reason is i felt like getting bullied by the manager, throwing every work to me. 4pm passed up 80+ invoices ask me to key in, no key in finish cannot leave. on first day they ask me to issue a cheque, i printed out upsidedown and told her i printed out wrong.. she direct tell me "if u dont think this job not suitable for u, u can just leave". so i left the company.

no OT pay. they replace OT pay to OT meal + taxi fare but only can claim if u work until 9PM.
what do you think?

I found out the first 2 years rate are reduced.
Y1 - Employee 5%, Employer 4%
Y2 - Employee 15%, Employer 9%
Y3++ - Employee 20%, Employer 17%

Hi guys, been a silent forumer all along. My EP application just got rejected recently and the employer is currently filing for an appeal. Not sure about the success rate tho,  however if I had secured another interview, can the new employer submit another EP application for me with the current appeal in progress?

Did my Masters in a top French Business school here
Then on EP with annual 45k in a digital/accelerator startup (non-sales/biz dev/all in one role).

Stayed in this company 1yr1 month before getting an offer from a competitor.
Gonna start new company next month, age 27 this year.
Annual- base 80k + variable bonus 12-24k

But my PR got approved while I was still in this first company/with the lower package la

I know that business school. Very expensive

It’s ‘one of the top’ French business schools, so not INSEAD, and not an MBA either as I was only 24/25 when I did the Masters degree.

Would have been impossible to enter INSEAD with their almost-perfect GMAT requirement and with the hotel management degree that I was holding back then from good old Taylor’s uni haha...

But yeah looking back, it’s been quite a nice journey...
Edit: Not sure if this made any difference in my PR outcome, I actually first came to Singapore in 2014 to do an internship as a waiter in a hotel (because of my hotel management degree) on a work permit but I didn’t really liked SG back then, so I left even before the 6-month contract was due

Thanks man. I think a lot plays down to luck also. Never thought that I’ll be in the digital advertising line from the beginning. And coincidentally my current and future company regard themselves as ‘eternal enemies’, so that helped me a bit in negotiating the package too
Maybe but not too different, unless when i start getting 6 digits a month, then that would quite different hahaha

My office is on Orchard road, even an average food court meal costs me almost $10, then dinner outside with gf will be $30/40 average. 
20 working days * $10 = 200
15 dinner meals a month * $40 = 600 (Meals paid alternatively between us)
Haven’t include weekend meals & I’m a bodybuilder so I don’t eat normal 1-person portions lol

I guess different goals gua. I don’t simply spend, but I wouldn’t go until that extent to save that couple of $$.
Rather be in the long run to creating more value instead of trying to save more.

I don’t take anything for breakfast, been practicing intermittent fasting for some years already- saves time & lots of health benefits/mental focus

I put in the first piece of food during lunch time

Btw I go to Anytime Fitness for gym, paying my KL rates instead of local rates hehe. Plenty of branches here and I can still use it whenever I go back home/out travelling too

Guys would like to ask you guy some advice.

Have you guys just reported to a new company for less than 1 month then decide to move to a new company as you get a better offer. Better offer in term of higher salary of 20%

Current company A : Basic + 1 aws + 3vb
New Offer : Higher basic (25%) + 1 aws + 0.5 vb
How you guys will choose?

Well, somehow quite agree.
But A is quite a well known Mnc. While new offer is just a US manufacturing plant. Besides salary, it also have to compare in term of career growth and company culture as well.
A will required to do much OT and travelling. While factory will be in a stagnant life maybe after 3  years..

Should be around 4k plus. If you can get higher it’s good.

After 5 months of pending period, I am getting my PR tomorrow. I have just booked a slot to meet ICA face-2-face documents verification. If nothing wrong will get it tomorrow.

I got question to ask regarding PR.

The main benefits I know as below :

- CPF (-20% salary contribution, employer will contribute +17%) total monthly will get 37% of your salary credit into CPF.
- ActiveSG cheaper price (not 3.30 it is likely 2.X)
- Can buy 2nd hand HDB, but cannot rent it out.
- Buy things from Malaysia no need to declare, if total purchase below SGD100

These are the main benefits between PR and Foreigner (EP/S/W permit).

I got a few question to clarify with you guys,

- Does PR (Nationality is Malaysia from West) allow to withdraw CPF in one-lump-sum withdraw all, when they are getting (50years old and 2 years never been working in singapore) or 55age already ?

so any age below 50 will not allow to withdraw right ?

- Renew every 5 years, most people say normally renew can be succeed, only if you never work for very long (almost a year or half year) so when renewing is having trouble. What if I am no longer working in professional field such as IT programmer role ? Now I applied successfully because of professional job role.

- For Information techonology field, programmer role, is PR easier to get a job ? I am looking for new job currently, I find that there are lots of job hunter agent they are just very annoying they spam posts everywhere in job website, except mycareersfuture.sg because this website is mainly for singaporean/pr only. I got lots of jobs from job agent they are applying for me but mostly no news and I have to hired under agent company most of it, I will be working for their client. I dont think this is good in term of benefits but my friends say as long as you can accept the expected salary it doesnt matter you work for who. The scenario is like I hire by agent company A, but I am going to work every day in client company B. Mostly contract base. So if I become PR, is it easier to find stable job as in permanent role hire directly by the local company / MNC company based in singapore. Any good way I can look for new job? I only tried monster/jobstreet... so far very hard to get one. Maybe it is because now is virus period.

Broo....thanks for being helpful. I totally agree with you. This situation is hard to get job and very competitive to get a job here in Singapore so there is no guarantee / stable job here. Don't work so hard for the company, I will say that local-company will never value you, they pay you they expect you to do everything for them thats it.

Agree with this, in fact MNCs can be even more "heartless" in retrenching due to restructuring, etc which may happen even in good times

I agree, but working in Malaysia my previous company will never simply fire and they can't do it if employee didn't break any employment law. But in Singapore redundancy is just easily happen and they can ask you to leave anytime. I have learnt this 😂😂. Thanks alot bro. Now I will be applying job with PR status hoping to get a job soon.
