Getting Started

|
From the article: "A genuine crack for Windows Vista has just been released by pirate group Pantheon (this is wrong, it's Paradox) which allows a pirated, non-activated installation of Vista (Home Basic/Premium and Ultimate) to be properly activated and made fully-operational." apcmag.comParadox groupAlso called 'OEM BIOS Emulation Toolkit For Microsoft Windows Vista X86'. Just read this news few hour ago. Pity MS, this is how secure Bill said about Vista. More News QUOTE The Paradox team has done it again! They have devised a way to activate Windows Vista using a very simple concept. Microsoft decided to issue certain mass-activation serial numbers for large manufacturers such as Asus and HP. Multiple computers made by these manufacturers can have the same serial, provided that OEM certificates match and certain BIOS information corresponds to their machines.
Why is this stupid on Microsoft's part? The Paradox team has made BIOS emulation drivers for Asus, HP, and other manufacturers. In addition, adding OEM information to your system is extremely easy. By installing certificates and the emulation driver, anybody can enter any mass-activation serial # and automatically have a 100% geniune system. There's literally nothing Microsoft can do now. Anything they try to do would also ultimately affect people who legally purchased Vista. There's nothing left to differentiate illegal from legal systems. Love the funky midis they play in their 'programs' And by security I think Bill Gates was referring to those viruses and trojans. They actually don't mind the software getting cracked as long as they maintain market share. This post has been edited by seveneleven: Mar 5 2007, 08:14 AM

Discuss on the: - Ethical issues - Effort of the warez team vs Microsoft - etc
Not on - Where to get the crack - Whether or not you are using it

I guess now, Gates kind of *drop glasses* !

Not only this.. I came across a site which claimed they cracked vista activation by a simple VB code that generate a string of key to activate Vista (much like password finder keygen).

actually human are not perfect therefore anything they create also not perfect. no matter how microsoft protect their Windows from pirates it is useless due to they are human. whatever they do is not perfect.
unless they going for smartcard device where windows original come with it and non original doesnt have it. everytime need to use smart card to run windows. just like the astro decoder. however this is still not perfect since they are fake smartcards around for astro decoder as well.
maybe new generation of human has implant a computer chip and the computer chip stores whether you purchase windows or not. therefore if u did not, you use the computer with windows, they will prompt you to activate your implant chip b4 using windows.

its only the time's issue before Vista will be ultimately cracked. Remember how easy it is now to crack in WinXP? There's no point anymore if one boast that he/she is using genuine MS product sooner or later. Regarding the timer patch, the latest revision is quite hard to circumvent from softpedia QUOTE The true question here is how will Microsoft detect copies of Windows Vista activated via the 2099 crack, if the TimerStop driver is installed with a random name, the crack reinstates the operating system's date and the user is not required to enter a product key?

MS will not have much of a loss. Why? Because they aren't profiting much either. Not many people are Highly Eager to receive Vista as they used to when Windows 95 was introduced. If a large crowd is not expected, surely profit is not high. If profit is not high, how bad the losses be? Cheers!
