Wow since ytd my connection keeps dropping (connected to wifi but every few mins internet stops working), I called unifi and today a "technician" came down. He didn't even test anything nor see the router he immediately told me to buy a new router from TM which costs RM253.

I got my connection not even 2 years ago, kinda stupid to buy such an overpriced router. Gonna buy an external router and test.

what do you mean by that ? hmm.gif

Yes, I got the same issue as you yesterday. DOTA2 got timeout in-game, suspect it is Unifi issue because this never happen before

I have waited 6 years for unifi/fibre to be at my area and it still has not arrived.
currently using 1mb internet. Cannot upgrade to 2mb,4mb or 8mb streamyx aswel
Called TM, they say no port and the nearest port is far away.
Staying in sunway,no unifi but housing area opposite my housing area got.

No choice but other options. Subscribe to Digi Infinite 150, RM 150 for a month and unlimited data, can tether data. Buy a 4G router or MiFi or mobile phone and hotspot from it.

Like I mentioned, since fixed broadband is not an option for you, go for wireless broadband. smile.gif
I'm sure it is faster than your 1Mbps. smile.gif What's more when it offers unlimited data now, it is like portable "wired" broadband.

option 1, rent house at place cover with unifi/TIME and rental your current house.

option 2, sell that house move to new house.

option 3, use wireless broadband

option 4, lay fiber cable to next phase that have unifi. rclxs0.gif

yeah brah. been looking at the new digi unlimited data as recommended by you.

I am using maxis 4g to hotspot to my pc but sadly got quota. download games also scared. watch youtube also sometimes scared.

If this digi is really unlimited data and also same speed as unifi, i might consider in getting it

Speed is relative. When connection is good, wireless broadband can be even better than unifi, but the big benefit of fibre is how the connectivity doesn't depend so much on weather or localized congestion. Also ping (if you game) typically worse.

That said, in exchange you get to use your connection anywhere vs just in one property. Bring it to your office (if no-one is at home during the day), bring it travelling, etc. Most of us have unifi at home and still pay for some amount of data on our phones anyway. That's savings right there.
