Hi guys, how long did u guys go sc for service? I wonder if it is still worth it to go sc as my car still have nearly 2 years warranty (3 years age mt 1.3 2016). Driving about 3000-4000km a month and mileage now around 85k. So far only change battery and 2 tires.

Currently using 5w40 fully toyota oil, thinking to go 5w30 shell/liqui moly if service outside. It cost ~400 if go sc every 10k and ~800 every 40k major. Advice?

Car front brake driver side got sound when braking (can feel vibration like metal rubbing metal from brake pedal but passenger hardly notice the sound), sometimes sound louder especially during low speed. Brake still working like normal, car only 95000km manual transmission and still under warranty. Send back SC or any advice/opinion? Thanks guys

few years ago, same goes to my brake have abnormal annoying sound, after change other brand brakepad settled. The mechanic say ori brakepad lousy one, very noisy and heat not as good as other brand too.
Now i using economic Brembo, rm2xx almost same price as original if not mistaken.
But mine car every morning when cold weather the brake very noisy, warm up for few km then no noise already. Mechanic say is normal becuase brakepad wet with water vapor early morning.
*
So i went to SC and they recommend to change the brake pad so i did. The sound gone DURING brake and i found that the 4 pcs old brake pad they returned to me, 3 pcs still have more than 50% and 1 pcs is less than 5% which is the sound maker. Now the problem is, why is there such uneven wear? I suspect there is brake drag (pads doesn't return fully after release brake) on one side, because i felt that there is still sounds sometime AFTER i start moving without pressing the brake. Will continue inspecting again tomorrow.

Thanks.

Possible the brake piston stucked, need to fully service it else the problem will return.
*
What mean full service? Is major service every 40000km at SC (change brake fluid) sufficient or need to do additional brake full service outside?

If you say your brakepad uneven, check your rotor brake disc even or not. Or your brakepad quality problem. Or your wheel alignment.
3 of these issues to cause the brakepad finish uneven.

Thanks, i noticed that my alignment ran a little, atm no more sound after release brake but not sure dragging or not.

Done my 100k service at SC today but surprised they didn't change spark plug for me. Is it necessary to change it myself? What model to look for if im gonna buy in shopee for avanza 2016 1.3 mt?

Also saw many replace ecopia (mine is ep150 14") tires with dunlop j5, which one is better considering price / fc / safety? Have to go rocky roads sometime so i hope it is not soft tires like continental

The moment sensing my 2005 Avanza fuel consumption increases from 12.x km/L to 9.x km/L , I replace my cheapo RM12@ spark plug at 60000 - 70000 km usage with a gap width of 3 mm .

New spark plugs set doesn't help at all .

Went back to mechanic checking with computer software , identify and replace old original (293K km) O2 sensor with non-Perodua O2 sensor , consumption returns back to normal like before .

Hence, IMO you need not change it until and unless you can detect/measure huge increase in fuel consumption .Yes, that is not in compliance with OEM recommendation .

Note:The over-long usage (vs recommended 20K something km ?) cheapo spark plug set at 3 mm gap width could still deliver good fuel consumption at 12.x km/L until O2 sensor goes kaput in my Avanza . Whilst engine starting and acceleration pick up etc were normal and in good shape .
*
My acceleration / pick up not as good recently so i decided to buy new set of spark plug at my local sparepart store, but damn they gave me incompatible spark plug for avanza 2016 and no iridium one available. Looking online only one available https://shopee.com.my/product/21598223/1821633751?smtt=0.0.9 and cost rm270 which is even more expensive than toyota sc.

I'm doubtful your 2016 has spark plug set and O2 sensor problem .
However, you may want to check the electrical distributor cable/holder thing IMO .

Thanks, will check. Usually my car will feel powerful after oil change, but this time after oil change like no power also, sigh.

I use michelin xm2 for many years already, performance  rclxms.gif  fuel consumption  rclxms.gif  drive fast during raining  rclxms.gif drive smoothly over water area, not skidding or buang

Xm2 definitely best but cost rm300 in my city lol, Bridgestone ep150 rm200, and haven't ask about dunlop j5 yet...

wait, if u still stock size, 185/65/r15 , 300 for xm2 is very overprize tbh. i think can get like 200 or even lower if around here.
*
Mine is 185/70r14 for 1.3 engine, all tryes are much more expensive in sarawak here

Do u guys service aircon if still cold? Some ppl told me if don't service now until broken have to replace cooling coil etc will cost much more. Some ppl told me don't touch aircon if still cold, often after service aircon no problem will become problem. Mine already 100k 3+ years without service and don't even have cabin filter.
