You do know that Malay is one of the official language in Singapore?
*
So is Mandarin and Tamil, does that also mean that people from China and southern India don’t need to translate their documents? 🤭

Afraid the whole country will be put on lockdown?? So people without food just starve in their homes ah

looking at FB comments, quite a number of sinkie (residents) do feel that way, that govt should lockdown whole city and, I dunno. SAF deliver food or something, lolz.

but those sabahan/sarawak fly to jb senai and take bus is ok?  hmm.gif  hmm.gif  hmm.gif

I guess government will make announcement separately, since they did mention some dunno what joint task force with Msia.

As it is now memang got that loophole for Malaysians to bypass restrictions like what you said. I dunno whether the loophole can even be plugged cos passport probably won’t show the flight history. Maybe need to show IC, if address not JB then no entry 😂

The total personal relief is 1000.

There are 2 kinds of deductions, relief and rebate, don't get them mixed up. From a high level it is,

Take your gross income
Minus your reliefs
==> You get your net taxable income
From net taxable income calculate gross tax amount that need to get paid
Minus your rebates
==> You get your net tax amount that needs to be paid

Actually I'm always paid on time , right after my cc bill
I don’t know the full algorithm, but last time when I was tweaking my credit report for house loan, I noticed that credit card balance - even before being billed - shows up on the credit report as unsecured balance. For my limited tests it affected my score downwards from AA to BB.

Medical tourism seems to be able to get exemption. But otherwise not really. Even many existing EP/SPass holders outside country also still waiting for MOM approval to come back.

gosh i can't wait to go back to JB for makan haha flex.gif

So far no luck, the only thing that SG/MY sort of somewhat agreed is for Malaysians with work pass or LTVP in Singapore can go back to Malaysia at most once every 3 months (and vice versa). So maybe we can go back occasionally to see parents or etc, but they still can't come in to visit us.

Had been in Singapore for slight more than a decades. Had acquired PRship & even bought a flat there. At the same time I also own a business & house in Malaysia. When I first went to Singapore I like there but over the years I beginning to hate the place & the people (Singaporean & Malaysian SG PR or ex-Malaysian but Singaporean now - act like Singaporkean). While not all are bad but majority of them are fake and ultimate asshole. Thank god I will be leaving that freaking island & go back to Malaysia to concentrate my own business. Best of all is I get to enjoy driving my A250 AMG in Malaysia & no need to take bloody bus or MRT in Singapork.

Waaah so nice. I stuck so long in SG still living a pauper life, can only BMW (Bus MRT Walk) everywhere, once in a while take grab if low demand time and sit in the back close eyes pretend I am being chaffeured around in my personal car.

also, whats the best way to transfer $30k-$50k back to MY account? Have yet to check with banks but most remit sites (singx, transferwise, M1) albeit good rates have service fee north of $100++
worst case i go withdraw $1,000/$10,000 bank notes and wrap grasp it tightly throughout my trip back haha..

Paying ~$100 to transfer $50,000 safely seems a decent price to pay for peace of mind. Carrying on person highly unlikely you will have any issues, but if you really unlucky then how mang. Example if you cross border liao kena whisked immediately to hotel for 2 wks SHN, then what, 50k keep in hotel room for those 2 weeks? Even if you have in room safe there's a risk of it getting stolen.

I am smart enough to use Google. I am asking because I CANNOT get the satisfy answer from google, if you can google everything, there's no point to use FORUM at all. understand?

try this for you : https://bit.ly/2W5xBfO
The IRAS link is so freaking clear and answers your question immediately, does it not? Simple stuff you also can’t understand and need ppl to spoonfeed, how to justify to Singaporeans that FTs deserve to take their jobs?

Which part of the IRAS explanation are you still unsure about?

For IRAS - Parents cannot claim. Child can claim even though not Singaporean. Insurance life portion even I bought and pay in RM can claim.

simpleguy10 https://www.iras.gov.sg/irashome/Individual...-Parent-Relief/ nah since we are on spoonfeeding mode, the answer is no you cannot claim since your parents are not here.

To claim Parent Relief ... for YA 2020, you must satisfy all the conditions below:

The dependant was living in your household in Singapore* in 2019.
If the dependant lived in a separate household in Singapore, you must have incurred $2,000 or more in supporting him/her in 2019.

The dependant was 55 years of age or above in 2019.

The dependant did not have an annual income* exceeding $4,000 in 2019.

*"Living in Singapore" means that the dependant was living in Singapore permanently, except for temporary absences (e.g. short overseas vacation) in 2019. Foreign dependants will generally be regarded as living in Singapore if he/she stayed in Singapore for a period of at least 8 months in 2019.

Probably no discussion cos the pace of reopening border news is really slow 😂 it’s been months liao and the only good news we have is maybe sometime soon there will be green lane and balik kampung once every 3 mths, no timeline no details, for all you know it requires us to cucuk hidung twice every crossing.

Have some dealings with MBS..so far no talk about retrenchment but definitely many of their purchases are put on hold and carry forward to next year.

Sooner or later will retrench also ba, we have no idea when tourism will reopen, there's no way all these luxury hotels can survive long term with just local staycaytions.

Anyone tried finding job in these times? And they actually get it?

Some industries aren't that badly affected yet. I have some banking & finance friends whose various departments are still hiring. But other industries like hospitality & tourism confirm you won't be able to find job if tio retrenched / etc.

Any of you got experience with applying LTVP for Parents as SPR?

https://www.ica.gov.sg/pass/LTVP/pass_LTVP_apply_parent

QUOTE
From the parent (applicant)
Passport biodata page
Disembarkation/ Embarkation (D/E) card

First-time applicants need to apply for an LTVP with at least 10 days remaining on their Visit Pass.

The ICA website seems to imply that the parent must be in Singapore on 30-days white card then only can apply for LTVP. Wondering if we can apply for LTVP for them while they are still in Malaysia (to take advantage of upcoming RGR / PCA on 10 Aug.

chaos32 Fiona Chin crazy25kid Ah kk thanks, sucks then cos we need our MIL to come in for some reason soon and she has no LTVP. ICA gave us this site to seek approval https://form.gov.sg/#!/5e3648e9405c180011dc5f9c will try that I guess.

But Malaysia now allowed Malaysian who do not hold any LTVP or Singapore PR to leave the country meh?

QUOTE(55665566 @ Jul 29 2020, 02:40 PM)
You can, just pay $$

Assuming SG side approve (no idea approval chance), means Malaysia side can come in, then pay $2000 for 14-day SHN in hotel + $xxx for Swab ... right?
