don't forget NAVcoin.

NAVcoin dropped 70% since last September to this February...... sad.gif
Only recently it is starting to see some positive trends.
Hopefully the trend continues on.

Good I will pay attention on those 2 companies. Cheers.
Wow that's very good information there. I will look for these companies
My thought is like splitting my fund into 2 portions, one putting in ETH and the other one put in stocks, hopefully will be good
*
Why only ETH?
There are many cryptocurrency coins available, like BTC for example.
I would recommend diversifying a bit, and not put all your investments in one cryptocurrency only, no matter how good the future seems.
The majority of my crypto-nestegg is also in ETH, but I do keep quite a few other types as well.

For start, I'm planning to commit full time on Golem, Storj, Filecoin, SWARM and an ethereum full node

so a powerful gaming pc with decent cooling and 5 to 10 TB space would be a good start.

I'll upgrade accordingly once there's sufficient demand.

What kind of returns can one realistically expect?

Indeed, I see many threads within this Business forum with scams and MLMs and Ponzis. Problem is, many people are still falling for them.

That highly depends on overall adoption, you won't buy new iPhones with this, but your bills would be free.

Don't hold your breath, I'm only building it once star citizen beta arrives, might be 2018 or later.
Everyone already have a decent gaming pc and broadband by now, so it's just paying off the excess SSD hardware and electricity, very doable within 6 months.
*
Well, that sounds reasonable. At least the hardware pays for itself, and setting up a full node is a good way of giving back and supporting the network.

QUOTE(kmarc @ Apr 20 2017, 09:21 AM)
Anyway, sent a ticket to Polo last night, requesting them to give fair warning for any coins that they might want to delist. At least 1-3 months notice. Told them that if they value their customer (and their welfare), they shouldn't abruptly announce delisting without warning as that is a guarantee for their customers to lose money. Hope they do something about it.
For me, I won't be buying anymore coins from Polo at the moment, will try out bittrex and see what happens.
*
Yeah, giving a 2-week notice to delist coins that aren't even traded on any other exchange, is as good as telling their customers that they have just lost their entire investment in those coins.
Not the best PR strategy for a company. I wonder which idiot in Poloniex came up with that bright idea.
I've a good mind to start distributing my assets across all the big exchanges now.
Poloniex can go fly a kite.

Hi,

Anyone used a trading bot to trade on poloniex before?

I found these 2:

Any reviews of using the bot?

I keep hearing about these bots in the Poloniex trollbox, seems it's something that is worth checking out more closely.

Anyone else looked into this. It trades with a strategy albeit not your own but at least there is discipline to the trades and it removes emotion trading. Not sure on the success rate though.

How much did you pay to purchase the lending bot?

I came home and logged to the internet, and just managed to see the sudden incredible spikes......but then just as quickly as they came, the prices came crashing down again due to the sudden inexplicable rise in BTC price.
I don't think I can deal with this kind of heart-attack-inducing roller coasters......

Let us know your experience later.
How are the prices (spread, liquidity, etc.) compared to Poloniex?
I don't have the time to research into this.
There's also Kraken and Bitfinex to consider as well.

This is how we achieve mass adoption, this app is perfect for the unbanked, the mpesa users in Africa and millions of Indians facing demonetization nightmare.

You can private message people like WhatsApp, send any  major tokens (testETH for now) to each other, and future intergration with uport, for reputation and identify, which would be used for micro loans. This will uplift people from poverty.

And don't forget it's a dapp browser too, App Store and play store without google and Apple behind it.

I don't think the market has truly grasp what's really going on here.

Plus I've listened to a recording of the Harvard Business School conference, a billionaire has 10% of his net worth in crypto, and he's just one guy.

Sit back and strap in fellas.
*
That sounds somewhat similar to the whitepaper I read on Humaniq, which just recently launched its crowdsale.
Not sure whether theirs is also a messaging app, but anyway, their main objective is bringing banking solutions to the unbanked via the use of a mobile app with biometric identification.
I think they mentioned something about starting a pilot project in India to kick start this technology.

You know what, I am actually thinking to move all my coins away from Poloniex now.
You can never be sure what is going to happen when there is a lawsuit. They might temporarily suspend their services, or worse.
I don't need that kind of risk.

Crypto exchange is unregulated...

Not sure if they can get away with insider trading lawsuit 🤔

Which is why i heed advice some of crypto trading guru like chris dunn, btc kyle, etc to not buy into very low volume traded coin.

Also dont pull all ur eggs into 1 basket. I personally have 7-8 alt coin hedge to btc pairing. So far the method is working eith current bullishness of btc and alt coin.

I can say even 1 or 2 coin i hold lost 1/2 even 1/3 of the value.... wont feel so heartache as 6-7 other coin is making gain to cover it up
*
I'm not really too worried about low trading volume, as long as they can still be traded on another exchange......my biggest concern is the delisting of coins that are not even traded on any other exchange, in which case, those coins are as good as dead.
Luckily I don't have many coins like this......about 0.2BTC worth of altcoins in total, which are traded exclusively on Poloniex only.

Just now bought some ETH.... painful.....  sad.gif

Well, seems it's still all red now, though some have since regained a fraction of their losses.
I still don't understand why anyone would still want to buy those coins that will be delisted soon, especially if they are not going to be able to trade them on any other exchange.
Look at Noblecoin, according to Coingecko, this coin is traded exclusively on Poloniex.
And yet, with only 10 days left before delisting, there's still a buy order book of 35 BTC's worth.
Are these people clinging on to the hope that the coin will be picked up by some other exchange in future?

