That's why you don't give them your current salary $$$ , payslip etc smile.gif, just let them know your expected salary.
*
I become mad when you remind me this. Initially i don't want to disclose my current pay, they ask why and the hiring manager must know,

i told them "i dont want the employer pay me based on my current salary, i want they pay me based on market rate"....

then the recruiter told me "no no no, they wont pay you according to your salary, they will pay to according to market rate, the employer is xxx, MNC, earned billions last year... ",

at the end, i disclosed it to them because i am desperate due to my pay is very very low (no increment since i joined 3 years ago, but i love my current job very very much, i learned a lot, my boss trust me very much, give me a lot of opportunity to travel for project implementation, my dept don't have any politic issue, all trust each others), just try to use that offer letter to show my current employer (i know it is hard because the current oil price).

so after few days, the recruiter tell me that the employer only accept 10% increase salary from candidate for this position.... ranting.gif

is the recruiter lied? or employer lied to recruiter? i dunno

at last, there is no interview also from the employer... yawn.gif

Normally I ask their budget and jd first,if ok then only i start giving details haha
*
1 years ++ ago, I did last time to a well known MNC too, the budget almost x2 to my current pay, then expected salary i put slightly lower than budget. At the end still can't manage to second interview,
maybe i am not good due to only 2 years exp last time,
or maybe got ppl who put lower expected salary than me,
or they definitely better than me/more experienced than me,
or i still holding EP last time (but now PR)

Just received my PR approval letter from ICA after 6 months of waiting rclxm9.gif  rclxm9.gif

other than medical checkup report, is anything that i should take note before i attend the appointment to complete the formalities?
*
Congrats, you need to submit Medishieldlife form to CPF via mailing. Then you have to wait their ACK letter send to you via mailing. You must have the letter before your formalities, so the appointment date must including the waiting time of this process, don't book too early.

The health declaration can be done online at CPF website. Just print the acknowledgement letter out.

If send via mailing it will take very long time.

rclxms.gif great, during my time there is no online services for this part vmad.gif

think it's always that line 'hard to get approval' but one will still hear stories of ppl getting it nonetheless.

i think it depends on what u want in the end, do u want a lifestyle with the earning power or a different lifestyle but less stressful? personally i enjoyed every bit of sg, ppl are competitive but that in turn is a motivation and here in another region of the world is anything but. even though sg is stressful, i made wonderful friends, i enjoyed my lifestyle even though its just mrt/bus occasional uber/cab compared to driving. but i quickly got used to not having to be stuck in a jam already.

so boils down to what u want and ur priority now. console.gif
*
Same with you, enjoyed every single stuff from here, Bus/MRT is better than jam in KL, even train fault is better than crazy traffic jam in KL that need 2hrs from cheras to city. Work wise, i found SG is definitely better, if you work in good company and work with good team/boss.

I can afford to buy house with CPF, not like KL, the property price is killing. I dont mind living in small house, since i grow up in spacious house with big gardens/ponds and a lot of animals such as horse, monkey, ducks, gooses, dogs, chickens, lizards..and other wildlife. I found that big house is highly required maid for house cleaning everyday (Imagine you and wife live in a big house, will you clean your house for hours after work?). I found that small flat is very suitable for me since it very easy/fast to clean.

Not to mention of spending power, safety, infrastructure, fast pace culture and multi race culture, which suit me very well because i am the person who like to learn, interact with people over the world, make new friends, travelling because of currency/business trip (MNC).

1.4mpd, but problem is the rounding, cos you only get blocks of 7miles for every $5 (you get 0 for $4.95 spend). For big transactions UOB wins, for small ones Citi PM wins, I call it a draw haha. So i still prefer Citi cos they have more dining deals, got citi $100 gourmet, got more 8-10mpd promos with agoda/etc, 15% discount promo with expedia, etc etc.

But that’s a discussion for a different thread ba, the point we both agree on is that mileage credit cards = Best 👍🏻
*
Please note that UOB UNI$ will expire after 2 years. But still, i will use Priv Miles for travelling, PPV for dining/fairprice (paywave).

Pay medishiled within the deadline...
CPF deduction only 5% for new PR...
*
I refuse to pay at the deadline... then i force my CPF deduction to 20%, after 2 months the medishield paid by medisave account, then my wife turn to receive the letter for asking pay medishield(because she start with 5%), i still dont want to pay cash for it, i just sign up the "Supporting switch of payment to other family members’ Medisave accounts " ..so yeah, at the end i am avoided to pay cash as cash is important to me now.. rclxm9.gif

S$3k may be "pitiful" for you, but lots of people are earning less and have kids.
*
For local(Singaporean only) still can survive, first of all they can live in parent house without paying the fucking rental. Second, they have a lot of benefits such as baby bonus, medical, tuition fee cheaper and etc..

For foreigner, 3k is definitely not enough to raise kids in Singapore, unless you put your kids in Malaysia and take care by your parents. I have a lot of friends earning 4k++ still willing to travel from JB daily...and put their parents, babies in JB to sustain the life without "pitful", at the end only one person "pitful" who is the breadwinner.

Are you sure ALL or most Singaporeans earning $3K or less staying with parents and no need to pay rental?
*
QUOTE(KilJim @ Oct 27 2017, 02:02 PM)
No where in his post did he mention that all Singaporeans earning 3K are doing that

Can you help us understand how a foreigner can have a great life with $3K supporting a wife and child by breaking down the 3K into expenses?
Would be interesting to see
*
Correct, i never mention ALL/most of Singaporeans...what i want to express is, first thing first you have to be Singaporean..

If a singaporean small family (household income is 3k), 3 ppl, dad +mom + baby, you teach me, how they can make their life not "pitful"?

any malay name cert is not advisable.

if u need to choose, go MMU better.
*
I found that no matter you graduate from UTAR, TARC, MMU, and etc... , it is same in career, all my colleague graduate from TARC, still able to do a good job, same salary with MMU graduates, and the most important is - study fee is cheaper than MMU. I am MMU student, and now stuck by PTPTN 40k ++ loan, only afford to pay monthly repayment, all my colleague who graduate from TARC, already settled PTPTN by one shot payment 10k++, i regret that why i choose MMU for my degree study?? bangwall.gif bangwall.gif bangwall.gif bangwall.gif bangwall.gif

Regarding PR, my colleague (TARC) and me (MMU) also get PR, i believe your job and industry matter when come to PR.

Below 30, 24 come SG, 27 got PR, 28 apply citizenship , last yr 29 successful convert, this yr step into 30's

Single Loh, I clearly know myself will not and would not ever want to goback Malaysia to work, reason that SG currency and the environment suit me more, better convert now than later
That's no useless cert

Useless ppl , yes
*
Bro, i also planning to apply SC, now i am worrying about PTPTN, do you still own PTPTN money during renouncement of Malaysia citizenship? Will Malaysia allow us to renounce Malaysia citizenship if you still holding PTPTN loan? (i will still paying the LOAN after become SC)

2 years of your life “wasted” lo.
after graduating from NS and join workforce, all your female peers all already got 2 year head start on their careers.

Ya, i found that female'salary in SG is extreme high than male, especially those female who study part time degree and join the workforce immediately after high school, 20-22 years old. At the meantime, me, start my first job in SG (although have 3 years experience) with fresh graduate salary, those girls already earning 3.5-5k per month already, and they are same age with me and even younger than me cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif
