After done this RM8,111, the performance as power as new unit ? different a lot compare to 10 years old engine ?
May i know where you did this ? This consider overhaul right ?

I done half cut engine + change some parts/hose for 1.5cc around rm9k-10k in 2017. Include brakepad, other fluid as well. No idea what they did, they just write "half cut engine + services".

I would think since it is not all new, the power could be somewhat less compared to a run in new engine where everything is working properly. However, if given a choice to overhaul or half cut, I would do overhaul as I know which parts are changed and could last in the longer run. In half cut, we do not know what is the history of the parts in the half cut engine, whether they are on the way out or newly replaced etc etc. Just my 2 sen.

Still used as daily driver. Yesterday my alarm and central locking kaput. not sure what happened. Now look like Axia E.
(updates 20200109) problem fixed. 15A D/L fuse in driver side kick panel blow already. Replaced and now working fine rclxm9.gif

Recently went on a trip to Penang and came back fully loaded with humans and sea water in 3 x 10 litre plastic bottles, 3 x 5 litre plastic bottles, 3 x 1.25 litre plastic bottles. Really heavy so drive slow. I think I overloaded it so no choice but to drive very slowly. Max was I think 80km/h

My avanza for daily. Mileage now 135k km. Recently got funny noise like from lower arm. Also vibration getting worst. Stationary ok means engine mount ok. Only when on the move vibration can feel, anyway saw some crack on the bush of lower arm.

Should I change entire arm or just the bush and ball joint and reuse the arm? If change entire arm do I go OEM or Toyota. Also looking to change water pump and belt too. Rear 2 tyres coming too. Die, easily rm1k.

Anyone change starter or service it? Better to service or change it?

chg bush only not worth it as the each arm got 3 bush, the price also not much cheaper than the arm.
chg the whole arm is better imo. much less work and possible less charge for labour too, chg bush also more leceh for the foreman also.

i think so my lower arm & absorber have noise few years ago, Toyota say not important, no any harm/danger, just driving experience feel not comfortable. So I just ignore about it until now, still can easily drive 130-150km/h no problem but in city seldom have chance to drive so fast. Almost 200k km.

I agree too. Faster to replace cheaper labor.

I run pretty fast, so I feel safer replacing the arm. The vibration irritates me, now steering feeling a bit. Then go over bumps or uneven roads feeling bad. Cornering not as sharp n in control.

Will get mechanic to look at the engine mount too. This morning I check the left and right mount ok, not sure the rear ok or not.

Workshop quoted me Ori water pump RM325 and belt RM88, parts only. I seen online AISIN water pump like rm80. Just wondering why so much difference. I am going for Ori water pump, critical component don't want to risk it.

Lower arm ori RM500+ 1 side, crazy. workshop say can try to use OEM which is much cheaper. Any recommendation OEM brand for lower arm.

Perhaps you can try to buy the part in spare part shop and goto shop for labour only? Maybe cheaper.

I know why the water pump original expensive, cause components stainless steel. Those OEM is like nickel coated so will rust.

See this seller show the difference, he selling both types.
Water pump Ori and OEM

I tend to agree with you to use original but if time is on your side, by buying online, you are saving RM50 already for the pump alone. If you trust your mechanic, then you can leave everything to them, else, please standby to watch what goes into your car.

Car front brake driver side got sound when braking (can feel vibration like metal rubbing metal from brake pedal but passenger hardly notice the sound), sometimes sound louder especially during low speed. Brake still working like normal, car only 95000km manual transmission and still under warranty. Send back SC or any advice/opinion? Thanks guys

under normal operation, no vibrate. Maybe the brake disc is warped due to overheated (sometimes, coming down from the highlands can cause this to happen).

Bro if u take out Ori Pump you will see Aisin tag on it. Aisin makes Avanza pump. NPW is also good. Lazada KK Automoto sells it at RM95. TRUSTED SELLER. can change the thermostat together use the Perodua one.

For lower arm you can go for 555 Made in Japan. Quality is close to Ori, RM270 X 2 compared to Ori RM430 X 2. Can buy in ST AUTO Jalan Ipoh.

Now i using economic Brembo, rm2xx almost same price as original if not mistaken.
But mine car every morning when cold weather the brake very noisy, warm up for few km then no noise already. Mechanic say is normal becuase brakepad wet with water vapor early morning.

So i went to SC and they recommend to change the brake pad so i did. The sound gone DURING brake and i found that the 4 pcs old brake pad they returned to me, 3 pcs still have more than 50% and 1 pcs is less than 5% which is the sound maker. Now the problem is, why is there such uneven wear? I suspect there is brake drag (pads doesn't return fully after release brake) on one side, because i felt that there is still sounds sometime AFTER i start moving without pressing the brake. Will continue inspecting again tomorrow.

Thanks.
