This is true from my observation as well. What S'porean consider as ulu, is actually sap sap sui in terms of travel journey for us M'sian. Just get a motorbike. COE for motor is still acceptable. But those ulu/remote places you mentioned, all are manufacturing - biomedical, chemical, pharma, construction, OnG refinery, F&B, etc...

i already receive a new principal EP approval from MOM for my new company and already tender my resignation from my current company (ep holder in current company)

will undergo the usual xray / health screening (have not done so yet)
but now HENG / Luck got another company offer even higher salary...

well I done all those SingPass sign-up and etc. To date, not receive anything from company or them after validating my sms notification

Yes, that is the prevailing view but even with the demotion compensation goes up. Hard to compare when even junior professionals in top tier banking and buyside roles in SG make north of RM50-60k/m all-in. I started in Msia but I would say that there are very few "good" buy side seats for fresh grads and these pay comfortably above what local IBs pay, pm me if you want names--i prefer to stay somewhat anonymous.

I'm really curious, are there that many Top 10 uni grads in Malaysia that getting a position in IB is that hard?
I understand that for the US, or maybe SG, but didn't expect that for MY

Or is it that they value other things like internships rather than degrees?

Or maybe there are very few openings

Edit: I just thought of the obvious, or is it that they mostly hire from people with experience in other lines of banking rather than fresh grads?

Hey guys need some advice.

Fresh graduate and now search auditor jobs in Sg.

Apply 60+ in jobsdb, jobstreet etc since 3 weeks ago....get 1 offer from local accounting small firm, another reply yesterday asking for additional supporting documents...

All jobs in jobsdb said "not suitable"....going to sg on mid May, originally easy for physical interview but get offer before that...

Should i just accept this job first? scared that I won't get any interview invitation once I reject this offer

Feels like jumping till my roof collapse when my boss in Singapore told me she's the one who will be interviewing me with her colleague.

I'm driving a Japanese car at the moment. Thinking of switching over to a continental. (Everyone can think right?) Will do a calculation one of these days.

Yeap, same....prefer that way actually, able to save up all my salary in Malaysia and every expenses in Singapore is covered with extra, but company want me to transfer here 

yeap, luckily the offer is slightly more than 1:1 of my Malaysia salary.
Much better opportunity as my task is project based, so if I finish my singapore project I might not able come here if there is no other project require me. and Singapore Team is mainly working on international project so it's not only within asia but includes europe and others.

hi guys, i had get an offer of recruitment company IT job work as desk engineer at SG.

is that a good choice to do it?

a typical working class foreigner in singapore: live in a small HDB room, go to work every morning having to beat the morning rush with cramped buses and trains, work is typically more stressful as employers tend to expect more from you (competition is also pretty stiff there as there is always other foreigners that are willing to do the same job with higher qualifications and lower pay), after work you will usually be so tired you just want to go home and take a nap.

during weekends, malls are always very crowded with people, and it gets boring especially when you come to realize that malls in singapore are more or less the same (you see the same selection of shops in almost every mall that you patronize). if you are lucky with a couple of friends you can probably hang out doing something meaningful like going to the beach, cycling etc, but that doesn't happen every week. On some weeks you may probably end up alone as you don't have a family to go back to. Eateries are aplenty in singapore and you can probably get by if you are not that fussy about food.

also, one common sight in singapore is that you typically see the elders working as cleaners or clearing tables at food court and cannot help but to feel sorry towards them and feel depressed after. apparently this is one of the govt's initiatives to get the elders to work to make them feel 'occupied' as they normally have too much free time.

Singapore maybe perfect for you but to some it is not. Vice versa to those who think the same of Malaysia