QUOTE(Ken.B @ Apr 23 2017, 12:02 AM)
Hi guys,
Just to confirm my understanding.
To buy bitcoins or alternative coin like ETH, we would need to buy through an exchange like XBit Asia exchange.
First we must have a bitcoin wallet. There are 2 types of wallet, a personal one (android, apple, desktop) and one provided by the exchange.
Currencies stored in personal wallet is relatively safe as the wallet provided by the exchange can go bust anytime. In this wallet, we can put both USD and BTC/ETH.
To buy alternative coins, we first have to buy BTC with USD, then use the BTC to buy ETH.
Am i understanding this correctly?
*
Hi Ken,
If you're from Malaysia, you don't need to buy BTC using USD, you can buy directly with MYR.
And yes, in Malaysia, you'll basically have to buy BTC first, then go to an online exchange to trade it to other cryptocurrency, like ETH, XMR, etc.
The exchanges will provide you with a wallet for trading purposes, but not recommended to store your long-term investments there, so you will need your own wallet. You can use the online types that you mentioned, but it is better to have a hardware wallet like Trezor or Ledger, which is basically a small USB-like device that you use to store your coins. Since it is not connected to the internet, it is inherently much more secure.

You mean you want to sell bitcoin and withdraw in MYR?
For this, I prefer using an online exchange like XBit Asia or Luno.
You can sell your bitcoin there, and withdraw the funds into your Malaysian bank account in MYR.

Beautiful rally of both LTC and DCR...... rclxms.gif
My LTC is already at 80% profit and reached my original target price of USD 17...... I probably should unload some to cash in my profits, then diversify into another altcoin.

Wow I just noticed that there is a 98 BTC buy wall on Belacoin.
Somebody obviously thinks this coin is going to go places.
What's with this coin anyway?
Haven't done any research on it.

Nice nice. So fast unloading?
I've been waiting for ages and it doesn't want to come down. There is a possibility that it will drop it bitfinex can sort out their USD withdrawal problem. However, it seems unlikely at the moment.
Belacam was apparently a disappointment but that was I think like a week ago. Developer did apparently correct the problem but I didn't follow what happened after that.
*
I have been cashing out a portion of my LTC holding, just so I can buy some other alts.
Guess I will have to do some reading on Belacoin.

Which alts are you targeting?
Damn, I bought Ark, Pivx, waves and bay at Bittrex yesterday. Looks like I'm a day too early. Today deep red for pivx and ark.  mad.gif I'm bought them hoping that these coins will get listed on Polo one day. How did I choose? I just did a biiiiit of research and chose the top volume coin. Crazy huh?  biggrin.gif
For those who don't know me, kindly don't follow my picks. I'm the crazy guy with over 40 types of coins.....  rclxub.gif
DCR breaking out!  thumbup.gif Apparently an impressive interview on DCR and 1.0.0 going to roll out tomorrow. Whatever that means.  laugh.gif
*
As I didn't have the time to do much research, I finally resorted to the good old fashioned way of following my gut feeling.
I reasoned that mobile gaming will become bigger and bigger in future, so I dabbled a little in Gamecredits.
DCR has finally returned me a profit after being in the red for a while......phew!
Although I am still clueless about the exact real cause behind its sudden spike.

I see. I also bought Gamecredits quite late. Only up 20-30% at the moment. It's was slowly going up but plateauing at the moment.

So are you going for the mobilego crowd sale? I don't know how it works but I think I will buy in some. Looks promising.

Relatively boring day. Seems like not much pumping after the delisting fiasco.

Lol! What's up with the buy wall on bela?  rclxub.gif
*
It dropped a bit from its peak and now the drop has plateaued somewhat so I figured it is OK to go in.
I don't think I will join the crowdsale on Mobilego, since I do not really understand it even after reading the whitepaper.
But I do agree that online mobile gaming is already a huge industry now, and in future, it will only get bigger.
Having a universal gaming credit system like Gamecredits (if it takes off and achieves global acceptance with all the game companies) will definitely be a hit.

I just don't know what exactly does Belacoin contribute to the scene.
Are there some groundbreaking stuff happening there, or perhaps there is some development about to be released?
I look at the charts and this coin has been relatively quiet for most of the past 3 years, only starting to record growth since last July, and has been climbing steadily up ever since.
In fact, at the height of the spike in 2 weeks ago, it was worth over 150 times its value compared to last July.
That's 150 times......not 150%.
There must be something about this coin...... hmm.gif

Another coin that I am very interested in, is LBRY Credits (LBC).
It has an actual real-world use case (although to be honest, some other altcoin can also do that) and the price has dropped tremendously since last year, and on a long-term scale, it is still very much at the bottom, and just starting to move upwards.
I have a bit of it at the moment, but I think I might start to load up a little bit more.
Who knows what the future holds.

Also check out mobile go and tokencard crowdsales too, good flipping opportunity as well.

To be honest, when I look at all those historical charts and how so many coins lost 99% of their initial value within the first few days of launching......I don't have the confidence of flipping.
All the best to you guys, though!

Game credits just shot up! Is it because of mobilego crowdsale? I just bought in a bit even though my initial buy in is still not 200% yet. Follow the bullrun!  biggrin.gif Hope it doesn't fall flat.

Finally REP is moving. Thought it was a dead coin too......
*
Wanted to buy more gamecredits but no more money.

Augur is moving partly because the Gnosis ICO has generated a lot of interest for the prediction application, but with the Gnosis development team controlling 95% of the total tokens, I believe those who were left out of the 5% had to dump their money into Augur, to ensure that they get a slice of the prediction pie.
