YA. True. Another point is 3rd party softwares. Not every kinds of software do support in linux or mac os or whatever OS. It's like limited softwares once you're in other OS instead of windose.

OT~ I just find out that US DOT ban vista or whatever latest products of microsoft Read it yourself..

i think this is m$ own fault for provinding oems with only 1 key. now they cant even difference the ori and fake.

Given the period of these hackers took for cracking vista, you can get a legitimate vista if you work at tesco or petronas.

If everyone have to use Linux or other free OS.. like now most of us use M$ sure Linux or other free software will start to make profit.. then again hope hacker start working again

piracy will go on.... no matter how much they try to stop.....
yes, maybe reduce by a little....
still hackers are as smarts as MS programmers....
this is a never ending war....

and you do know even Malaysia has crack downs on software piracy? major business companies can`t afford to have even one computer with a illegal windows installed for their business may ruin

so in the end, m$ will not fall, uncle bill will get richer and richer.. and everyone`s happy right?

no lah, home users can also go for original if they have the money... unlike ... ( i dunno ) any support original lah, theres a chance M$ can counter this crack and those with pirated version can`t get support and updates..

there will be chance.. but not so soon. if you read properly abt the crack made by paradox, by BIOS emulation, there is no way a.t.m. that M$ can differentiate your Vista is a cracked version, either your comp is a cloned PC or made by large manufacturers.

pirated version not to get support and updates? but before that, they will need to differentiate original copy with cracked/pirated copy. and for that, read the paragraph below...

the computer i use is 5 years old already. vista is not really important upgrade for me. so with pirated copy, i could try it out and see whether i want to buy it or not in future. dont say pirated is bad for the industry. it provide trial version to people with lower income. btw, people with lower income also need to keep with technology or else they could not perform in their job which result getting fired. what else could they do in order to stay in job. buy pirated copy and learn from it. asking their company send them for training is hard to get approved. everyday also got news about robbery in the newspaper, when will it end? it never end. same goes for Windows.

Microsoft always say products will never be hacked, they also say this is the most secure version of windows "yet" you know why? because they gather up all the hacks/exploits on the previous operating system and patch them up in this operating system.

They're gonna do this every windows release until every hack in the world has been tested on windows, therefor every hack that is bought out is just being patched by microsoft in the next operating system, so these hackers are writing microsofts future by them selfs, seriously if you think about it, if microsoft really wanted to bring the hackers down out there, they would do, they're not that hard to find.

Field support?? Err...not on ur dreams. OEM got no field support. You are to refer to ur OEM installer. If u buy new PC it's ok-ler, can call DELL, HP or whoever. Even then i don't think there's field support, only for certain models and servers only.

If u buy OEM package from LYP...there's no one to call but yourself.

How bout those online field support directly with Microsoft technical?

i think those are not FIELD support...those are ONLINE support...

FIELD means that they come to your place to service...

Okay good , I am using this and voila legit Vista..I am happy , I think M$ shouldnt be supported as they have $$$$$. Simple policy, I am an average Joe and I cannot pay RM 800 for a POS bloated OS. So Instead I go and buy cetak rompak version and emulate an OEM BIOS = RM 10 . Thats like how many % of savings over the original Vista and it feels like the real thing

For a buggy POS [ aka OSX rip-off system] , I am not going to pay a single cent for M$ OSes [unless it comes with my PC , then yeah sure...Other then that no...]. Unless , someone could buy it for me , then I will support them


AFAIK , M$ can't do anything. If they come up with somekind of counter-measurement check , It Affected OEM Users will have a problem now as said by a former. Imagine , M$ , and <Insert an OEM Vendor here> has to attend to 1000000000 of calls , because of the new measurement . For me if you truly ask, I dont mind paying $200-300 for a Linux Distro , or support ubuntu.

Ubuntu + Beryl = Kicks Vista Ass [ even with a Radeon 9200 , you can get all those cool Flip 3d effects ....]

I am just telling you , there is no point adding RM 800-1000 to a company that gets ? amount of $$$ from major Crop. and stuff like that. Instead use the money to give it to tabung-tabunglah my friend , at least you will have some satisfaction !
