 1k ETH......

wengherng Can you kindly add this part to our guide, under "How to buy cryptocurrencies (bitcoins and altcoins) in Malaysia (using MYR)?". The last part after mentioning all the available exchanges. Thx!

Important : In order to get the best BTC price, it is recommended that you check out the prices on all 4 BTC/MYR exchanges. For today, Localbitcoins and Remitano prices are too high. Xbit Asia lower but the best price is at Luno. The only problem with Xbit and Luno is you need to login/sign up to see BTC market details and you need to transferred money to the exchange's bank account which will only be reflected in your account after they have processed it.
*
Done......with a few minor rewording.

By the way, among Poloniex and Bittrex that you are using, which one offers a better rate for BTC/ETH?
Or no significant difference?

Planning to buy it this afternoon.
Will have to check again at that time, which website offers the best price and delivery time.
Getting scared, too much holding being held in exchanges now.
