Don't quite follow articles like this as it's never paints the correct picture. Price to book valuation? Lol. Who on earth really uses such a yardstick?

Look if you had followed some postings made by smurf or me, we had note for a long while that earnings in general had been piss poor.

That's the fact. When your main/big name stocks are experiencing declining earnings, you cannot expect the general market to be moving up. Many logically would have cashed out.

Price to Book is used for bank valuations, not really good for other stocks.

I cashed out last year already, but started to come slowly in this year, first Reit, then utilities (Tenaga n Malakof), then bank (Maybank), and then OnG (Velesto n Hibiscus).. Boleh?

Not a fan at all of Maybank.

It's like taking big money to try make small money. : P

I know.. 😆

But for Noob like me, it's a lower risk entry on contrarian expectations that thing may get better at end of the year and up to mid next year.

With PB ratio of 1.2+, Maybank is trading at 3Q16 valuations. My estimate was downside is limited at this level n this will be further mitigated by dividends. So I went in. At current price n with the last interim dividend, I'm still about breakeven in this investment. So now just wait.

That's my thought process lar.. 😆

Just wanna say that current market sentiments is not good to being an active trader.

It's much better (imo) at this moment to play with a slightly longer time frame target (for example .. maybe at this time, you might want to use a strategy that allows you to speculate a stock that might reward you for the coming CNY)

cool2.gif

( did not follow the 2 stocks you mentioned. )

Ok. U have a stock trading at around 12 half sen.

Price 'seems' to be hanging around that range for a while.

If for me, I would ask, why so 'low'?

First thing first, always, the profit performance.
what do I see?
Bpuri profit record is terrible.
Which explains why the 'seemingly' low price.

Yeah, in 2011, the share traded above rm1.
But with profit declining into losses, it's no wonder the stock is trading so low.

Ok. What's the catalyst?
Profits. Profits must improve. Without profit improving, you not going to seduce investors.

Seemed that it's being pressed down.
First peep, I see it has a Rights issue.
It's going ex sometime this month too,

You get one free rights share (which you need to pay 9 sen for it).
And then you get one free warrant.

Once the share goes ex, the stock price will be adjusted to account for the rights issue.
And yes, one get a free warrant.

Will some gang play up the stock? rolleyes.gif
I dunno. rolleyes.gif

Personally I have no skills to play such game.
So I pass.

Good luck anyway,

What about L&G. The fundamentals seem to be alright, good in fact. But the price seems to be lingering at the low few sens level for quite a while.

Haha. Tq. I just haven't been around and yeah, I was rather disappointed not to see any traders blow some water here.

So what kind of trader are you (if I may ask)?

Why chop 2 and not 3?

Anyway..

I think for JAKS, hold until the both power plant starts commercial operation.

Whereas for TGUAN, there's a high chance it will be able to at least maintain it's latest quarter revenue and profit. There's revenue growth and raw material still low. It also used to be valued at higher PE than currently it is now.

For Coastal, profit is okay but the cash flow damn good. And also higher demand for vessels will translate into higher utilisation rate and higher charter rate.

KKB, very good growth, cash flow considered good for a fast growing company.. but didn't study much on this cos many business segments..

So how?

Why? Cos I am not making the decision for you. tongue.gif

Look. You have one in the manufacturing business while the rest relies more on contractual businesses. So logically, if you do not want to go heavy in one direction...........
